Please Recognize Our Pretty Cure Spirit! (認めてくださいっ!私たちのプリキュア魂!! Mitomete Kudasai! Watashi-Tachi no Purikyua Tamashī!!?) is the 17th episode for the season Heartcatch Pretty Cure! and also the 309th episode of the Pretty Cure franchise overall.

Synopsis[]

When Yuri coldly rejects Tsubomi and Erika as trustworthy Pretty Cure, they try to make her reconsider.

Summary[]

Tsubomi invites Erika to her grandmother's botanical garden to see the rare otome lilies. There they meet former Pretty Cure Tsukikage Yuri. It seems Tsubomi's grandmother, Kaoruko, may have invited them all intentionally to give them an excuse to meet, and when she runs out of tea, she suggests the three girls go together to buy some more.

Tsubomi and Erika ask Yuri for advice on being a Pretty Cure, but Yuri refuses. She warns that their fight will only get more dangerous, and questions the girls' resolve, refusing to even acknowledge them as Pretty Cure.

They arrive at a Japanese sweets store, Wagashi Harano, famed for their daifuku buns. Masahiro Harano, heir to the family business, fights with his father and grandfather, who feel he has failed to master the traditional taste of Harano daifuku. As they leave, Masahiro offers them a free sample of his recipe to have Kaoruko try it.

Erika loves the buns, but Kaoruko, a long-time customer of the store, finds that they fail to live up to the usual standard, and Masahiro has a long way to go before he lives up to his family's standard. Tsubomi wonders if she and Erika have a long way to go, too.

That night, Tsubomi has the dream about Cure Moonlight's defeat again, and asks Kaoruko for advice. She tells Tsubomi how the Desert Apostles have attempted to take over the world multiple times in its history, and the Pretty Cures rose to stop them. Kaoruko was studying the Heart Tree when she was chosen to become Cure Flower, and defeated the Desert Apostles. Cure Moonlight later attempted the same feat, but failed due to powerful new enemies, Dark Pretty Cure and Professor Sabaku. Tsubomi wonders if she will ever be strong enough for Moonlight to accept her, but Kaoruko questions whether strength is most important thing, and encourages Tsubomi to find the answer for herself.

Meanwhile, Masahiro works late producing daifuku, but the next morning, his father and grandfather reject his work, even though he believes he followed the recipe exactly. He runs off, and Sasorina appears to steal his Heart Flower, using it to create a daifuku-making Desertrian.

Tsubomi and Erika transform into Cure Blossom and Cure Marine to fight the Desertrian. Yuri is also there and wishes to help fight, clutching the fragment of her Pretty Cure Seed, but she cannot transform. The Desertrian attacks Blossom and Marine with bean paste and pins them to the wall with wind from his apron.

Blossom argues that Masahiro's primary goal shouldn't be seeking acknowledgement from his seniors, but fulfilling his role by making delicious sweets for his customers. This stops the Desertrian, and Tsubomi continues by saying that hard work is worth it even when it goes acknowledged.

The Desertrian attacks Blossom and Marine, but Yuri steps in and uses her Pretty Cure Seed fragment to project a shield, forming a blast to knock the Desertrian over. This gives Blossom and Marine an opportunity to defeat the Desertrian with Floral Power Fortissimo, and they return Masahiro's Heart Flower.

Masahiro returns to the store, and acknowledges that Japanese sweets are made for the customer's gratitude. Chypre produces a Heart Seed, and Tsubomi notes that in the language of flowers, Masahiro's Heart Flower, azalea, means "passion". She looks forward to Masahiro's daifuku.
