Fairies are supernatural creatures existing in the Pretty Cure Franchise. Most of them are creatures from other worlds with different social structures. While most of them are animal-like appearance wise, some of them are more humanoid. Some fairies also have the powers to transform into a human-like form to blend into the human world, or turn into Pretty Cures' transformation devices.
Most fairies also have intelligence similar to human characters in the franchise, which allows them to communicate with or befriend the main characters. Most notably, fairies speak with special verbal tics, and are known for their passive or active magical powers.
However, most normal humans aren't aware of fairies' existence, so the main characters have to protect them from the public either by pretending that they are animals or objects as a running gag throughout the franchise.
Although initially introduced as characters who needed the Cures' help, in recent seasons many fairies have been granted roles of being official Pretty Cure members in their teams.
