This is a page dedicated to the minor characters from the Futari wa Pretty Cure and Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart series.
Mr. Miyashita[]
Mr. Miyashita (宮下先生 )? (Mr. McMasters in the Canadian English dub) is a math teacher at Verone Academy.
He tends to have trouble with Nagisa, a student of his, as she does not make an effort to prepare for his class. In the first episode of Futari wa Pretty Cure, Miyashita calls on a dozing Nagisa to answer a problem on the blackboard, which she is unable to do, disappointing him as he reminds her that she's a second-year junior high student and thus should know the answer. However, Honoka steps in, noting that Nagisa wouldn't be able to solve the problem as Miyashita wrote it in an erroneous way. He is embarrassed, but notes that he will be more careful in the future.
In the second episode of the season, he is the one who greets Kazama Ryuuichi at the school. Miyashita is surprised, as he notes that he thought the student teacher was sick and couldn't make it, but is nevertheless glad he could. Later, in the ninth episode, he gives Nagisa, Shiho, Rina, and the rest of their class a pop quiz, much to those girls' dismay. When Nagisa disguises herself to try and sneak out Mepple from Vice-principal Kometsuki's stash of confiscated items in the teacher's lounge, Miyashita is the one who indirectly addresses the "courier." She overhears him note to Ms. Yoshimi that she didn't do well on today's quiz, which she almost blows her cover over as he notices her react in disappointment. Nagisa does not think highly of her teacher either, as in the thirteenth episode, when she forgets to prepare for his class again, she has a vision of Miyashita menacingly looking down on her. It's then implied that he made her stay after class to attend remedial lessons to make up for her unpreparedness.
He attends Yoshimi's wedding in the thirty-ninth episode of the season. He also attends the student council's Christmas party, noting that it's a success again this year. When Kometsuki tries hard to dance, he knocks the Principal into Yoshimi and Miyashita's arms, as they look shocked at the vice-principal's attempt.FwPC44 He later appears in the audience alongside the other people representing Verone Academy at the interscholastic choir competition.FwPC45
In the sequel season, Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart, he appeared in the sixteenth episode, where he proctors an exam for Hikari's first-year class. When Uraganos arrrives at the school, everyone in the classroom except Hikari falls unconscious. He also appeared in the first ending theme, during the scene where all of Verone Academy's students and teachers are dancing.
He has a short black bowl cut and wears a full dark blue suit with a red tie with yellow triangles and black shoes.
His name is not spoken out loud in the anime, it is only listed in the credits.
In the original Japanese, he is voiced by Kanemitsu Nobuaki, who also voiced Hanasaki Youichi in Heartcatch Pretty Cure! and Aida Kentaro in Doki Doki! Pretty Cure. In the Canadian English dub, he was voiced by Glenn Howard.
Caretaker Card Inhabitants[]
The Caretaker Cards (お世話カード )? (Care Cards in the Canadian English dub) are cards containing residents of the Garden of Light that traveled with Mepple and Mipple to the Garden of Rainbows to help take care of their various needs. In Futari wa Pretty Cure, the unnamed cards they inhabit are used with the Card Communes, and later the Pretty Commune for Pollun. In Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart, when the girls upgrade to the Heartful Communes, the caretakers inhabit the upgraded Pretty Cure Heart cards which can be used with the device.
While they usually cater to Mepple and Mipple's every whim, politely addressing them, they do become frustrated with them at times. When the fairies return to the Garden of Light for the first time, the caretakers complain about their behavior, notably Mepple's, to the Elder. Only five of the caretaker cards are used in the Garden of Rainbows, though a few others are used as residents back in the Garden of Light, such as Sofquup, Kinop, and Pomp.FwPC25 They also appear during the eyecatch segments for both seasons.
Omp[]
Omp (オムプ )? is a caretaker that cooks meals on a whim for the fairies.
He first appeared in the second episode, when Mepple bothers Nagisa during school to feed him. She uses the card to summon Omp, who initially serves BLT sandwiches, but Mepple wants rice with miso soup instead. Omp comments on how Mepple is a picky eater, which he takes offense to, but the chef quickly gives him his desired dish. Omp is shown making other dishes throughout the season, such as kitsune udon,FwPC05 a fruit parfaitFwPC05 and other frozen desserts,FwPC19 a rice omelette,FwPC14 a seafood buffet that Mepple and Mipple share together,FwPC15, riceballs, and steak.FwPCMH02
One time, he was summoned by Pollun to play with him.FwPC32 He has other skills outside of cooking, such as when he and Shiklp made goggles for Mepple and Mipple to wear when they went on a roller coaster.FwPCMH30
Omp is an egg-shaped white being with a curve-shaped white moustache that's separated in the middle. He wears a chef uniform.
Omp's name may derive from "omelette" (オムレツ )? or "rice omelette" (オムライス )?, a dish he occasionally makes. This may be why he's shaped like an egg.
In the original Japanese, he was voiced by Sakurai Toshiharu, who also voiced Issac in Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure! In the Canadian English dub, he was voiced by Roger Rhodes, who voiced Mepple, Chuutaro, and Mr. Weaver. Rhodes gives Omp a French accent.
Nelp[]
Nelp (ネルプ )? (Snooze in the Canadian English dub) is a caretaker that puts the fairies to sleep almost immediately.
When Nagisa looks for a way to keep Mepple quiet during school, Honoka suggests using the Nelp card, which she does.FwPC02 Nagisa usually uses Nelp to put Mepple to sleep against his will.FwPC20 Nelp speaks once throughout the two seasons, and it's in the twenty-fifth episode of the first season to complain to the Elder that Mepple stays up late.
Nelp is a small, baby-like figure with long floppy brown ears that usually keeps its eyes closed. It wears a nightcap, bib, and what seems to be a blanket. Nelp always sucks on a pacifier.
Nelp likely derives from "neru," (寝る )? the Japanese verb for sleeping.
In the original Japanese, Nelp was voiced by Ichimura Oma, who also voiced Lovelun in the sequel season.
Palp[]
Palp (パルプ )? (Owie in the Canadian English dub) is a caretaker that can heal most illnesses immediately.
When Mepple gets sick due to the stress of living in the Garden of Rainbows, Mipple tells the girls they need to use the Palp card on him. When Palp is summoned, she uses a large syringe on Mepple, which scares him, but he instantly feels better once he gets the injection.FwPC09 Later, when Palp complains to the Elder about Mepple and Mipple, she says the two are always lovey-dovey.FwPC25 When Pollun summons her, along with Omp and Shiklp, they all play tag together.FwPC32
Palp has wavy light pink hair and arms that look like wings. She wears a nurse outfit and typically holds a syringe about as tall as her.
Palp likely derives from "pulse," (パルス )?, as in a heart pulsation. This would fit with the heart symbols on her outfit.
In the original Japanese, she was voiced by Asano Ruri.
Shiklp[]
Shiklp (シカルプ )? (Scold in the Canadian English dub) is a caretaker that teaches various subjects to the fairies.
When Nagisa studies for her midterms, Mepple throws a fit over not being taken to see Mipple, so she summons Shiklp to discipline him on not taking his hero duties seriously. However, he rambles on for so long and loudly that Nagisa yells at him too.FwPC18 When Honoka uses Shiklp, it's usually so that Mipple can study the same subjects she's studying.FwPCMH15 When the group returns to the Garden of Light, he complains to the Elder that all Mepple does is play.FwPC25 When Pollun summons him out of boredom, he tells the young prince that neither he nor Omp can play with him, but he insists on playing tag, with Shiklp being "it." The other caretakers join in, and Shiklp is tricked into chasing after them, until Nagisa yells at them all to be quiet.FwPC32 One time, he and Omp created goggles for Mepple and Mipple to wear while riding a roller coaster.FwPCMH32
Shiklp is a stout figure with a short brown toupee, long floppy ears, a large white moustache that covers his mouth. He wears round glasses, a black suit, a red bowtie, striped white pants, and black shoes. He usually carries a pointing stick.
Shiklp likely derives from "shikaru," (叱る )? the Japanese verb to scold, which is what he typically does.
In the original Japanese, he was voiced by Ono Ken'ichi, who voiced the Evil King in both seasons and Baldez in the sequel season. In the Canadian English dub, Scold was voiced by Jonathan Love, who voiced the Elder, Mr. Blackstone, Mr. Whitehouse, the Dark Zone's macaw, and the tall Zakenna butler.
Spical[]
Spical (スピカール )? (Sparkle in the Canadian English dub) is a caretaker that can grant wishes. She appears to be telepathic, and ends her sentences with "-kaaru" (カール )?.
She appeared only in the fourty-fourth episode of the first season, where Pollun summons her and, through Mepple's suggestion, wishes for a Christmas-like romantic scene to cheer Nagisa up. Spical obliges, and summons several miniature reindeer flying around in circles in Nagisa's room, which Mepple fails to see how it can cheer Nagisa up, so he tells Pollun to try again. Spical grants another wish, which summons miniature Santa Clauses floating around in the room, which Mepple again is unsatisfied with.
Spical has light blue hair that looks like a swirly soft serve ice cream pointing diagonally towards her left side, with yellow star ornaments on her hair. She has blue eyes and a yellow star on her forehead. She wears a light blue princess gown that covers her whole body.
Spical might be named after Spica (スピカ )?, one of the brightest stars in the night sky. This might be why she has a star motif, and is able to grant wishes, akin to a wishing star.
In the original Japanese, it is unknown who she was voiced by, as her voice actor likely voiced another more prominent character that episode, and thus Spical was not specifically listed in the credits. In the Canadian English dub, Sparkle was voiced by Jasmine Dobranski, who voiced Summer.
Dr. Blekiston[]
Dr. Blekiston (ブレキストン博士 )? (Dr. Bomium in the Canadian English dub) was a man who has long been deceased by the time of Futari wa Pretty Cure. He was a physicist Honoka greatly admires. In the subtitles provided by Nippon Golden Network that Crunchyroll uses, he is named Dr. Breckston.
He first appeared in the third episode of the first season, albeit as just a photograph. When Honoka invites Nagisa back to her home, the visiting girl notices a photo turned over and wonders if it's Honoka's boyfriend, only to find a photo of Dr. Blekiston, wondering who he is. Later, in the twelfth episode, when Poisony creates an illusion to try and manipulate Honoka into giving away her Card Commune, she creates an illusion of Dr. Blekiston, who talks to Honoka, knowing her name and all. Honoka is confused as to why the doctor is here, as she notes he died several decades ago, to which he responds he was left with one regret, and that her giving him the Card Commune would help him complete his research. She almost gives it to him, only to be snapped out of it by her grandmother.
He has grayish white hair that sticks out from his head as if he was just shocked with static electricity. He also has a grayish white moustache and beard. He wears glasses. He seems to be loosely based on the real-life physicist Albert Einstein, who also had messy hair and, in an infamous photo, stuck his tongue out, much like the photo of Dr. Blekiston that Honoka has.
His name, Blekiston, might derive from Blakiston (ブラキストン )?, as in, Thomas Blakiston, an English explorer and naturalist who spent time in Japan and became one of its top naturalists, having the Blakiston's Line named after him. Blekiston and Blakiston are spelled similarly in Japanese, off by one character, though the character and real-life person do not have much in common.
In the original Japanese, he was voiced by Furumata Issei, who also voiced Ilkubo this season. In the Canadian English dub, he was voiced by Tony Valdez.
Mario Piccalini[]
Mario Piccalini (マリオ・ピッカリーニ )? was a man who has long been deceased by the time of Futari wa Pretty Cure. He was an Italian artist that Kashiwada Mayu greatly admires. He appeared in the fourth episode.
According to Mayu, Piccalini was the third son of a poor farming family, who unlike his brothers, was clumsy with handiwork, and in general was a failure at everything. One night, after being teased in school, Piccalini gazed at the sky, when a series of shooting stars shot across the sky. He made a wish, asking for a talent to be bestowed upon him, when one of the "stars" flies directly towards him, hitting him in the head. The morning after he picked up the "shooting star," he spent his time on the farm primarily drawing, until his talent was eventually recognized around the world. This event became the basis for Piccalini's painting, the "Stardust Banquet," a favorite of Mayu's. Later, when Pisard enters the museum that Nagisa and Honoka's class had just visited, he traps Mayu in the "Stardust Banquet." It's only after the battle that Nagisa and Honoka realize this. As they wonder what to do, Mayu wakes up behind them, not remembering anything other than that she had a dream she was stargazing alongside Piccalini. As the girls head back to the bus, it's revealed that the art tool depicted in Piccalini's painting has "Mayu" written on it.
He has messy short black hair. He wears a long white shirt with suspenders holding up his brown britches, and beige shoes.
It is unknown who he was voiced by in the original Japanese, as his voice actor likely voiced another more prominent character that episode, and thus Piccalini was not specifically listed in the credits. In the Canadian English dub, he was voiced by Will Wood, who also voiced Shawn "Fergie" Ferguson in the anime.
Kimata's grandparents[]
Kimata's grandparents (Kossner's grandparents in the Canadian English dub) are a married couple that appeared in the seventeenth episode of Futari wa Pretty Cure. They own a vegetable farm.
One day, Kimata enlists the help of Fuji-P, Kiriya, Nagisa, and Honoka to help out on his grandparents' farm, as his grandfather recently injured his shoulder and his grandmother can't do all the work on her own. While Kimata's grandmother is grateful for the kids' help, his grandfather acts stubborn, insisting he's fine and refuses to listen to his doctor's orders, before eventually giving in to go inside and get some rest. The group then splits into pairs, with Kimata and his grandmother forming one.
Later on in the day, Nagisa notices Kimata's grandmother bringing a jacket for her husband, claiming that he can't do anything by himself. This gives Nagisa the idea to use the Prism Love Checker on the elderly couple, to test their love. While the old man sees it as nothing more than a worthless device, he is convinced by his wife to test it out. The checker lights up all the way, indicating true love, which Nagisa dismisses as it being broken. The old woman is enthralled by the illuminating device, while her husband sees it as nothing more than a worthless object, causing them to bicker a bit.
The couple's true love is proven when Poisony attacks the farm, causing an earthquake that tips a drawer over inside the house. It's about to fall on Kimata's grandmother, when her husband moves in to protect her despite his injury. When the Zakenna-possessed earthworm breaks into the house, the grandfather grabs a pair of sticks to threaten the worm, as they slowly back up from it. Kimata and Fuji-P soon arrive, throwing rocks at the worm to divert its attention away from the couple. Once things are back to normal, the boys come back to see if the couple is alright, with the grandfather stubbornly brushing aside their concerns, saying it's just a scratch. Immediately, he turns to his wife with concern in his eyes, asking if she's alright, to which she gladly confirms, prompting him to coldly turn away as if to hide his affection. Honoka notes that "you can't always determine the closeness of a relationship just by looking at them," with Mepple adding that the Prism Love Checker's diagnosis turned out correct after all.
The grandmother has dark gray hair tied in a short ponytail. She wears a white blouse with long sleeves and what seems to be pink forearm covers, blue pants, and gray work boots. The grandfather has short light gray hair. He wears a blue long-sleeve button shirt, gray trousers holstered by a belt, and socks with sandals.
In the original Japanese, the grandmother was voiced by Tomoe Seiko, and the grandfather was voiced by Tokumaru Kan. In the Canadian English dub, the grandmother was voiced by Michelle Warkentin, and the grandfather was voiced by Jim Elliot.
Akio and Moko[]
Akio (アキオ )? and Moko (モコ )? (Aidan and Moka in the Canadian English dub) are characters that appeared in the twenty-second episode of Futari wa Pretty Cure. Akio is a young boy and Moko is his pet puppy.
The two used to live with their family at the Sasamori apartment complex. According to a friend of Akio's, the family moved out so that they could have a bigger yard for Akio and Moko to play in. The family used a moving truck to carry all of their belongings to their new place, including Moko, who was placed in a cage. However, when the truck made a sudden stop, the bump caused the cage to fall and accidentally release the puppy. Moko, scared that his family had "trapped" him in a strange location, didn't know what to do, so he escaped from the truck to a nearby riverbank. This is where Chuutaro found him, while on a walk with Honoka one evening.
Later, the girls notice Chuutaro is acting strange, asking for food more frequently and taking the bowl of food with him rather than eating from it. The girls follow and notice him crawl under a space in the house, feeding a puppy. Nagisa goes to retrieve the puppy, and they learn from the collar that his name is Moko, as well as his previous address. They go to the apartment complex but learn that the family had already moved out, unaware of where their new address is.
As the girls interview the humans living at the complex, Chuutaro and Moko conduct their own investigation. Chuutaro sniffs around the playground and picks up on Akio's scent, using this as a lead to head into the city. A friend of Akio's at the complex recognizes Moko, and tells the girls that he likes visiting the planetarium, so they could probably find him there. The girls end up at the planetarium, and check out the wishes made on the Tanabata tree, but fail to notice one by Akio that asks for Moko to come home.
Moko is shown to be a bit of a cheeky puppy, as when he compliments Chuutaro on his great sense of smell, he addresses the older dog in an informal way, which he takes slight offense to. Right after, the dogs arrive at a meat shop, and Moko uses his puppyish charms to manipulate the owner into giving him a skewer. The man almost does, but Chuutaro quickly grabs Moko and runs off. When things start to look bleak, Moko asks if Chuutaro could be his big brother, to which the older dog assures him that they will definitely find his owner. Chuutaro follows the scent of the girls to the planetarium, noticing that dark clouds have enshrouded it. Sensing danger, he and Moko run towards the place. The danger happens to be an attack by the Dotsuku Zone, as Chuutaro barges in to protect Cure White, before running off to grab Moko to safety once the girls have things under control. After the battle, Moko is amazed at what Chuutaro's owner is capable of.
Chuutaro brings the girls the Tanabata wish strip they had forgotten to read, which Akio wrote, and has his new address written on it. The girls are finally able to return Moko to his family, and everyone is grateful. Moko and Chuutaro say their goodbyes.
Moko derives from the onomatopoeia mokomoko (モコモコ )?, meaning something fluffy. Nagisa points this out as she fluffs the puppy, much to it and Chuutaro's dismay.
Akio has short black hair. He wears a red shirt with blue sleeves, white shorts, and red and white sneakers. Moko is a puppy of unknown breed with light brown fur and a black snout.
Moko is one of a few characters who know the true identity of Cure White, and it can be assumed he knows the identity of Cure Black as well.
In the original Japanese, Akio was voiced by Kikuchi Kokoro, who voiced Tabata Nao in the sequel season, and Potpourri in Heartcatch Pretty Cure!. Moko was voiced by Kumai Motoko, who also voiced Coffret in Heartcatch Pretty Cure!. In the Canadian English dub, Aidan was voiced by Kris Rundle, who also voiced Porun, Mrs. Blackstone, and Pandora, and Moka was voiced by Chris Lorincz.
Dotsuku Zone's parrot[]
The parrot (インコ inko)? is a pet bird owned by Belzei Gertrude and the others during the second half of Futari wa Pretty Cure.
When Juna, Regine, and Belzei are finally formed and altogether, they live in a remote mansion with two butler Zakennas and a pet parrot in a cage. It first appeared at the end of the twenty-ninth episode, repeating what Belzei says, which would become a recurring trait of its. After Wisdom is captured by the three Dark Seeds,FwPC30 he is placed in the same birdcage as the parrot. Belzei shakes the cage, asking why the Prism Hopish lacks power, which unsettles the bird. Wisdom calls Belzei an "irritating old man," which the parrot repeats, so Belzei threatens to feed Wisdom to the bird, as it tries to stuff his head in its beak.FwPC31 Wisdom grows annoyed by his cellmate, occasionally telling the bird to shut up when its repetitions get too much. Later, at Nagisa's apartment, Pollun makes a premonition about a "talking bird," which the girls don't understand. The scene then cuts back to the mansion, where Wisdom is trying to goad the parrot into picking the cage open, offering the apples set on the dining table as a reward. The parrot starts to try, only to hurt its beak, with Wisdom claiming it's not his fault, only for the bird to retort it is. Pollun then relays to the girls without context that "it hurts," which seems to imply the parrot attacked Wisdom.FwPC32
In the thirty-sixth episode, Wisdom tries to plan his escape by spilling some of the parrot's birdseed on the floor, prompting the butler Zakennas to come clean it up. The frustrated shorter one tells the taller one to come discipline the bird, so he opens the cage, only to have its finger bitten. The cage is knocked over, and Wisdom is able to escape. Eventually, Wisdom is recaptured and placed back in the cage with the bird. In the fourty-first episode, following a battle with Pretty Cure, where a strange light was extracted from Juna's body, the parrot blurts out that it's "the power of the stones," something he picked up from his conversations with Wisdom. This makes the Dark Seeds realize that Pollun has the power within him.
In the following episode, Belzei lets the bird out and on his shoulder, as he talks about all living things act selfishly for their own freedom, as the bird flies out of the mansion. Later, when Cure Black and Cure White are separated by the darkness, the bird attacks Cure White, who swats it away. The bird is eventually placed back in the cage with Wisdom at the end.
Following the Dark Seeds siphoning the power of creation away from Pollun,FwPC46 the girls head towards their mansion for the final showdown. There, the bird swoops down on them to attack, but Cure Black yells at it, scaring it away.FwPC47 The bird appears in its cage in the following episode, but it's unknown what happens to it after the Evil King is defeated. In Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart, the new villains set up base in the same mansion, with the same butlers, but the bird is no longer there.
The parrot appears to specifically be a blue-and-yellow macaw, an exotic bird native to South America. In the credits for the Canadian English dub, the bird is properly named a "Macaw."
In the original Japanese, the parrot was voiced by Iida Toshinobu, who also voiced Hasekura Kazuki this season. In the Canadian English dub, the macaw was voiced by Jonathan Love, who voiced several characters, such as the taller Zakenna butler, Mr. Whitehouse, Mr. Blackstone, and the Elder.
Megumi[]
Megumi (メグミ )? is a student at Verone Academy that plays lacrosse in the same team with Nagisa. She started out as a second-year student and moved up to a third-year in Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart.
She appeared in the original Futari wa Pretty Cure, but mostly in cameo appearances, such as in the seventh episode where she is one of the teammates running by the lineup of Nagisa and the others to high five them. Her most prominent appearance this season was in the thirty-third episode, where she looks for Nagisa but returns to Yumiko empty-handed, who decides to have Megumi take the missing girl's place during the first half of the game. When Nagisa returns, she gets tagged in by Megumi. Later, in the fourty-first episode, she briefly appears at the end when Verone wins, celebrating with the others, though only her back is shown.
In the sequel, she becomes a more prominent character. Her first and major appearance is in the eleventh episode, where she argues with Maki, a girl on the team her junior, over how she plays and acts. Maki retorts that Megumi is always nervous because she's unconfident. Once the match against Namonai begins, Megumi intercepts a pass by the other team and tries to pass the ball to Maki, only for the younger girl to miss the catch, causing the two to argue again. During halftime, Nagisa gets an idea from Hikari to have everyone in the team hold hands to try and make peace. When the match resumes, Nagisa passes the ball to Maki, who in turn passes it to Megumi, who is then able to score for Verone. She thanks Maki for having good timing, and once Verone eventually wins the match, the two clink their lacrosse sticks in celebration.
In the twenty-fourth episode, Megumi participates in the team's summer camp retreat. She is seen practicing throwing the ball, and is in the practice match that Yuka joins in. Her relationship with Maki has improved after the eleventh episode, as in the thirty-first episode, the two practice making scores together, complimenting each other but also remaining competitive as they race back to Nagisa. The next day, Megumi partcipates in the match against Kakutokandai, where Rina passes the ball to her, but a girl from the other team intercepts and allows Kakutokandai to score. During halftime, Nagisa has the team change positions, with Maki taking offense and Megumi assisting her. Verone eventually wins and Megumi and Maki hug in celebration.
In the thirty-eight and thirty-ninth episodes, Megumi appears in some practice matches, and in the latter episode specifically, she participates in the championship match against Otagaku. As the match starts, she takes control of the ball, passing it to Maki, but she is intercepted by Kimura from the opposing team, who scores. The match eventually ends with Verone winning, as Megumi and Maki high five in celebration. In the fourty-third episode, she appears with the rest of the lacrosse team and science club as they throw a surprise graduation party for their former team captain Nagisa and club president Honoka. She also appears in the group photo at the end. As a third-year herself, Megumi graduates in the final episode, and though she is not of the Sakura class, she barges in on their group photo, along with Maki and Yuriko.
Megumi is a girl with brownish black hair tied into a low ponytail. Her eyes are the same color. When she plays lacrosse, she has some of her hair up and a towel wrapped around her head. Usually the towel is either the color white or pink, though in one occasion, it was blue.FwPC07 She is rarely seen in her school uniform, only on a few occasions.FwPCMH43 During the first season, her uniform number is "11," while in the sequel, she adopts her former captain Yumiko's "9."
She was voiced by Nishino Yoko, who also voiced Higashiyama Seika in Suite Pretty Cure♪.
She shares her given name with Yumehara Megumi from Yes! Pretty Cure 5 and Aino Megumi from Happiness Charge Pretty Cure!
Nakao[]
Nakao (中尾 )? is a character that appeared in Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart. He was a junior colleague of Fujita Akane's when she used to work at a company before becoming a takoyaki vendor.
He first appeared in the sixth episode, where he visits the Tako Café to ask Akane a favor that she finds difficult to turn down from him. She sends the girls out on a shopping trip to a supermarket that's further away than usual, so she and Nakao can have a private conversation. The girls find this suspicious, with Nagisa wondering if Nakao is Akane's boyfriend, and Hikari noting that Akane was happy when she first saw him arrive. As the girls are still away, Nakao leaves, telling Akane he awaits her response. In the following episode, Nakao arrives at the café again, and Akane properly introduces him to the girls as her junior colleague at her former workplace. As she talks about the reason why she left to run her own takoyaki business, Nakao looks a little sad. Later, as Hikari arrives back from the battle, she overhears Nakao suggest to Akane that she close the café and come back to work at the company, taking on the helm of the project she originally started. He is insistent, saying that everyone back at the company is waiting for her. As he makes his leave, he says he will come back another time.
In the eight episode, Hikari asks Akane if she's going to close the café, which Akane denies, only for Nakao to appear again. Akane spends the episode thinking over the decision. The girls tell Akane if there's anything that's worrying her, she can talk to them about it, which Akane responds that she's already decided on what she plans to do. Just at that moment, Nakao returns. Akane tells Nakao that they'll both follow their own paths, and that the café is something precious to her. Nakao thanks her for her answer, noting that he expected her to decide this way, but is relieved to have some closure. He then asks about the other thing he asked her offscreen, which Akane gets embarrassed by, and moves him far away from the girls so they can talk privately. As the two walk away, Nakao mentions that it's "just a date."
He has short brown hair and eyes. He wears a full black business suit with a light green tie underneath.
He was voiced by Taki Satoshi, who also voiced the taller Butler Zakenna this season and the previous.
Nonomiya[]
Nonomiya (野々宮 )? is a character that appeared in Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart. She is a first-year student at Verone Academy that is apart of the science club Honoka is president of.
She first appeared in the ninth episode, where during science club, she's distracted talking to the other students, only to bump her elbow into a beaker that falls and breaks on the ground. Honoka yells at her, as she reminded her earlier to keep her eyes on her experiment. This unsettles Nonomiya, to the point that she's considering quitting the science club. Yuriko tells Honoka not to worry as she'll try talking to her. Later, Yuriko brings Nonomiya ice cream, as they discuss the incident from the previous day. That evening, as Honoka and the others celebrate her birthday at the Tako Café, Yuriko brings Nonomiya over, who apologizes for not taking her experiment seriously. Honoka accepts, and invites the two to celebrate her birthday with the rest of them.
In the seventeenth episode, the science club holds a vote on what project they will present at the upcoming science fair, but everyone is indecisive. Nonomiya suggests that since the club did a presentation on lightning last year,FwPC13 they should redo that one since it won the grand prize. Eventually, Honoka decides on doing the trash project she wanted to do, rather than a repeat of last year. On the day of the presentation, Honoka and Yuriko arrive just in time. However, because they were attacked by the Dotsuku Zone, the remote control made for the project ended up broken. Yuriko asks to borrow Nonomiya's bike to quickly go back and grab the remote control device Honoka made for Akane's Tako Café, which works almost like a replacement. During the actual presentation, Nonomiya is on stage with one other girl by the project as Honoka speaks at the lectern. The remote control starts to malfunction a bit, but the presentation ends up being a success. Honoka feels embarassed, but Nonomiya notes that doing this project has made her like the science club even more.

She first appeared in the eleventh episode, where she argues with Megumi, a girl on the team her senior, over how the younger girl plays and acts. Maki retorts that Megumi is always nervous because she's unconfident. Once the match against Namonai begins, Megumi intercepts a pass by the other team and tries to pass the ball to Maki, only for her to miss the catch, causing the two to argue again.

In the fourty-third episode, as Nagisa is soon to graduate, Maki is made team captain for the following year. Later, when business at the Tako Café remains slow during the highlands festival, Bell appears from the bushes behind the truck, approaching Hikari, as the girls believe it must have escaped from its enclosure just to see her. Bell is covered in several flowers, which Hikari cleans off of it. When Honoka says that they are all highland flowers, Hikari is given the idea to theme the menu items around the native flora. Business begins to boom, but also in part due to the children wanting to play with Bell, who stays by the café.

One day, tired of his mother's nagging, Daiki bikes a long way from home with no real destination in mind, wanting to become a man and do things his own way, which is he wrote on a wish strip attached to a Tanabata branch on his bike, as it is the holiday.
Daiki almost runs into Hikari, causing her to drop her oranges, so he goes and picks them up for her. She thanks him, and as he continues past, Pollun comments on the amount of luggage on him. Later, he arrives at the Tako Café, but abstains from eating as he reminds himself to save money for the road ahead. As Hikari waits on a table, she sees Daiki leave, so she chases after him to give him some takoyaki as thanks. He enjoys the food and the two get acquainted. Hikari takes interest in his bike, so he tells her about his parents, asking if she can relate, but Hikari says she only has Akane as a guardian rather than parents. He mistakenly takes this as her implying she's an orphan, so he apologizes, but Hikari is confused.
After eating, the two go to some of Hikari's favorite places. They go to a hill overlooking the city, as Daiki is amazed by it in contrast to his hometown. They watch the clouds and he sees a bird and wishes he could fly and be free just like it, but Hikari points out that it's because the bird has a place to rest that it can continue to fly. By the riverbank, Daiki finds a translucent stone, as finding such things is his specialty and something he's done with his mom. Hikari wonders if they got along, but he tries to deny it. Daiki later gives the stone to Hikari.

As Daiki eats more takoyaki, he is reminded of his mother by Akane, so he wonders if she's currently worrying about his whereabouts, to which Hikari agrees. He decides to go back to his hometown, with Akane noting that the first step into manhood is understanding the value of your parents. Hikari holds the stone Daiki gave her over him pedaling off into the sunset, saying it contains precious memories.
Later that night, Daiki arrives back to his house, where his parents are waiting. His mother hits him in the head but soon hugs him, as they all head inside. It's revealed that Hikari tied her own wish strip to Daiki's branch, wishing for him to make up with his mother.

The girls arrive at Mitoya to find the old lady running the shop kindly sitting down with two kids, serving them a plate of dango and reminding them to blow on it to cool it off before eating. She recognizes Honoka, as the girls thank her for the dango earlier. When the girls say they intend to interview her, she acts modest but ultimately agrees. She explains the process of making dango to them, noting that she makes them by herself daily. When Rina points out that they have machines to automate the process now, the old lady says that she prefers to do it handmade as she enjoys putting her heart into each dango and seeing her customer's smiles. The girls thank the old lady for her cooperation and say they'll be return customers, but the old lady sadly admits that she might be closing up shop due to her age and business being on a downturn. Her sons are worried about her and she thinks it's time to retire and get along with her daughter-in-laws. The girls are sad, but this motivates Honoka to write a glowing profile of the old lady in the school paper.
One day, after the paper is published, the girls go to Mitoya to enjoy sweets there while it lasts. The old lady tells them she read their column in the paper, flattered, and says that it made her think. Nozomi then plays house with the two fairies, talking about going on a drive, which makes her upset, as she pulls out a broken model car from under her bed. It's revealed that the reason Nozomi doesn't want to see her dad is because she broke one of his model cars. Mimi then takes a broken piece from the car and runs off, with Nozomi chasing after it. This gives the fairies a chance to escape, but they stay, feeling sorry for Nozomi. They try to fix the car by themselves, but to no avail. Soon after, Nozomi returns. Her mother tells her that they're going to pick up their dad soon, but the girl is still apprehensive, so she runs out of the house with the fairies in her backpack.

After the battle, Nozomi wakes up and finds the two fairies in her backpack, knowing that they spoke to her earlier. She waits on a park bench for her parents, who arrive worried over her whereabouts. She then pulls the broken model car out from her backpack, apologizing to her father with tears in her eyes. According to Nagisa and the others, Nagasawa runs a tight ship as captain, changing their team color and pattern, and perfecting their formations to the point of being dubbed Otagaku's "super computer." Despite this, Nagasawa is not cold, as she makes the effort to formally introduce herself to Nagisa ahead of the upcoming match between their schools. They are both honored to play each other, and Nagisa even invites Nagasawa to join them at the Tako Café. Nagasawa is surprised by Nagisa's warmness and happy-go-lucky demeanor, such as when she refers to them as comrades-in-arms in regards to lacrosse. Nagasawa admits that she spent most of her time as a first-year lacrosse player on the bench, jealous of Nagisa, who she calls a "star player," and has forgotten why she started playing.
On the day of the match, as Nagisa and her team display act upbeat, Nagasawa just tells her team to remember their patterns. Once the match begins, Otagaku intercepts the ball from Verone, as it is passed to Nagasawa, who makes the scoring shot. Despite this, she criticizes Yamanaka, the girl who passed the ball to her, as her pass position was too late.
During the halftime, Nagasawa watches Nagisa and her team laugh, confused as to how they could during the championships. She wonders if she's too focused on winning, so she calls for a team meeting, where she tells them all that they should keep playing lacrosse their own way, and begins to compliment a few of her players, before telling the team to take any opportunity they can to shoot but try to maintain their formation. She ends the pep talk by telling them all to do their best and finish strong.
Once the second half begins, Nagasawa passes the ball to Yamanaka, who passes it to Kimura, a teammate of hers, who makes the scoring shot against Verone. With about 50 seconds left in the game, Nagasawa guards Nagisa, but she is able to pass the ball through her to Shiho, who then passes the ball back to Nagisa who is then able to score the winning point. During practice, she wears a white shirt with the number 2 on it and a red shirt underneath with sleeves sticking out, a blue armband with the letter C representing her status as captain, a yellow skirt with black shorts underneath, white socks, and blue and orange shoes. Nagasawa goes over the formation and tells Yamanaka she shot too early.
Once the match between Otagaku and Verone begins, Megumi tries to pass the ball to Maki, but Kimura intercepts and passes it to Yamanaka, who passes it to Nagasawa, and she scores in the goal. Despite this, she criticizes the last girl for her late pass position. As the match continues, Nagisa passes the ball to Shiho, who is surrounded by both Yamanaka and Kimura. Shiho makes a random shot, which through sheer luck manages to get in the goal.
During the halftime, Nagasawa decides to be less hard on her team. She starts by complimenting Kimura for her passes in the first half, and reassures Yamanaka that she'll get another chance to perfect her pass. Once the second half begins, Nagasawa passes the ball to Yamanaka, who passes it to Kimura, who then scores in the goal. Eventually, Verone wins the championship match. Shibata Yuuji and Takada[]
Shibata Yuuji (柴田祐二 )? and Takada (高田 )? are characters that appeared in the fourtieth episode of Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart. They are boys from the same school on the local badminton club that Ryouta tries out for.
Ryouta watches Takada score against his opponent, saying he's amazing, with Shibata next to him saying that Takada won the sports festival at their school. Shibata and Ryouta then introduce themselves, the two trying out for the first time, and having played lacrosse with their dads since they were little. Despite this, Takada is worried about the high level of play at the club.
Once tryouts begin, the coach arranges everyone in pairs to play doubles, with Ryouta and Shibata forming a pair. However, they are immediately pitted against Takada and Matsumoto, another boy, which scares them. Just then, Takada appears behind the two, juggling a birdie, telling them he looks forward to their match. While Ryouta is embarrassed by Nagisa's overbearingness, Shibata thinks it's rather nice she came out this way to support him.
The match begins, but Takada's team scores the first two points. Nagisa continues to shout at Ryouta, which further embarrasses him and draws everyone's attention to her. As the match continues, Ryouta and Shibata remain on the back foot, as they have only scored 7 points to Takada and Matsumoto's 10. Shibata apologizes to Ryouta, but he says it's fine. Nagisa notices that the two are too tense and need to relax more, so she calls for a timeout claiming her brother's shoelaces are untied, which they are not. After giving him a pep talk, Ryouta tells Shibata that they should just play for fun, rather than to try and win. The two play better, but the match is interrupted by Viblis, who makes everyone but the girls and fairies disappear.
After the battle, the match continues, with both sides doing well, but it ultimately ends in a win for Takada's team. Ryouta and Shibata are disappointed, but they note they had fun. Just then, the coach comes over to offer the two a chance to practice with the club next week, as Takada and Matsumoto note they also had fun playing them. Ryouta and Shibata happily accept.

In a shot of the tryout brackets, it's revealed that Takada's given name is "憲," which can mean one of several names, such as Akira or Ken. As his given name is not said out loud or written in furigana, it is difficult to determine what exactly that is. This bracket is also where Matsumoto Kazuo (松本和男 )?, whose name is not mentioned in the script or credits at all, comes from.
