While in the Dotsuku Zone Evil King scolds Gekidrago

The Dotsuku Zone (ドツクゾーン Dotsuku Zōn?) (also known as the Dark Zone in the Canadian English dub) is a parallel world and the home place of all the villains from Futari wa Pretty Cure and its sequel. The Dotsuku Zone is reigned over by Evil King.

Description[]

The Dotsuku Zone is filled with mist and has a sky with no sun, but only covering black clouds. It also features valleys where Evil King's minion usually stay. Evil King himself is in the centre of the Dotsuku Zone and is chained by this world. The Power of Destruction comes from the Dotsuku Zone and is the source of his power, however, this power also destructs himself at the same time. This motivates the Evil King to assault the Garden of Light and the Garden of Rainbows to obtain the Prism Stones, which are filled with the Power of Creation- the Power of Creation is able to stop the self-destructive Power of Destruction.

Etymology[]

The "Dotsuku" (ドツク?) in Dotsuku Zone likely comes from "dotsuku" (ド突く?), meaning to jab or punch something.

  • Zakenna - Demonic underlings of the Dotsuku Zone. They are used by the commanders of the Dotsuku Zone to attack Pretty Cure and wreak havoc while in the Garden of Rainbows.

Trivia[]

  • The Dotsuku Zone has the most villains who live in an evil world.
  • The Dotsuku Zone is the only evil world to appear in two seasons.
  • The Seeds of Darkness are likely loosely based off the Four Symbols in Chinese mythology.
    • Juna, whose civilian alias is Kakuzawa Ryuichiro (角澤竜一郎 Kazukawa Ryūichirō?), has the "竜" for "dragon" in his given name, representing the Azure Dragon.
    • Regine, whose civilian alias is Koyama Shoko (小山翔子 Kyoyama Shōko?), has the "翔" for the act of soaring or flying in her given name, representing the Vermillion Bird.
    • Belzei, whose civilian alias is Yuuki Genbu (結城玄武 Yūki Genbu?), has the Black Tortoise (玄武 Genbu?) as his given name.
    • The last symbol, the White Tiger (白虎 Byakko?), is likely represented by Cure Black and Cure White, whose color scheme matches the white tiger with black stripes.
  • Some of the guidebooks refer to the four villains from Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart as the "Four Heavenly Kings" (四天王 Shitennō?), though they are not called that in the actual anime.
