At first, I too thought there wasn't much here until I clicked on the ごあいさつ tab. There I found...messages from the Futari wa producer, director and the voice actors of Cure Black and Cure White. So for everyone here, I decided I would translate their messages to see if they said anything interesting.
Futari wa PreCure Producer, Washio Takashi:
Initially, when we started the show in 2004, I never thought "PreCure" would become a series, nor did I think it would reach its 15th anniversary. Not to mention that it would have over 50 Cures! I appreciate those who supported the series, the production staff and everyone else who was involved in the series creation.
The first 5 years were all "critical moments" for those deeply involved with the series. Day after day, I was forced to make every decision and make sure those decisions were green lit, sometimes with no emotions whatsoever. But I was always certain things would turn out great in the end. I wonder if the sense of desperation was noticeable during the show because I suppose if there was one word or rule to describe the "PreCure series", it would have to be "desperation".
I will continue to devote my efforts into this show so it'll turn out even better in the future. We all appreciate your support.
Futari wa PreCure Series Director, Nishio Daisuke:
The long awaited 15th year has finally arrived without us noticing. Although I tend to forget the struggles I went through, when I look back at how far the series has come, it brings back the memories of something unique, that is also accompanied with the up and downs of bringing it to life.
"I don't know what else to say" "Oh wait, now I do"
While I worked on this project in the first two years, I cried and I laughed, as it was a mess but somehow, the first season ended up being the series we look up to for the ongoing franchise.
Thank you to the staff and cast who put all their heart into this, and thank you, the fans for supporting us up until now.
Let's all continue to send our support to the staff and cast who continue to support PreCure.
Even though, you could just say so here.
I just hope that PreCure will continue to grow into something that can face resistance and produce a trend that will last forevermore.
"And now I don't know what else to say..."
Cure Black's voice actor, Honna Yoko:
You know, I was going through the scripts at my parent's house the other day.
While holding the script for PreCure, I remembered how nervous I was in the beginning. I failed a lot and cried a lot. But at the same time, I had experienced happiness.
And now, 15 years has gone by. 15 years came within a blink of an eye.
What I thought was a short distance race, ended up becoming a miracle that is still continuing till this day! This is truly amazing and trying to find the words to describe how I feel is making me emotional as I was scared the series would stop after that one season so I had thought, "oh whatever, gotta climb this mountain in front of me now!". I put everything I had into this and now...if you look closely, PreCure has surprisingly became one huge family! (laughs)
To all my fans, I would like to say thank you.
With so much love, thank you♡
From now on, I will take another step.....to somewhere nice that is surely waiting for me!
Thank you so much for your support!
Cure White's voice actor, Yukana:
Congratulations on reaching the 15th anniversary.
Back then, I was always flowing with anticipation each week, hoping that these feeling of mine would get us here today. And here we here, thanks to the staff who created this work of art called "PreCure".
Together with the co-stars I love dearly...I am so happy with the results we have today.
When that 15th year arrives, it'll be a day full of all the young people yearning to become adults and learning more about society. Whenever I go to work, more and more people keep saying "I watched that when I was a child".
It is making me emotional knowing people from the other side of the computer screen, on the other side of the world even, love this series so much.
Anyway, thank you everyone for allowing us to reach the 15th anniversary.
Also, with all my heart, I hope everyone will enjoy the 15th anniversary. And if possible, I hope the future will be able to make everyone smile...
Thank you so much.
And that's it. This made me tear up to be honest. Yoko and Yukana's messages were so sweet!!! I wonder if we'll get messages from the other voice actors... Anyway, I think Yukana gave us a slight clue on what HUGtto! is about. Something about "young people yearning to become adults and learning about society". Guess we'll find out soon.
