Hirabayashi Mafune (平林まふね?) is the director of the Aozora City aquarium.

Appearance[]
Mafune is a older woman with grey-brown hair that stops above her shoulders, and brown eyes. She is often seen in her work uniform, which is composed of a cerulean jumper with a dark cerulean collar and the aquarium's logo on the left along with cream colored pants, and white shoes.
Personality[]
Mafune is a kind person who cares about the ocean.
History[]
In episode 1, she is introduced to Natsuumi Manatsu, and shows her around the aquarium. There, she tells Manatsu that people thought dugongs were mermaids.
She reappears in episode 4, where she gives Manatsu tickets to the Mermaid's World Exhibition at the museum.
In episode 16, she sees Manatsu with her friends, where she takes them into the aquarium and tells them that the ocean is full of many mysteries that humans have yet to discover.
In episode 45, she along with Natsuumi Aoi express joy when they see the world turning back to normal, which is when they both meet Kururun. Although they are initially curious about the sea fairy, they quickly grow to like them.
