Synopsis[]

One day at school, all of the sports clubs' captains ask Sora to join their teams. However, Mashiro and some of her classmates tell them to leave her alone so she could eat her lunch. Sora doesn't plan on joining any clubs because she's focused more on becoming a hero. Just then, the girls' baseball team, led by co-captains Tamaki and Kaname, enter. They are known as the "Tama-Kana" duo and their respective pitching and catching have led the team on a winning streak. The team asks Sora to be their special coach.

Later, Sora and Mashiro meet up with the team during practice. Sora asks why they want her to be their coach, and Tamaki reveals that she hurt her elbow badly and plans to rest before the next tournament. Kaname asks Sora if she could act as their opponent so the team can stronger by playing against someone with her abilities. Sora reads in her diary that a hero should support people who are trying hard, and she decides she will be their coach. There is one problem though: Sora doesn't know what baseball is, which stuns the team.

Kaname first has Sora pitch as hard as she can. When she does, Kaname catches it and falls over because of the power that went into it. Then, Sora tries her hand at batting and ends up knocking the ball out of the park. She also effortlessly catches one of the balls. A member of the team asks why Sora can't join them, but Tamaki says they have all gotten where they are on their own and they will become stronger with Sora's help. Tamaki then leaves to rest her elbow. Sora now loves baseball and the other Cures encourage her to do her best while coaching.

The next day, Sora helps the team to train and improve on their technique. While taking a break, Kaname says it was Tamaki's idea to ask Sora to be their special coach. They then reveal that when Tamaki injured her elbow, she knew that it would affect the team's chances of winning. Despite this, Tamaki she still acted for the team, telling them not to give up. As the team's ace, Tamaki has to work to ensure that they're victorious. Sora then says they will work together to help the team. On the way back home, Sora starts to think that the team's ace is sort of like a hero, and now she hopes to play baseball with Tamaki someday. Sadly, at the hospital, Tamaki learns that she would need to have surgery on her elbow.

The next day, Tamaki informs the team about her surgery and that she will have to go through with it before it gets worse. She wants to have it after the tournament, but Kaname tells her to listen to the doctor. Tamaki is now afraid because not only is their winning streak at risk, but Kaname will be graduating this year, meaning they won't play together anymore. The team starts to cry, but Kaname orders them to stop, and they start to believe that with Sora's help, they can win the game for Tamaki.

That night, Kaname tells Sora how hard Tamaki took not having to play. She explains that as the team's ace, Tamaki would always carry the team and pull them along, and that she didn't want to show fear to anyone. Kaname then says she will be the replacement pitcher for the tournament and promises to win it for Tamaki. The night before, the Cures paint a banner for the tournament, and Sora is starting to feel nervous. She also says that Tamaki's surgery is also tomorrow, and the others decide to support her as well.

The day of the tournament, the Cures arrive, but they soon learn that Tamaki had left the hospital and the team is worried about her. The Cures go and search for Tamaki around the city, and Sora finds her at the school baseball field. Tamaki thinks she's a failure as an ace for her situation and Sora tries to sympathize with her, but Tamaki rebukes her. She's missing out on the tournament because of her surgery and thinks it'll be her fault if the team loses. Suddenly, Skearhead appears and creates a Kyoborg using a pitching machine and a baseball glove. Sora protects Tamaki, knowing what it's like to fight alone, and transforms into Cure Sky in front of her.

As Sky heads into battle, Tamaki is shocked to learn that she is a Pretty Cure When the Kyoborg fires its projectiles, Sky carries Tamaki to safety. Tamaki thinks they should leave, but Sky says that once she also thought it was fine to do things alone, but someone taught her otherwise. Even though Tamaki is the team's ace, she doesn't have to do everything alone. It is then that the other Cures arrive to help Sky. While they fight the Kyoborg, the first game of the tournament begins, and Kaname promises to win it for Tamaki. The Cures' teamwork and Sky's powerful pitch helps them to defeat the Kyoborg before purifying it with Majestic Halation, and Skearhead leaves.

On the way back to the stadium, Tamaki apologizes for what she said and promises Sora she will keep her identity a secret. The team stands outside and Tamaki reunites with them. Kaname tells her they won the first game, and Tamaki is glad, but now it's time for her to go ahead with the surgery. Sora also unfolds a banner supporting Tamaki, and she thanks her. The team eventually makes it to the last round of the tournament and they win.
