Hanasaki Sora (花咲空)? is a minor character in Heartcatch Pretty Cure!. He is Kaoruko's husband, Youichi's father, and Tsubomi's grandfather. Coupe occasionally shapeshifts to take on Sora's appearance when Pretty Cure need him the most.

In his youth, Sora was a man with straight black hair, and wore glasses. He also wore a hakama, a traditional Japanese men's wear.
Personality[]
According to Kaoruko, Sora was a kindhearted man with a talent for music.
Relationships[]
- Hanasaki Kaoruko: Sora met Kaoruko while she was training in the mountains, and he would often play music for her. They fell in love and got married. After his death, Kaoruko’s fairy partner Coupe often takes on his appearance.
Etymology[]
Hanasaki (花咲)?: Hana (花) is "flower" while saki (咲) is "bloom". Together, Hanasaki stands for "blooming flower."
Sora (空)? means "sky."
Sora's full name means "a blooming flower in the sky".
History[]
Kaoruko and Sora initially met when Kaoruko approached a small cottage after hearing the melody of a cello. Sora told her to come in, and he kept playing his cello for her. He often played music for her and gave her a music box he made. They got closer over time, and eventually got married with one son named Youichi. He had also made a promise with Kaoruko that he would grow a field full of lavenders, and he would play his cello for her.
Sadly, sometime after his son was born, he died. While he did grow the lavender field, he never got to play his cello again because he died at an early age.HPC27
