Clover (クローバー)? is a movie-exclusive character of Pretty Cure Super Stars!. Clover is a young boy who lives inside a mysterious world and wishes nothing more than to see the world outside. He met Hana when she was still young and waits for her to get him out of this world, like she promised.
Over the years, Clover becomes possessed by the Dark Onibi (闇の鬼火)?, which creates his alter ego Usobakka (ウソバーッカ)?.
Bio
Appearance
Clover is a short boy with pale white skin, pale green hair, dark green eyes, and pointy ears. He wears a layered green garb, comprised of different shades of green, and gold patterned socks attached to green shoes.
As Usobakka, he is a black monster with red accents and eyes, and grey hands.
Personality
Initially, Clover is a trusting and friendly boy, who holds onto the promise of meeting Hana again and curious about the outside world. However, he later loses hope after Hana is unable to return for a long time, leading to him being possessed. After understanding how Hana still remembers and cares for him, he is shown to be selfless as he sacrifices his own life for her.
Relationships
- Nono Hana: A girl who Clover met many years ago. After Hana had to leave home with her parents, she promised him to show him the real world. He loses faith on her when she cannot return in time, but eventually sacrifices himself for her.
- Dark Onibi: Clover met the evil flame during his despair, and fell for their deception. Although angered at them having deceived him, Clover still forgives them before taking them with him to the afterlife.
Etymology
Clover is a type of small plant that is associated with good luck and fortune, a symbol of protection, and how someone remembers their loved ones fondly.[1]
Usobakka (ウソバーッカ)? means "not a liar", which is ironic considering his deceptive nature.
History
A few years ago, Clover met Hana, who accidentally entered his decaying world when she was in Dublin. The two became friends, with Hana promising explore the world with him one day. However, as Hana was unable to find his pavilion again, she was unable to fulfill her promise, which made Clover slowly fall into despair. He soon succumbed to the lies of Dark Onibi and became Usobakka through a forced transformation.
As Usobakka, Clover starts terrorizing the world and decides to eliminate the Pretty Cure, for they are deemed unsuitable to exist in his world. Hana later recognizes him when he starts attacking the Magic World, and is saddened that she is responsible for his down-fall. Nevertheless, Hana, who is helped by Ichika and Mirai, manages to re-enter his pavilion through the door of time, and finds out the truth of Clover being lied to by the Dark Onibi. With unyielding determination to apologize to him, Hana manages to undo the Clover's transformation, and finally brings him to the outside world. Realizing Hana decided to fulfill her promise after all these years, Clover is moved and apologetic.
Afterwards, both Clover and Hana manage to get to the outside world, where he realizes that he can exist without being in his own realm, and the truth is that Dark Onibi had deceived him. To make up for his mistake, he sacrifices himself to recover the transformation items of the three Pretty Cure teams.
After Dark Onibi is purified, Clover takes the flame with him to the afterlife, and his seeds are spread across the fields of Earth, as he disappears after making another promise with Hana.
Abilities
As Usobakka, he can trap his opponents with clover-like vines, and from within him they'll be slowly transformed into statues.

- Clover shares his name with Alice's Glitter Force alter ego, Glitter Clover, from Doki Doki! Pretty Cure's English dub, Glitter Force.
