Asahina Kyoko

Asahina Kyoko (朝日奈今日子 Asahina Kyōko^?) is a minor character who appears in Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure!. She is the mother to Asahina Mirai, wife to Asahina Daikichi and the daughter to Yuki Kanoko. She owns the Power Stone shop.

Appearance[]

Kyoko is an adult woman with brown eyes and short orange hair tied into a ponytail she wears over her right shoulder, held by a scrunchie of lilac flowers to match her slightly darker colored headband. Her bangs are brushed to the right with a single, long curl hanging down the left of her face.

Normally, she wears an apricot shirt with loose bell sleeves over a black shirt, beige 3/4 pants, and light brown loafers. She also wears a necklace.

Personality[]

Kyoko is described as a refreshing woman with a friendly disposition. It's easy for her to become snappy though.

Relationships[]

Asahina Mirai: Her daughter. She is sometimes strict when it comes to disciplining Mirai, but still loves Mirai greatly.
Asahina Daikichi: Her husband who is loving and respectful towards her.

History[]

Kyoko catches Mirai sneaking out of the house in the middle of the night and is not fazed to go with her even when Mirai tries to convince her. The next morning, she is talking to Mirai about the "shooting star" when her mother walks in to tell Mirai that the "shooting star" could be a magic user. Before letting Mirai go out to find this magic user, she lets Mirai pick a pendant for good luck, only for Mirai to pick a pink pendent that she never knew she owned.^MTPC01

Kyoko later gets to meet Riko when Riko is lost in the No Magic World. She pulls Riko out of the highway, and invites Riko to have food at the Asahina house. Kyoko also assures Riko that her parents still love and care for her. When Mirai returns, Kyoko calmly chews out on her for leaving without warning and tells Mirai that she has already met Riko, before wondering what she has missed out on when the two girls begin laughing.^MTPC10

When Dokurokushe is spreading his dark magic across the two worlds, Kyoko and her mother watch in worry of the plant wilting. They are happy when the No Magic World is returned to normal.^MTPC21

When Kotoha comes to stay at the Asahina household, Kyoko and her family passionately welcome her ^MTPC22 and let Kotoha stay in the attic as her own room. ^MTPC23

She dresses up as Red Riding Hood during the Halloween festival for her stall.^MTPC39

She and her family happily welcome Lian, Lilia and Liz for visiting and celebrating Riko's birthday. They are also grateful when Riko's family thank them for looking after Riko.^MTPC40

A few years later, Kyoko teases Daikichi for looking at Mirai's past graduations' photos. They both then greet Mirai when they see her leaving the house.^MTPC49 She and Daikichi return from doing an errand and both wonder what good thing Kanako has seen in the end.^MTPC50
