Aroma

Aroma (アロマ)^? is one of the main fairies from the series Go! Princess Pretty Cure. He ends his sentences with "~roma" (ロマ)^?.

Bio[]

Appearance[]

Aroma is a parrot-like fairy with purple feathers with cream coloured areas on his face and stomach and two pink hearts on his cheeks. He wears a red bow with a gold crown-shaped brooch on his neck with a white frill coming out.

In his human form, Aroma resembles a young man with purple hair and butler outfit. He still retains his bow tie and the hearts on his cheeks. He also carries a pocket watch.

Personality[]

Aroma is a cheerful and reliable fairy. He sometimes nags the girls in his efforts to lead them to being true princesses. He is always affectionate toward his younger sister, Pafu.

Relationships[]

Pafu: His younger sister, who he tends to care and indulge for, even if he sometimes spoil her.
Prince Kanata: He shows great respect and admiration to Kanata. When Hope Kingdom was invaded, he, along with Pafu, was tasked by Kanata to find the three legendary Princess Pretty Cure.
Akagi Towa: The long-missing princess of Hope Kingdom. He shows great respect to her.

Etymology[]

Aroma means a a distinctive, typically pleasant smell or fragrance.

History[]

Pre-season[]

Along with his younger sister, Pafu, Aroma was given the Princess Perfumes from Prince Kanata so they could find the Princess Pretty Cure.

Meeting Haruno Haruka[]

After Haruno Haruka's new roommate, Nanase Yui, asks what Haruka's dream is, an embarrassed Haruka runs off into the woods first running into Pafu who shocks Haruka with her ability to talk. Aroma then comes down from the trees carrying a small treasure chest. Haruka freaks out a little again but then muses that parrots can usually talk anyway. Aroma is somewhat annoyed at being called a parrot and says along with his sister that they are fairies. Soon after, Close attacks and seals Nanase Yui's dream to create a Zetsuborg which attacks the two mascots. The chest pops open revealing that it contains the Princess Perfume. Seeing Haruka's totem, both Aroma and Pafu realize that it is the Dress Up Key that can open the Princess Perfume and Haruka transforms and defeats the Zetsuborg.^GPPC01

Training To Become A Butler[]

Miss Shamour tells Aroma that he can again take the test to become a butler as he has been an apprentice for a while. Shamour then grants him the ability to turn into a human the next morning, which startles Haruka and Yui when he appears in their dorm. After arriving in town without getting noticed, Aroma has Haruka follow the schedule he made out, but it turns out to be too hectic and Haruka struggles to keep up with the tasks. At the end of the day, Shamour fails him again because he missed the point of being a great butler, and he runs away in tears. He is about to get hit by a truck when a butler named Oikawa saves him, and from him Aroma learns that he has to understand Haruka's feelings. Haruka then meets up with Aroma to give him back the book he threw on the ground when Lock summons a butler Zetsuborg using Oikawa's dream. When Flora struggles against it, Aroma runs away to warn Minami and Kirara, and the two Cures show up in time to help Flora and purify the Zetsuborg. Aroma later accepts his failure and promises to keep studying hard to pass the test.^GPPC15

Becoming A Butler[]

Pafu and Aroma stay behind at school to be at Towa's company, but they later find out that Towa has caught a fever, and decide to look after her. Pafu and Aroma vow to protect Towa from Shut and Pafu demands the cicada Zetsuborg he summoned to be quiet, ignoring the dangers that the tiny Zetsuborg poses. Their strong willpower and care for Towa eventually evoke their transformation, with Pafu becoming a fully-fledged maid. They then help the Cures to defeat the cicada Zetsuborg. After Miss Shamour tells the girls about the phenomenon that happened to the siblings, Pafu and Aroma insist Towa rest more, and Towa gratefully embraces them.^GPPC26

Epilogue[]

After the Cures' final battle against Dyspear, Aroma and Pafu return to Hope Kingdom with Towa and Kanata after having a tearful goodbye with the girls. He continues to be a hardworking butler for Kanata.^GPPC50

Abilities[]

In episode 15, he was granted the power to transform into a human by Miss Shamour. Also, in episode 26, he was granted the power of becoming a butler in his fairy form. In this form, he and Pafu can summon the Music Princess Palace for the Cures to use their group attacks and also help them during the final battle.

Aroma's voice actor, Kokido Shiho, has participated in an image song for the character she voices, along with Toyama Nao, who voices Pafu.
