A Flightless Bird And The Strange Boy (飛べない鳥と、ふしぎな少年 Tobenai Tori to, Fushigi na Shōnen)? is the 8th episode of Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure and is the 926th episode of the Pretty Cure franchise overall.
Summary[]
A strange boy enters the room and speaks to Ellee. It turns out he's a boy named Tsubasa, a member of the Puni Bird Tribe. What is Tsubasa's reason for not going home to Sky Land?

Synopsis[]
An orange bird named Tsubasa is watching the other birds migrate in the sky. Meanwhile, Ellee-chan is getting her rattle. When she falls, Tsubasa, in human form, rushes into the room to help her, but quickly hides when Sora walks in.
At dinner, Sora is convinced that there was someone in her room talking to Ellee-chan. She tells Mashiro that in her hometown, they have talking birds that are very close-knit with humans. At night when Sora finishes her homework and waits outside, Tsubasa enters the room again and Sora quickly catches him red-handed. Despite Tsubasa's escape outside the window, Sora catches him again, only to realize that he's in his bird form. In the living room, Tsubasa introduces himself and reveals that he is from the Puni Bird Tribe from Sky Land. He explains to Sora and Mashiro how he ended up living with Yoyo, but ends up making Sora suspicious of him.
The next morning, Tsubasa and Sora watch Ellee-chan try to stand up by herself, and both rush in to catch Ellee-chan when she falls. Yoyo then approaches them and takes the pair to Tsubasa's research room. There, Tsubasa shows an aerodynamics book and explains his past to Sora, which puts him and Sora on good terms. Sora, moved by Tsubasa's story, wants to be Tsubasa's friend due to their common working attitudes. However, their bonding time with Ellee-chan is cut short when Kabaton arrives with a Ranborg.
Sora and Mashiro transform into Pretty Cure while Tsubasa looks after Ellee-chan. Despite Tsubasa's best efforts to hold onto her, Ellee-chan follows the Cures. Yoyo gets a call from Ageha that she will now look after Ellee-chan. Tsubasa thinks for a moment, before reading the wind and attempting to fly himself.

- Whenever a big storm happens, a tunnel between Sky Land and Sorashido City briefly opens, which is how Tsubasa ended up in the latter.
