Synopsis

The Futari wa Pretty Cure team fights a mysterious monster who is attacking Minato Mirai 21 and defeat it using Extreme Luminario. They then rescue a reporter who had become trapped on a Ferris wheel, but then a teru teru bōzu named Miden appears before them. Later, the HUGtto! Pretty Cure team: Hana, Saaya, Homare, Emiru, and Ruru are having a picnic when Miden appears before them. They transform and fight him, but notice that he is using the attacks of other Pretty Cures. Miden attacks Yell with a mysterious beam, and Ange, Etoile, Macherie, and Amour shield her from the attack but are turned into babies in the process. The Futari wa Pretty Cure team arrives to protect Yell and the kids, but Miden disappears after turning White into a baby. Nagisa explains to Hana that Miden has turned the other Pretty Cures into toddlers and stolen their memories.

After finding their baby teammates, who had run off, Miden appears before Hana and Nagisa. After Nagisa demands he give Honoka's memory back, he furiously attacks both girls, which causes Honoka to revert back to normal. They transform and fight Miden, with Hana assisting them; while cheering for Yell, the rest of the Hug! team reverts back to normal. Miden takes the towns' memories and leads the Cures to his lair.

After exploring his lair, the Cures learn that Miden was a camera called the Miden F Mark II. Its manufacturer went bankrupt, and as a result it never had any photos taken. After gaining sentience, Miden decided he wanted to have his own memories and began stealing memories from others. Yell notices his pain and loneliness, as everyone he knew had forgotten about him. After Harry and Hugtan use the Miracle Light's power to restore the rest of the Pretty Cure to normal, they help to fight off Miden's shadows while Yell heads to Miden. She comforts Miden and assures him that they'll make new memories together. The Pretty Cures, with the power of the Miracle Lights, heal him as he smiles and fades away. Later, Hana takes pictures of everyone at the picnic with a fixed Miden camera.

Trivia

  • This is the first crossover movie that premiered in fall.
  • All 55 Cures had speaking roles.
  • Although all main character Pretty Cures in the TV series return, Cure Echo is noticeably absent, possibly due to her appearing primarily in the All Stars movies rather than any of the Pretty Cure seasons. She did, however, cameo in episode 37 of HUGtto! Pretty Cure that promotes this movie.

  • As the original first season Futari wa Pretty Cure did not have a theatrical feature released during its run, this movie is the first one to bear its name without the additional Max Heart denoting the second season.
  • This is the first full-length crossover movie to feature the team of a season that already debuted in the previous movie. However, it's not the first time this happens, as in Pretty Cure All Stars DX: 3D Theatre the Suite Pretty Cure♪ team (sans Cure Muse) is the protagonist again after their debut in DX3.
  • This is also the second All Stars movie where all members of the current team are featured. The first time was on New Stage when the Smile team made their movie debut.
  • When Cure Princess performs Hawaiian Alohaloe, she is in her normal Cure costume instead of her Macadamia Hula Dance form.
  • Ichijo Ranko from Go! Princess Pretty Cure made a cameo appearance, among some victims who had been affected by Miden's powers before reverting back to normal offscreen.
  • The film premiered in Spain at Manga Barcelona, a Spanish anime and manga convention, on October 30, 2021.[1] That same day, the convention hosted a interview with several Pretty Cure staff representing Toei, including producers Washio Takashi and Kaminoki Yu, and the film's director Miyamoto Hiroshi.[2]
  • Due to a hack at Toei Animation's network on March 6, 2022, the then-currently airing season, Delicious Party♡Pretty Cure, was delayed for several weeks. In its place, Toei aired this film in three parts on March 20, March 27, and April 3.[3]
