Battamonda's Final Strategy! (バッタモンダー最後の秘策！ Battamondā Saigo no Hisaku!)? is the 22nd episode of Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure and is the 940th episode of the Pretty Cure franchise overall.
Summary[]
In Sky Land, many people are spotting a woman in a blue cape, just like Captain Shalala. While out shopping with everyone, Sora spots a woman in a blue cape too and chases after her.
Major Events[]
- Battamonda reveals that he infused Captain Shalala with Undergu Energy, turning her into a Ranborg with a strong possibility of her dying if it were to be purified.
- Because of this, Sora becomes too traumatized to fight, making her Mirage Pen disappear and her Sky Tone lose its power.
Synopsis[]
While Tsubasa and Ellee-chan play outside, the rest of the Cures learn from Vice Captain Ariri that the King and Queen on Sky Land are still asleep and their people are growing more concerned. The Cures also haven't collected enough Kira Kira Energy yet to make the antidote. Suddenly, Beryberie interrupts Ariri with new information about Captain Shalala.
There have been reports of sightings of Captain Shalala throughout Sky Land, but the problem is she disappears as soon as someone witnesses her. Mashiro is skeptical, but still wants them to find as much information as they can. Later, Sora begins to copy the memo Shalala sent in her notebook when Mashiro and Ellee-chan accidentally interrupt her. She shows them the memo, which reads "never falter, hero girl". Sora believes that she must follow everything she has written down in her notebook and becomes concerned about whatever she could keep moving forward if anything happened to Shalala. Still, Sora remembers what Mashiro said earlier and realizes she can keep doing so with her by her side.
The Cures are on their way back from a shopping trip when Sora suddenly sees Captain Shalala. The others are confused because they can't see her, but Sora drops her groceries and runs towards Shalala. Sora continues to chase after Shalala for a while until she stops in the middle of an empty field. Sora happily calls out to her hero when Shalala unsheathes her sword and attacks her. Before it could connect, Shalala suddenly disappears in a cloud of smoke. It is soon revealed that it was an illusion created by Battamonda to mess with Sora.
Battamonda takes sadistic glee in tricking Sora because he bears a huge grudge against Sora after she threatened him during their confrontation in Sky Land's palace. He claims that he was kind at first, but Sora's words planted a dark hatred within him. Just then, a Ranborg emerges from the ground and Sora transforms. Sky scolds Battamonda for hiding behind a Ranborg as she starts the duel. The Ranborg summons a sword and is surprisingly proficient with it. However, Sky's punching attacks eventually help her knock it over. Just when it looks like Sky won, the Ranborg turns around and a cape appears on its back. Sky instantly recognizes at as Shalala's cape and becomes shaken. Battamonda then reveals the truth: Shalala is the Ranborg, and with her trapped inside, any of Sky's attacks will hurt her. He orders the Shalalaborg to attack, but Sky is so shocked by the revelation that she doesn't bother to get out of the way and takes the hit while memories of Shalala race through her mind.
The Shalalaborg prepares to deliver the final bow when the other Cures arrive in time. Butterfly uses the power of recovery on Sky while Wing carries her. Sky watches the others battling the Shalalaborg and Sky jumps out of Wing's arms to stand in its way, ordering everyone to stop because of Shalala being inside it. The others are shocked to learn about this and stop their attacks. Sky then tearfully pleads Prism to help her as Prism comforts her. Wing and Butterfly attempt to use Titanic Rainbow Attack to purify it and hopefully free Shalala from the Undergu Energy, but Ellee-chan catches on to something and screams at them to stop before they finish.
Battamonda then reveals another thing: he found a nearly dead Shalala in the forest after leaving Sky Land and uses the Undergu Energy to not only turn her into a Ranborg, but to replace her life blood as well. That means their purification attacks could very well kill Shalala because the energy is the only thing keeping her alive. The Cures are left with two choices: either have the Shalalaborg continue its rampage, or try to purify it and risk killing Shalala. Battamonda sadistically laughs as the Cures remain in shock. The Shalalaborg prepares to finish them off when Undergu Energy starts to leak from its body. Knowing that the energy isn't suitable for humans to use, Battamonda and the Shalalaborg retreat. Still, he takes glee at toying with the Cures' hearts until they shatter.
As the sun sets, the Cures try to come up with a plan to free Shalala without killing her, but Sora isn't sure. Ageha suggests using her power of recovery with the palette, but Sora is afraid it could fail. The others try to encourage her, but Sora has had enough of the hero talk and doesn't want to fight her mentor. As a result, her Mirage Pen disappears and her Sky Tone turns gray and powerless, which devastates everybody.
