Wonderful Pretty Cure!

A few months ago, legendary merchandise that sold out within hours of release was announced to be re-released as a surprise today, so I went to buy some after work. I was glad they still had them in stock.

↑They were still available, so I took a photo and bought them. They'll probably be sold out by tomorrow.

↑Cure Sky Puripuri and Cure Majesty Puripuri were also restocked for the first time in a month. Cure Sky Puripuri is especially popular and often sells out.

Tsubasa (Punibird) Puripuri has been out of stock for about a month now.

Aside from the limited Puripuri (not being produced in greater quantities), the most popular Puripuri is probably Kururun Puripuri, which usually sells out within 2 or 3 days of being released.

Initially I thought this because hapcha was the anniversary season(ish?) and made me question why they didn't make the Anniversary seasons in their perspective years (star twinkle and wanpre)

It's a character accessory that you can attach to your PuriPuri, but it's more expensive than the PuriPuri and apparently it's random, not one of six different types to choose from. (lol)

I have all six of these PuriPuri varieties, so any of above accessories will do.

I'm currently watching HeartCatch! and from what I've heard, it's the darkest season. However, from what I'm seeing, all that really makes it "dark" is the fact that it has character deaths and one scene where blood was shown. It doesn't really have too much else, though, and most of the episodes seem pretty light-hearted to me.

So, do character deaths alone make a season dark? I'd certainly argue that Healin' Good is darker than HeartCatch!, due to a slightly scarier atmosphere and a minor character being somewhat right about human nature in the last episode (it was a monkey in the Healing Garden named Saruro). HeartCatch! also doesn't really seem super...deep compared to other seasons such as Smile!.

Furthermore, another season that mentions death and how cruel humans can be is Wonderful!, and it's often dismissed as a "light-hearted season," even though there was literally a scene where Gaou got shot ON-SCREEN. So, do the happier elements of the show outweigh the darker ones? And, if so, why not for HeartCatch! as well?

HUGtto! is also frequently labeled as "dark" even though most of the episodes are cheerful and light-hearted. So, was it labeled as such because of Hana's tragedy in the alternate timeline? The birth scene at the end? The implied car crash in one scene?

So, to you, what makes a Pretty Cure season "dark"? I'm interested to hear.
