Hosshiwa (ホッシーワ )? is a villain from Happiness Charge Pretty Cure!. She is one of the generals of the Phantom Empire and the second one to attack the Cures. She is part of the Oresky Trio, along with Oresky and Namakelder.
Bio[]
Appearance[]
Hosshiwa has long light blue hair styled into thick curly ringlets and blue eyes. Her attire consists of a pink dress with some areas lined in black and an apple-shaped hat. She also wears pink platform shoes with pink-and-black striped tights. She also carries an umbrella.
While on the beach, she wears a pink and red sun hat and a white bikini with pink shoes.
After she is reborn, her hair is no longer curly and is now a darker shade of blue. She also wears a light yellow outfit and a light pink apron with a pink bandanna with an apple on it around her head.
Personality[]
Hosshiwa is an extremely selfish, spoiled, greedy, sophisticated, and wealthy woman who only cares about herself, desires everything around her, and always has her Choiarks waiting on her hand and foot. She also has a sweet tooth and never shares her treats with anyone else. Cure Honey has convinced her several times her that food always tastes better when shared with loved ones, but Hosshiwa always argues with her. She is also a master of disguise and often tries to deceive the Pretty Cures by pretending to be a damsel in distress. She enjoys talking down to people, especially those she considers pathetic.
Etymology[]
Hosshiwa's name is derived from the word "hoshii", which means "desired".
History[]
Invasion Of Earth[]
A long time ago, Hosshiwa, along with the other generals and Queen Mirage, was sealed inside a box called Axia. The box was in the Blue Sky Empire until Hime opened it and released them. Queen Mirage took control over the kingdom and Hosshiwa started to spread sorrow around the world as she demanded.
First Attack[]
After Namakelder's failure, Mirage sends her to attack the Cures. She summons a newspaper Saiark to wreck the town. The Cures arrive and notice Seiji is injured and they transform in front of him. Hosshiwa orders the group of Choiarks to attack them and Lovely easily beats them with anger for hurting Seiji. She taunts Lovely about how petty love is, but Lovely was not buying it, so Princess defends her and allows her to defeat it with her Pinky Love Shoot.HCPC03
Almost Becoming Good[]
Hosshiwa and the rest of the trio are ordered to prevent the Shining Make Dresser from being awakened. They confront the Cures, minus Hime, who was helping perform the ritual, and fight against them. The three of them prove too much for the Cures, but when the power of the dresser finally awakens, the Cures' powers increase substantially and they are able to fight off the generals. Hosshiwa and the rest of the trio are almost purified by Cure Fortune's Starlight Ascension but Deep Mirror intervenes before they become completely good and they retreat.HCPC29
Final Chance And Nearly Becoming Good[]
Mirage is furious at Hosshiwa and the trio for their repeated failures, but she gives them one last chance to defeat the Cures. She and the trio summon several Saiarks to wreck the city, but the Cures easily defeat them. She and the trio nearly become good again but they manage to withdraw before they are purified.HCPC40
Battle With Cure Honey And Purification[]
As the Cures are about to confront Queen Mirage, she, along with Namakelder and Oresky, attacks. While Lovely continues through the Phantom Empire, the other Cures fight them individually. Hosshiwa battles Cure Honey and she overpowers Honey with her attacks. In the end, she is purified thanks to Honey Temptation, and she smiles as she fades away.HCPC42
Rebirth[]
After the final battle, it is revealed that a purified Hosshiwa has become a kindergarten teacher named Ms. Hoshi. She is surrounded by children who give her candy, which she accepts and eats.HCPC49
Abilities[]
- Disguise: Hosshiwa can disguise herself at will to fool the Pretty Cures, having disguised herself as a damsel in distress in episode 5, and an idol to challenge Cure Honey in episode 10.
- Harnessing Weaponry: She can also use her umbrella to make it look like she made herself disappear. In episode 42, it is shown that she can throw giant candies, shoot chocolate syrup and can fire smaller candies from her umbrella.
- Saiark Creation: Hosshiwa is able to trap people in mirrors and summon Saiarks that can turn the environment into sweets and desserts.

Hosshiwa's voice actor, Akemi Okamura, has participated in one character song for the character she voices which is a group song that she sings with Koyasu Takehito, the voice actor of Oresky and Kaneo Tetsuo, the voice actor of Namakelder.
