Synopsis[]

After returning to Sorashido City, the Cures explain to Ageha everything that happened. They are all still anxious about yesterday's events when Yoyo serves them tea. She also explains that a long time ago, Sky Land and the Undergu Empire were at war with each other and haven't interacted since, but she hasn't been able to figure out why the empire is targeting Ellee-chan. However, she has figured out how to lift the curse the King and Queen are under by collecting the Kira Kira Energy that appears after a Ranborg is purified using the Mirror Pad and making medicine with it. The Cures are happy, but hearing the words "mama and papa" causes Ellee-chan to remember what happened to them and she starts to cry, but Ageha knows exactly how to cheer her up.

Ageha decides they should put on a play using puppets she made in class. She then shows Ellee-chan many different fairy tales she can choose from, and she eventually selects Momotaro. After the Cures make their own puppets, it is time for the puppet play to begin. Ageha takes several liberties with the story, changing it to fit Ellee-chan, or "Elleetaro". She is born from a cloud instead of a peach and Ageha adds a princess character who gets kidnapped by the ogre. Nonetheless, Ellee-chan becomes really invested in the story.

The story continues, with Elleetaro going to rescue the princess while carrying a basket of Cloud Bread. She is soon joined by a dog, played by Sora, a monkey, played by Mashiro, and a pheasant, played by Tsubasa. The play goes well at first and everyone is having a good time until they get to when they go rescue Princess Ageha from the ogres. As it plays out, they remember the last battle and Captain Shalala's sacrifice. The mood in the room suddenly turns somber, which makes Ellee-chan cry again. They try to comfort her when they realize their sadness is what's making Ellee-chan upset. Ageha then cheers Ellee-chan up with her Elleetaro puppet, and Sora decides to continue the play. Meanwhile, Battamonda arrives at the park to cause trouble.

The play continues, but Sora gets too carried away and ends up tearing down the stage. While they fix it, Ellee-chan stands up and walks on her own and says everyone's names. They are all touched by what she said when they all realize that she's the one cheering them up while they tried to make her happy. Sora says if they all work together, they can protect Ellee-chan and save Sky Land.

Just then, they receive a call from Sky Land via the Mirror Pad. Ariri has heard from Yoyo about the King and Queen and that the citizens are moving forward with hope in their hearts, while Beryberie says it's the Cures' duty to care for Ellee-chan. Suddenly, a flock of birds appear at their window and Tsubasa talks to them, and they learn that Battamonda is at the park. Once they get there, Battamonda greets them while Ageha hides with Ellee-chan. Battamonda says his new goal is to defeat the Cures and turns the ogre statue into a Ranborg. After everyone evacuates, the Cures transform.

The Ranborg proves to be formidable at first, striking Sky with its club and also using it to deflect Prism's attacks back at the others. It eventually knocks the Cures out by firing multiple laser bombs out of its chest and destroying the park. Battamonda then mocks what happened to Sky Land, which enrages Sky, telling him that its people are still moving forward despite it all and they will do the same. Ellee-chan cheers the Cures on as they get back up. Prism uses one of her light spheres to blind the Ranborg, allowing Wing to knock the club out its hands and Sky to land a strong punch before she and Prism purify it with Updraft Shining. Sky then collects the Kira Kira Energy with the Mirror Pad. Battamonda is angry at first, but he compliments the Cures' strong fighting before retreating.

On their way back, the Cures thank Ellee-chan for cheering them up. Ellee-chan then decides she wants to walk, and everyone starts to follow her while singing the "Elleetaro" song from the puppet play. Sora's stomach starts to growl and they all agree on hamburger steak, croquettes, and Cloud Bread.

Trivia[]

  • Cure Wing appears before the ending, and scenes from his transformation are seen in the Mirror Pad.
  • The episode's airdate coincides with Tsubasa's birthday.
  • It's revealed the opposing force to Underg Energy is called KiraKira Energy (キラキラエネルギー)?.
  • The episode's play is a retelling of the Japanese folktale, Momotaro. Ellee-chan plays the role of Momotaro, being born from a floating peach. Cloud Bread replaces the millet dumplings Momotaro offers to the dog, pheasant, and monkey. Tsubasa plays the pheasant, due to being a bird fairy. Mashiro plays the monkey, as a pun on her name (mashira is an old Japanese name for monkey, specifically, the Japanese macaque). Sora plays the dog because she's heroic and loyal like a dog. This episode's Ranborg is based on an oni, like the antagonist from Momotaro.
