Synopsis[]

After Skearhead impaled her with a spear, Empress Undergu asks him why he betrayed her. Butterfly attempts to heal her, but the light power would poison her. Skearhead tells the Empress she'll die like her father, and she suddenly remembers something. After declaring peace with Sky Land, the Empress was discussing with her father what they should fight for next while unbeknownst to them, Skearhead was approaching them. He threw a spear at Emperor Undergu, stabbing his abdomen and killing him. The Empress screams in pain as she now knows the truth: it was Skearhead who murdered her father.

Skearhead then locked Empress Undergu in a chamber and brainwashed her into believing that Cure Noble killed her father. He wanted the Empress to give her all to the Undergu Energy so she could be its vessel and wield that power for destruction. The Cures and the Empress are left speechless by Skearhead's revelation. She asks just who Skearhead really is, and he reveals his true form: Darkhead. He starts attacking, so the Cures try to drive him off. However, he quickly evades all of them and blasts them away.

Darkhead reappears before Empress Undergu to finish her off for her failures, but before he can, he reveals that he told one more lie: he never loved or cared for her in the first place. She is completely despaired by those words, knowing everything she believed in was a lie, and now doesn't want to exist anymore. Sky orders Darkhead to release the Empress, but he reminds her of what she did to the Cures and that she's not worth saving. Still, Sky would never abandon someone in tears. Upon hearing that, Darkhead starts getting the idea of using Sky as a vessel. He suddenly opens a tunnel to the Undergu Empire's lair and tells the Cures to meet him there. They are figure this could be a trap, but Sky still wants to answer Empress Undergu, and they enter the tunnel.

When the Cures arrive at the lair, they notice Ranborgs guarding different places. Wing finds the entrance and purifies the guards, but as the Cures try to reach the entrance, more Ranborgs jump in to guard it. Butterfly decides to battle against them, but the others don't want to leave anyone behind. Then, Wing joins her and reminds her she can depend on him more, and she's relieved she doesn't have to do it alone. Sky, Prism, and Majesty then leave to find the Empress, but not before Majesty telling Wing she won't allow him to be defeated here. As the other Cures, Wing and Butterfly charge into battle.

As the other Cures make their way to the lair, another giant Ranborg appears from the water and won't let them enter it. It fires a beam at them and Majesty uses Majestic Veil to protect herself and the others. She tells Sky and Prism to go to the Empress, but both are worried about her. Majesty starts to wonder why she has her powers and why there are five of them on the team, and that could be because Elleelain was fighting alone and maybe wanted friends to support and encourage her, hence why they inherited her mission. She tells Sky and Prism to leave while she takes care of the Ranborg, which they reluctantly do, but Majesty shouts "Never falter, hero girl!", encouraging them to keep making their way.

In the lair, Empress Undergu watches and is amazed at how strong the Cures are. Darkhead then tells her he initially chose for her to be a vessel because of the heroism she displayed protecting her father and he wanted to use that hero's light for destruction instead. He then decides that Sky would be a better vessel, horrifying the Empress. Meanwhile, Sky and Prism have reached the lair and are glad that they've got each other to help. Once they enter, Empress Undergu tries to tell them it's a trap. However, Sky and Prism refuse to lose to someone who only thinks of people as vessels. They then start fighting Darkhead and manage to hit him with Prism's close range attacks and Sky's physical ones. However, Darkhead could only do so much without a vessel.

Suddenly, Prism starts feeling the effects of the sea of Undergu Energy. Sky starts feeling it as well, as the Undergu Energy begins to poison them because of their powers of light. Sky tries to fight through it, but Prism soon becomes unconscious because it affected her more. Darkhead summons a tunnel beneath Prism and holds her hostage over the sea, horrifying Sky. He then dares Sky to use her dwindling power to save Prism. When she can't, Darkhead summons an orb of Undergu Energy and suggests she can use it and possibly control its immense power herself. Sky still struggles to stand up, but Darkhead gives her the Undergu Energy anyway, turning her into Dark Sky.

Seeing she has chosen this power, Darkhead lets Prism fall into the sea of Undergu Energy, but Dark Sky uses her newfound powers to quickly rescue Prism and carry her to safety. Dark Sky tries her hardest to make sure the energy doesn't completely corrupt her and will use it to save everyone. She overpowers Darkhead easily, all while trying to stave off the Undergu Energy's poison. While this happens, Prism starts to wake up. Once the energy completely takes her over, Darkhead triumphantly possesses Dark Sky's body, proud that he has attained the perfect vessel for destruction. He then has Dark Sky turn to her former friend and controls her body to attack. Prism calls out to Sky and Empress Undergu tells her to stop, but Darkhead continues the attack.

Just as the attack is about to collide, Dark Sky starts to hesitate, still not wanting to lose to the Undergu Energy. Darkhead orders her to continue, but Prism stands her ground and Dark Sky successfully resists Darkhead's powers. Prism believed that Sky would be able to fight off Darkhead's control and summons a small drop light that drives Darkhead out of Sky's body and turns her back to normal while healing Empress Undergu's wound.

Sky is happy to be back. The Empress wonders why the light didn't kill her, and Prism explains it might be because she's the same as them. Sky adds that she's learned that being a hero is about believing in your own convictions no matter what stands in your way. Empress Undergu doesn't think she's fit to be a hero, but Sky says that even though she's made mistakes in the past, she still has her friends by her side. She then asks the Empress if she could be their friend and the two shake hands. The other Cures also join then, glad that there's a happy ending. Then, a giant snake called Daijarg emerges from the sea, but the five Cures are ready. Sky declares that it's hero time before going into battle again.
