A Mega Ranborg Explosion!? Protect Sky Land! (超巨大ランボーグ大爆発！？守れスカイランド！ Chōkyodai Ranbōgu Dai Bakuhatsu!? Mamore Sukai Rando!)? is the 15th episode of Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure and is the 933rd episode of the Pretty Cure franchise overall.
Summary[]
Sky Land is continually attacked by Ranborgs. Sora and the Azure Guards defeat them, but Battamonda collects their energy and puts Sky Land into a crisis.

Synopsis[]
Multiple Ranborgs have started attacking Sky Land, but Cure Sky and the Azure Guards easily defeat them all. The King and Queen congratulate them for beating them all and hope they will continue to protect their citizens.
Later on, in the hinterlands, Captain Shalala learns of a wild moose injuring the villagers, only to find Sora getting on the moose and trying to calm it down. Shalala tries to help, but Sora says that the moose's leg is injured, which is why it's been acting out. Unfortunately, the moose slams into a cliff face, knocking Sora off.
Sora awakens when Shalala joins her after helping wrap the moose's leg. She also tells Sora that it's just as important to patrol other areas of Sky Land as it is to fight for them. Sora then recalls when Shalala rescued her ten years ago and she gave her a Sky Jewel chip as a thank-you gift. Shalala then shows Sora that she made it into a pendant and suggests that perhaps they met again thanks to it. Sora smiles, believing that could be the reason.
Back in the palace, Tsubasa's parents, Kakeru & Puwa, visit Tsubasa while he's reading Ellee-chan a story. They all turn back into birds and ask why Tsubasa hadn't come to visit them first. Tsubasa quickly becomes embarrassed by them still treating him like a baby and hopes no one seems him like this when Mashiro enters. He then introduces Mashiro to his parents and they automatically assume the two are married, which flusters Tsubasa even more.
Later, Mashiro lets Tsubasa and Ellee-chan know she will be returning to Sorashido City the next day, thinking Sky Land will be fine without her. She is confident that her other friends will help defend it and that they'll still be able to meet up with each other using the tunnel. Finally, she comforts Ellee-chan and hopes she won't forget her.
Outside, Battamonda calls upon the Undergu Energy, which shoots up from the ground and coalesces into a giant bomb-like Ranborg. As it turns out, Battamonda knew they were going to defeat all the other Ranborgs, and since they weren't purified, their energy still lingered. The Azure Guards and the King and Queen watch in horror while Sora and Shalala rush back to the city.
While the Azure Guards get the citizens to evacuate, Wing patrols the skies to find the Ranborg. When he does, he notices that it's growing bigger, but the Ranborg knocks him down with one of his tentacles. Sora and Shalala learn from the King and Queen that Battamonda left a note saying he'll have the Ranborg explode and envelope Sky Land in darkness in one hour unless they hand over Ellee-chan. After Mashiro comes back with a severely injured Tsubasa, Shalala suggests that Sora and Mashiro should try to use Updraft Shining to purify the Ranborg before it could explode, and the two agree.
Sora and Mashiro transform into Cure Sky and Cure Prism and immediately use Updraft Shining on the Ranborg while everyone hopes it can work despite its size. However, the Ranborg grows tentacles and grabs onto the saucer, causing it to crack. The Cures begin to struggle to keep the attack up, but they still won't give up. While the others watch, Shalala leaves and prepares to help the Cures out herself. She gets on Washion and flies into battle.
Sky notices Shalala unsheathing her sword, declaring that she'll do what's right to the very end no matter how strong her opponent is. She then goes into battle and slashes the Ranborg's hands off. The Cures celebrate, but the attack leaves Shalala in a free fall. Sky can only watch in horror as the Ranborg blasts Shalala with lots of Undergu Energy, but not before her telling Sky that it's hero time. Seeing Shalala getting hit point blank causes Sky to scream in anguish. However, it inspires her and Prism to get back on their feet and summon all the power they have to perform Updraft Shining one more time and finally purify the Ranborg. The two then collapse after using up all their energy.
An angry Battamonda suddenly appears in the palace and starts to throw a tantrum about him losing to such weaklings. After smacking Tsubasa away, Battamonda politely asks the King and Queen to hand over Ellee-chan, but they refuse. It is then that Battamonda curses the King and Queen, leaving them comatose. Saddened, Ellee-chan tries to escape and sees Sky and Prism lying on the ground. Remembering all the good times she had with Sora, Ellee-chan screams out her name. Sky wakes up and quickly crashes into the palace and angrily shouts that she will never forgive Battamonda if he touches Ellee-chan. Realizing that Sky means it, Battamonda retreats. A saddened Ellee-chan then walks towards Sky for comfort.
That night, the Azure Guards start searching for Shalala, and Beryberie tells Sora she can rest after what happened. Meanwhile, the others watch over the King and Queen, who remain in a coma thanks to the curse. Sora joins them and says they should go back to Sorashido City so Yoyo can find a way to heal them and to keep Ellee-chan safe. She also feels confident that she'll reunite with Shalala soon because of a letter and the pendant she left for Sora.
The next day, the Cures leave to return to Sorashido City and Sora hopes she and Shalala will meet again.

- The opening has been updated to show Captain Shalala's face.
- Cure Lovely appears before the ending, and scenes from her transformation are seen in the Mirror Pad.
- The bird Captain Shalala rides on before her disappearance is called "Washion".
- Kushida Yasumichi passed away on April 1st, 2023, making his performance as Shido Hatewataru in this episode a posthumous release. As such, this is the only episode he voices Shido, with Hoshino Takanori succeeding him in the role as of episode 23.
