Overcome Self Doubt, Naive Hero! (迷いをこえて 未熟なヒーロー！ Mayoi wo Koete Mijuku na Hīrō!)? is the 42nd episode of Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure and is the 960th episode of the Pretty Cure franchise overall.
Summary[]
Shalala has come to Sorashido City to bring back the results of Tsubasa's research. Meanwhile, Sora, who has been distracted since the battle with Skearhead, tells Shalala about what's troubling her.

Tsubasa uses the Mirror Pad to open the tunnel to Sky Land. As this happens, Sora keeps thinking of the previous battle, where Skearhead hinted at the Undergu Empire's motives and called her naïve. It is then that Captain Shalala arrives through the tunnel. At the King's request, she needs the findings of Tsubasa's research.
While he's still not finished, Tsubasa has been researching another way to generate Kira Kira Energy besides purifying Kyoborgs. He says that they could convert Sky Jewels into a lot of Kira Kira Energy so the Mirror Pad can form a barrier around Sky Land to block any enemies from entering. Tsubasa adds that if his research goes well, it can even be possible for the Azure Guards to purify Kyoborgs as well. Everyone is impressed with Tsubasa's findings, and he plans to continue his research for the rest of the day. As everyone waits, Ageha suggests spending some time with Shalala.
Later that day, Shalala goes into town with the Cures while Tsubasa continues working. She notices something is bothering Sora and asks her what she thinks about her outfit, and a nervous Sora says it looks good. They then go to the Sorashido Mall, which Shalala is intrigued by. They buy her a new outfit before returning home. Later, Sora reads an entry in her diary about becoming her own hero with her friends. Mashiro passes by and notices something's wrong. As Sora continues to read it over, Shalala asks her if she has a moment.
Sora and Shalala go outside to do some training. As they stretch, Mashiro hides in the bushes and watches them from afar while Ageha and Ellee-chan join them. Shalala asks Sora what's happening, and Sora is confused at first. Shalala can tell that Sora is lying about something. Then, Tsubasa joins the others hiding in the bushes and listening to the conversation. Sora explains what happened during her fight against Skearhead and how now she doesn't know who or what she's fighting for. Shalala reminds her about becoming her own hero with her friends, but Sora shocks everyone by saying that she wants to find the answer by herself.
Tsubasa attempts to confront Sora because he feel she's being selfish, but Sora says that even though they're her friends, she must look inward for the answers. Tsubasa finally understands what Sora is saying, and they all promise to help her if she needs anything. It is then that Shalala departs back to Sky Land with the research so far. She knows that Sora will find the answer, telling her to never falter before entering the tunnel.
Sora tries to find the answer, but has a very hard time doing it, so the others take her out so she can relax. After stopping at Pretty Holic, they discuss where to go next when Skearhead appears out of nowhere. He has learned about Tsubasa's research and thinks it's a waste of time. He then summons a Kyoborg using a mannequin and a sign, but Sora is spacing out. The others quickly snap her out of it and they transform. The Cures start to fight the Kyoborg, but Sky is hesitant. Wing takes her up to the roof of a building and she wonders why she isn't focusing. While blocking the Kyoborg's sign projectiles, Wings suggests that Sky should just talk to Skearhead. The other Cures meet up with them and agree to help Sky get to him. Butterfly use the power of speed to increase Sky's speed while the rest of them deal with the Kyoborg.
Skearhead watches Sky fly towards him and blasts her back down to the ground. He teleports to Sky while she talks about how and why she's hesitating to fight now. She has thought about what Skearhead said during the last fight and figures that they are both fighting for a loved one, so there's no need for them to be fighting each other. However, Skearhead still finds her naive and hits her again. He then teleports to the top of the building and summons a giant orb of Undergu Energy, telling Sky that her self doubt will cause the destruction of Sorashido City.
Sky then asks him why despite them both fighting for someone, he still hurts others. He doesn't answer her questions and sends the orb her way. He believes that her interests in the enemy are more based on emotion, and her naivety will bring about the city's destruction. However, Sky is fine with being naïve if it means thinking and worrying about others. She will keep moving forward and become her own hero with her precious friends by her side. She then performs a powered-up version of Sky Punch that destroys the orb of Undergu Energy and then meets with Skearhead on the roof. She tries to talk to Skearhead again when the Kyoborg lands on the ground, giving him time to retreat. The other Cures arrive and they purify the Kyoborg with Majestic Halation.
After the battle, Sora wonders why Skearhead is hurting people even though he has a reason to fight. The Cures agree that it won't be easy to find the answers, but Sora knows that she can find them once they learn more about the Undergu Empire.
