Beryberie

Beryberie (べリィベリー)^? is a minor character from Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure. She is a member of Sky Land's Azure Guards.

Bio[]

Appearance[]

Beryberie has red hair tied up into twin tails, with red eyes to match. She wears a long-sleeved navy blue dress that reaches her ankles, with red and gold triangular cuffs on her sleeves. She also wears a white glove with a red and gold triangle pattern and a blue gemstone on the front of her right hand. On her dress is white cloth with gold lining, and two white feathers on her chest. Around her waist is a gold belt with a gold buckle that has white wings attached to it. Her boots are white with a navy blue trim.

Personality[]

Beryberie is a hot-headed girl who doesn't like weaklings, as she thinks they'll get in the way. However, at heart, she's a considerate, kind, and thoughtful person who always wants to do the right thing and is shown to be loyal to those she considers her friends and allies. She's a hard worker who did her very best to end up where she is today. She also tends to be very competitive, a trait best exemplified by her relationship with Sora.

Relationships[]

Sora Harewataru: At first, Beryberie didn't like Sora. She thought Sora was a weakling who would get in the Azure Guards' way. However, after Cure Sky protects her from Battamonda and his Ranborg, she grows to respect her, and the two become friends. In episode 50, Beryberie mentions that she enjoys training with Sora, claiming that she's the only person who can keep up with her.
Captain Shalala: Shalala is Beryberie's senior. Beryberie respects her, and is comfortable around her to the point that she'll let Captain Shalala comfort her when she's upset.

History[]

When Beryberie was young, she badly injured her arm, causing her to fail the test to join the Azure Guards for three years. However, she worked hard and became strong.

After Sora introduces herself to the Azure Guards, Beryberie dismisses Sora's efforts to save Princess Ellee, deeming her to be a child and assuming she is lying. This angers Sora, and Beryberie accepts Sora's challenge to duel. Before the duel begins, Beryberie allows Sora to choose a weapon. Initially, Beryberie gains the upper hand, but her hot-headedness causes her to lose when Sora almost punches her. Sora scolds Beryberie for her mistaken assumptions about how a hero should act, which causes Beryberie to cry. While Beryberie is crying, she is confronted by Battamonda, who vows to destroy the world that's hurting her. Beryberie prepares to fight the villain but passes out when Battamonda turns her glove into a Ranborg. Upon regaining consciousness, she tries to confront the Ranborg herself but is saved by Cure Sky. Beryberie realizes that Sky is Sora when Sky apologizes to her for what she said earlier. After the Ranborg is defeated, Beryberie cries while Captain Shalala comforts her. She then calls out to Sora to thank and apologize to her. Sora runs up to hug her, and Beryberie smiles and accepts Sora as a friend.^HSPC14

After Captain Shalala disappears after being hit by Undergu Energy, Beryberie, along with the other Azure Guards, try looking for her, but to no avail. Beryberie then tells Sora that she has done well, and that Captain Shalala would be proud of her. Beryberie then wishes Sora the best of luck as she returns to Sorashido City with her friends.^HSPC15

Beryberie is one of the Azure Guards who evacuate the citizens of Sky Land to the main city. She also helps hold the Strichmas party, during which she and Sora compete to blow up balloons.^HSPC46

While defending Sky Land with the other Azure Guards, Beryberie and Vice Captain Airiri get some help from Cure Buterfly.^HSPC48

After the final battle, Beryberie is last seen impatiently waiting for Sora to return to Sky Land, and bickering with Vice Captain Airiri.^HSPC50

Abilities[]

Beryberie has the ability to harness the power of her glove's gemstone to summon blue bolts of energy. Later, she can purify Ranborgs using Kira Kira Mode on her glove.

Trivia[]

Beryberie shares her voice actress with Sawaizumi Touji and Rina from Healin' Good♥Pretty Cure, and Nekoyashiki Yuki / Cure Nyammy from Wonderful Pretty Cure!.
Beryberie, along with Sora, is one of the only members of Sky Land's Azure Guards to not use a sword as her weapon. She instead using her glove to harness her powers.
