Empress Undergu (カイゼリン・アンダーグ )? is the mysterious leader from the Undergu Empire, and the initial main antagonist of Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure.

Appearance[]
Empress Undergu has long red hair featuring a bold yellow streak in her bangs and gold eyes. She wears an indigo choker and a pair of gold clip-on earrings. She wears black lipgloss and pale red eyeshadow. She wears a black, white, and dark turquoise striped tube top, a gray translucent cloth that covers her stomach with an indigo heart, a gray belt, black skin-tight short-shorts, gray tights, silver knee guards, and black thigh-high boots. Additionally, she wears black fingerless gloves with dark gray elbow guards and spiked gauntlets on top of dark turquoise gloves. She has a shoulder spike on her left shoulder, and she wears a long black cape that is red in the front with golden spikes lining the bottom.
When she was a young girl, Empress Undergu wore a long red dress with white and black accents, black and dark blue ribbons, and a collar adorned with a red gem around her neck. She also wore long frilled black gloves and a black rose crown atop her head. She paired her dress with grey socks and black and red flats. At that time, her hair's yellow streak was less widespread, and she didn't wear earrings, spiked gauntlets, or shoulder spikes.
When Empress Undergu is engulfed in Undergu Energy, her hair flares upwards in the shape of a vortex, the lower half of her body is covered in black lumps, and she loses her earrings, spiked gauntlets, and shoulder spikes. She also has red wings with black frames and yellow talons.
Personality[]
Empress Undergu used to be a gentle girl who cared about those close to her. However, after the battle in Sky Land and Elleelain's betrayal, Empress Undergu grew up full of hate and now seeks vengeance against Ellee-chan. However, upon realizing she was tricked and betrayed by Skearhead and being rescued by the Cures, she starts to change her mind and slowly returns to her former and real gentleness.
Relationships[]
- Emperor Undergu: Her father. She loves him deeply, and wishes him to stop fighting. She is also deeply devastated by his death.
- Skearhead: Her tutor. At first, she has a great deal of respect and affection for him, until she discovers that he was the one who murdered her father. However, after becoming friends with the Cures, she is no longer easily influenced by him. When he attempts to manipulate her again, this time with the aim of using her as his vessel, she rejects him out of her body.
- Princess Elleelain: Empress Undergu's enemy. Originally, both Empress and Elleelain became friends, but they became enemies after Elleelain struck Emperor Undergu. It is later revealed that Skearhead is the cause of breaking her friendship with Elleelain.
- Ellee-chan: Empress Undergu wants to kidnap, and later destroy Ellee-chan, as she believes she is Elleelain from 300 years ago. She has a deep hatred for the princess, and wants to get revenge. However, she is no longer hostile towards Ellee-chan, after Ellee-chan helps her out despite her cruel actions.
- Sora Harewataru: Out of the five Cures, Sora is the one who wants to understand Empress Undergu the most, despite the Empress's hostility towards her. Eventually, after Empress Undergu is betrayed by Skearhead, she is touched by Cure Sky's courage and kindness towards her, and both her and Cure Sky finally become friends.
- Kabaton, Battamonda and Minoton: Her subordinates. She used to mistreat them due to her frustration with their incompetence and failures, but later slowly reconciles with them after the final battle. She is also easily amused by their bickering.
Etymology[]
Her Japanese name, Kaiserin (カイゼリン )? is German for "Empress"[1].
Undergu (アンダーグ )? comes from the word "Underground", which references how the Undergu Empire is the opposite of Sky Land, which is in the sky.

300 years ago, Empress Undergu appears in Sky Land alongside Skearhead, where she is told by her father, Emperor Undergu that she shouldn't have come. Skearhead proceeds to take her back to the Undergu Empire, but the Empress is worried about her father, as she believes fighting only brings tears.HSPC44
In the Undergu Empire, Empress Undergu expresses doubts about the belief that "strength is everything", despite Skearhead's unwavering belief due to their origin from the Sea of Undergu Energy. In Sky Land, Empress Undergu is harassed by two angry birds who confront her with questions about the world being centered around strength, which further upsets the Empress, when she is helped by Princess Elleelain. Empress Undergu asks Elleelain to stop the fighting, and in turn, she convinces her father to stop as well. However, when she, her father, and Elleelain meet to have a discussion, she learns that it is a trap and that Skearhead is attacking Sky Land as they speak. Empress Undergu is trapped in an Undergu Energy barrier and begs Noble to stop fighting her father. Upon escaping from the barrier, Empress Undergu jumps in front of Magic Hour's End, causing a wound to open up on her chest. Empress Undergu begs Noble to forgive her father and listens as Noble asks Emperor Undergu to heal her wound. Upon returning to the royal city with her father and Elleelain, Empress Undergu is given all the credit for stopping the fight and creating peace between Sky Land and Undergu Empire.HSPC45
During Sky Land's peaceful times with the Undergu Empire, Empress Undergu once gives Elleelain a doll for Elleelain's birthday. However, their friendship comes to an end after Elleelain strikes Emperor Undergu.HSPC47 However, it turns out Skearhead altered her memories after she witnesses him killing her father, so she would blame Elleelain for the Emperor's death instead.HSPC48

After Kabaton's failures, Empress Undergu contacts Kabaton to warn him about bringing Ellee-chan back to the Undergu Empire as soon as possible.HSPC05 After Kabaton loses to the Cures multiple times, she warns Kabaton that he has one last chance as she has a lightning bolt strike an object near him. When Minoton trains in a gym, Empress Undergu contacts him about why he hasn't been capturing Ellee-chan. Angered by his response, Empress Undergu electrocutes him and sends Skearhead to fight the Cures. HSPC31 Empress Undergu is later then informed by Skearhead about Ellee-chan and approves of Skearhead's plan to kill the princess before she destroys the Undergu Empire. HSPC32
Despite Skearhead's concerns for her injuries, Empress Undergu decides it's time for her to get back on the battlefield. Empress Undergu enters Sky Land, where she is seen by the Cures. She informs them that a safe place no longer exists, before revealing herself to be their enemy. Empress Undergu attacks the Cures with Undergu Energy and notices Ellee-chan, where she declares she'll get her revenge over what happened 300 years ago. Instead of telling the Cures what happened, she instead orders them to use their strongest attack to try to stop her from destroying Sky Land. Empress Undergu manages to easily overpower Majestic Halation, and force the Cures to de-transform. Empress Undergu confronts Ellee-chan, but before she can do anything, she is stopped by the power of the Majestic Chroniclon.HSPC44
Empress Undergu becomes furious when Sora and Mashiro ask her what has changed her over the past 300 years. Instead of attacking Sky Land, she decides to eliminate the Cures and produces even stronger Undergu Energy. The Empress refuses to discuss what has happened, believing that the Cures are ignorant of the situation. However, her rage reignites her wound, and she is rescued by Skearhead before Majestic Halation can strike her.HSPC45
As Empress Undergu recovers from her wound, she pleads with Skearhead not to leave her. However, she eventually realizes that he must go once she learns that Majesty has fully awakened. When Skearhead dies, Empress Undergu is overcome with grief. She breaks out of her recovery device and confronts the team, revealing to them that Elleelain violated the truce by killing her father, which is the reason why she is driven by a burning desire for revenge.HSPC47 She then powers herself up with an abundance of Undergu Energy to fight against the Cures and destroy the barrier. But she begins to realize how her philosophy has been disproved by both the Cures, the people of Sky Land, and even her former subordinates. Unfortunately for Empress Undergu, just as she is purified by Updraft Shining and about to understand what the Cures are trying to teach her, but Skearhead literally backstabs her with a spear that went through her abdomen.HSPC48
Upon realizing Skearhead has manipulated and betrayed her, Empress Undergu is devastated. She is then taken back to Undergu Empire, where she is used as bait to trap Sky and Prism. She begs Sky not to fight against Darkhead but to no avail. Fortunately, her wound is healed by Cure Prism's light. She finally gets to talk with Cure Sky, and she makes peace with both the Cures and Sky Land.HSPC49
When Skearhead tries to manipulate her again and use her as his vessel, the Empress is able to expel him from her body with the help of her friendship with the Cures. She then encourages the Cures to fight against Daijarg. After the final battle, Empress Undergu creates a doll similar to the one she made for Elleelain. She is also thankful that Kabaton, Minoton, and Battamonda have chosen to stay with her, while also finding amusement in their bickering.HSPC50

- Harnessing Undergu Energy: Empress Undergu is a proficient wielder of Undergu Energy, formidable enough to overwhelm the Cures with interrupting Majestic Halation, and forcing them to de-transform.
- Lightning Manipulation: Empress Undergu has the ability to unleash lightning. She directed a bolt of lightning at an object near Kabaton, who she had given a final chance, and when she subsequently electrocuted Minoton.
