Inukai Iroha (犬飼いろは)? is one of the four main Cures in Wonderful Pretty Cure!. She is Komugi's owner.
Iroha transforms into Cure Friendy (キュアフレンディ)?. Her catchphrase is "Wonderful!" (「ワンダフルー！」)?, which Komugi likes to imitate.

Appearance[]
Iroha has short strawberry blonde hair with a salmon pink tinge styled in a bob with two longer locks in the front and a pink and purple decorative heart hair clip with a small yellow heart in the middle on her right lock. Her eyes are mint green. She wears a cropped ruffled white blouse with sleeves that reach her elbows, along with shoulder cutouts. Her sleeves are accented with magenta bands and a magenta ribbon tied to her neck. She also wears light purple shorts with matching suspenders and purple lining at the bottom and pockets as well as matching buttons. Her shoes are magenta ballet flats with a bow on the front and white socks with ruffled folded cuffs.
In the movie, Iroha wears a short purple top with thin straps and a matching pleated skirt with two magenta buttons in the middle worn over a short-sleeved white shirt with magenta bows on each of her sleeves. She also wears magenta Mary Jane's and white knee-length tube socks. On the left side of her waist is her Wonderful Pact pouch.
As an older child, Iroha had a lavender bow on her right bang of hair. She wore a pink and lavender smock dress with a ribbon logo on its side, purple tight pants, and light purple and pink accented sneakers.
As a younger child, Iroha had shorter side bangs and hair. She had a pale heart-shaped hairclip. She also wore a purple dress with a dark pink bow, a puffy-sleeved white blouse, short white socks, and red shoes.
As Cure Friendy, her hair turns yellow and lengthens into heart-shaped braided pigtails with violet ribbons with pale yellow stripes at the end of the braids and her locks become shorter. Her eyes become dark blue, cerulean, and pink with light yellow eye pupils. She wears a purple headband with a small purple and light purple deerstalker hat with a little purple and yellow heart on top and a magenta band on the left side. Her dress is light purple with a pale yellow insert in the middle and purple and white lining at the end of the top layer of the skirt. On top of the skirt is a lilac scrunched fabric with purple and white bows on each side. The bottom layer of the skirt is white with a rounded lining. The pouch for her Wonderful Pact lays on the left side of her waist. She also wears a short purple cape with white lining, a magenta inside, and a pink bow with very light pink stripes at the center with a purple heart-shaped brooch lined in gold. On her wrists are wide purple cuffs with white frills at the end. She also wears purple ballet flats with light purple hearts on top of them and three straps and buttons around the lower legs along with long white scalloped thigh-high socks.
In her Diamond Ribbon Style, her hair becomes longer and thicker and her hat turns into a pale pink round egg-like hat with a light purple jagged base, a purple heart on top, and two wings and a purple bow on the left side and one wing on the right. The bows on the ends of her pigtails turn solid purple, and her headband also has a multicolored horn-like accessory on the right. Her dress turns white with a light purple bodice that closes at the neck and is held with a purple choker that has scalloped ruffles at the top and bottom. On her chest is a magenta, purple, blue, and teal ribbon with a diamond-shaped brooch lined in gold with a crown at the top. White heart-shaped fabric covers the front part of the bodice. Her sleeves are loose and consist of purple and pink-striped ribbons with white scalloped ruffles on the top and bottom that go around the shoulders. Around her waist is a purple and pink-striped sash with a matching bow at the back and her Wonderful Pact on her left waist. The top layer of her skirt is white and scalloped that opens at the front with a purple and pink-striped ribbon lining the bottom and long bows with pink hearts in the middle on each side. The skirt has three more scalloped layers each with a darker shade of purple. A longer opened skirt appears over it with three more ruffled layers of different shades of purple and a fourth layer in the back. Her wristbands are white with light purple scalloped ends and a purple ribbons around the wrists. Her boots are long and white with a pink heart on each toe, two small purple buttons behind the heart, purple bows in the back, and purple soles.
Personality[]
Iroha loves animals so much that it's her goal to be friends with all the animals in the world. Iroha is eager when encountering any animal, and won't hesitate to help them in times of need. Her daily routine is taking Komugi for morning walks. She has many friends who she loves to help out, and is well-liked by animals. She is very honest and sporty. However, Iroha can be honest to a fault as keeping secrets from anyone she holds dear overwhelms her, thus, causing her to be a bad liar in the process.
Relationships[]
- Komugi: Her pet Papillon. Iroha takes Komugi on morning walks every day. She has a special handshake with Komugi, which helped her identify Komugi when Komugi turned into a human. Several years ago, Iroha came across Komugi who was all alone in the rain. She took the puppy to her family's clinic to treat the puppy and after treating her, they took the puppy in.
- Toyama Satoru: Her classmate, and good friend for three years. Due to not being in the same class the previous year, Iroha wishes to be in the same class as Satoru in the new school year. Satoru is the first person Iroha told her secret as Pretty Cure to. However, she is unaware he has a crush on her.[1] She is shocked when Satoru tells her that he has feelings for her, which makes her realize she also feels the same way, though she's not certain what kind of feelings they are. She confesses to Satoru how special he is to her, and they decide to go on a date. During the date, Iroha realizes she feels nervous around Satoru and worries that things are no longer the same between them, until Satoru reassures that he likes her all the same. Afterwards, Iroha's romantic relationship with Satoru is strengthened.
- Inukai Youko and Inukai Tsuyoshi: Her mother and father. Iroha is supported by Youko and Tsuyoshi, and gets help with caring for Komugi. She doesn't feel great whenever she has to lie to them.
- Nekoyashiki Mayu: Iroha is very friendly towards Mayu since they first met, and they eventually become friends. Mayu is also one of the people Iroha entrusts her secret as a Cure to.
- Niko: The creator of Niko Garden. Iroha was chosen to be the caretaker of her egg. At first, Niko is wary of trusting Iroha's abilities after watching her struggle against Gaou's companions, but eventually comes to trust Iroha after seeing her resolve.
Etymology[]
Inukai (犬飼)?: Inu (犬)? means "dog".[2] Kai (飼)? is a character commonly used when you talk about keeping a pet, with the word "飼" itself means to feed animals and to nurture life.[3][4]
Iroha (いろは)?: Without kanji, it's actually quite hard to tell what the name means. However, Iroha is actually a common girl name and it means "colorful leaves" or "colorful feathers".[5]
Cure Friendy means "a friend".[6]
History[]
Pre-series[]
One rainy day, a young Iroha came across an abandoned puppy underneath a shrub. Noticing how injured the pup was, Iroha approached the animal carefully to not scare the poor thing. Iroha later brought the little pup to her parents' animal clinic to tend to its wounds. After being bandaged, the little pup was approached by Iroha, who gave it a gentle hug to soothe its heart. Sometime later, Iroha's family decided to adopt the dog and gave it the name, "Komugi".WPC02
When looking at the injured Komugi, Iroha asks her mother if Komugi could live with them. Iroha is told she can until they find her original family, as the collar Komugi wore indicated she may already have an owner. Iroha is warned it may take some for Komugi to warm up to her, and that if Komugi's original family is found, saying goodbye would be tough. After Komugi licked Iroha's hand, Iroha vowed to become her friend, and proceeded to take care of the pup. Iroha struggled to get Komugi to like the leash and go for walks, but understood that it was still scary for Komugi. Sometime later, Iroha stumbled across a cute leash, and was happy when Komugi accepted it. Iroha was then able to take Komugi on walks, and was told by her parents that a leash is a symbol of trust.WPC05
Sometime later, Iroha met Satoru, who came to her family's vet clinic to seek treatment for his new pet Daifuku. They then became friends after Daifuku was feeling better. WPC35
Witnessing Komugi Become A Human[]
After taking Komugi for their daily morning walk, Iroha has breakfast but quickly leaves to play in the school volleyball match. After coming back home, Iroha takes Komugi for another walk and briefly talks to Satoru about the Mirror Stone. Iroha then mentions to Satoru how she hopes they'll be placed in the same class. At Kaihin Park, Iroha plays fetch with Komugi but notices Komugi taking longer than usual to get the ball. Iroha notices the stone that caught Komugi's interest and takes note of it looking similar to the Mirror Stone. Suddenly, all dogs, including Komugi, start to growl when a Garugaru appears. At first, Iroha decides to run away with Komugi, but upon noticing a boy and his dog in danger, Iroha promises Komugi she'll be back, and distracts the Garugaru away from the scared boy. Iroha starts to tire after running for so long, and just as the Garugaru attacks her, a mysterious girl who claims to know her appears and transforms into Cure Wonderful. Iroha is surprised but watches Wonderful chase after the Garugaru. After Wonderful purifies the Garugaru, Iroha is confused when she de-transforms and acts very familiar with her. It starts dawning on Iroha that the girl may be her pet dog, so she initiates their handshake and is stunned when the girl does it perfectly. Iroha is then hugged by Komugi, while Iroha herself is stoked about the situation.WPC01
Transforming Into Cure Friendy[]
After being told about Niko Garden, and to not tell anyone about the Pretty Cure by Mey Mey, Iroha returns home. Iroha is worried about Komugi being a human but is surprised when Komugi is back to being a dog when her father greets her. The next day, Iroha is in the dog run with Satoru as they watch over Komugi and Daifuku. As Satoru talks about animals, Iroha starts pondering whether she should tell Satoru about the Garugarus and Pretty Cure. She almost tells Satoru, but he stops pressing the topic about the Garugarus to not pressure her. Suddenly, Komugi starts to growl at something, so Iroha runs off with Komugi in the direction of the bad energy. When they come across a Garugaru, Iroha watches Komugi transform and chase after it. Not wanting Komugi to get hurt, Iroha chases after her and is granted a Wonderful Pact due to her passionate feelings. Iroha transforms into Cure Friendy and joins Wonderful in chasing down the Garugaru. Friendy tries to plead with the Garugaru, in hopes that it will tell her about itself. As the Garugaru starts to injure its own wings, Friendy grabs hold of a wing, with Wonderful holding the other, and manages to calm it down to free it from the dark energy. With the Garugaru now an Ostrich, Iroha summons Mey Mey and declares that she'll be a Pretty Cure as she can't abandon animals suffering from becoming Garugarus. Iroha is then told by Mey Mey that she and Komugi will be going to Niko Garden.WPC02
Visitng Niko Garden, And Revealing Her Identity To Satoru[]
Upon arriving in Niko Garden, Iroha is excited to see all of the animals. After helping the Ostrich recover, Iroha tries a Niko Fruit, and teaches Komugi how to drink tea. Iroha is then told about Niko Garden's situation, in which she wishes she could talk about it with Satoru, but she is told to keep Pretty Cure and Niko Garden a secret. Back in Animal Town, Iroha bumps into Satoru and lies about them suddenly wanting to go for walk. The next day, Iroha and Komugi go for a walk to hunt down a Garugaru, when they get distracted by a flock of ducks. But when Komugi senses the Garugaru, they run to where the Garugaru is. Iroha notices Satoru but transforms as she can't abandon a friend in trouble. Friendy engages in rescuing the Garugaru with Wonderful, and protects her with a ribbon shield. After getting advice from Satoru on how to rescue the Garugaru, Friendy, along with Wonderful, is able to purify it by stroking its fur. Friendy then greets the Kirarin Rabbit, and takes Satoru to Niko Garden. There, Iroha watches Mey Mey accept Satoru, and is happy that Satoru will be helping them from now on.WPC03
The Friendly Tact Appears[]
Iroha meets a young girl named Ema who is struggling to get her dog, Pon, to use a leash. After Iroha takes Ema to speak to her father about the situation, Iroha relaxes under a tree to think about when Komugi got used to her own leash. Iroha then admits to Komugi that she's so glad Komugi became a Pretty Cure, because it's so wonderful that she can hear how Komugi really feels now. Just as Iroha is about to take Komugi for another walk, Komugi senses a Garugaru, so Iroha follows Komugi to meet up with Satoru at the beach. Iroha transforms into Cure Friendy, and helps Wonderful slide along the ice. They manage to catch up to the Garugaru, but are shaken off, and watch as it dives into the ocean. When the Garugaru creates an ice bridge, Friendy realizes it is heading towards the town, so she helps launch Wonderful towards the Garugaru. Wonderful manages to land on top of it, but Friendy is mortified when a section of the ice bridge falls into the ocean, taking Wonderful with it. However, Friendy is able to grab Wonderful's hand when the leash in Wonderful's pact flies into Friendy's hand. As more cracks start to form, Friendy is about to pull Wonderful up when Wonderful explains that she doesn't need a leash as a human because holding hands makes her feel closer to Friendy. Friendy admits she was thinking the same thing, and when the ice beneath her gives way, she and Wonderful are saved by a yellow light. Friendy watches with Wonderful as the leash transforms into two Friendly Tacts. As Friendy grabs a wand, she is told by the Kirarin Rabbit to use its power, which Friendy proceeds to do. She gains rabbit ears, and is able to hear when the Garugaru will jump out of the ocean, giving the two Cures the opportunity they need to purify the Garugaru. Friendy meets the Kirarin Penguin and takes them back to Niko Garden to rest. On the way home, Iroha tells Satoru about always wanting to know how Komugi felt. Iroha then approaches Komugi, and promises to go on lots of walks with her, regardless of whether she's a dog or human.WPC05
Argument And Reconciliation With Komugi[]
After gaining the Friendly Tact, Iroha gets into an argument with Komugi over the disappearance of their old leash. Fed up with how stubborn Komugi can be, Iroha vents to Satoru about it. When facing the Lion Garugaru, due to Wonderful being reckless and getting hurt, Iroha gets mad at Komugi again.WPC06 The next day, she realizes Komugi has left her without warning, and feels regretful after Satoru tells her that Komugi is crying. Fortunately, Friendy is able to make amends with Wonderful after they both talk things out, earning them the attack Friend Liberale. Iroha then attaches a new leash to Mayu's handmade harness for Komugi to wear, which strengthens their bond.WPC07
Revealing Secrets And The Mirror Stone's Legend[]
When walking to school with Komugi, Iroha realizes her mother hasn't met human Komugi before when Komugi almost reveals herself. Not wanting to hide her secrets anymore, Iroha asks Mey Mey if she can be honest with her parents, only for both of her parents to come across her talking to Komugi and Mey Mey anyway.
Iroha is surprised when they are happy to be able to talk with Komugi. She also learns about the legend of the Mirror Stone from her parents. After purifying the parakeet Garugaru with Wonderful, Iroha finds out that Mey Mey told her parents everything about Niko Garden, and that they are both supportive of her and Komugi. This makes Iroha happy because she doesn't have to hide the secret from her parents anymore.WPC16
The Truth Behind The Garugaru[]
One morning, Iroha is awoken by Komugi, who is startled by the hatching of Niko's egg. After gathering Mayu, Yuki, Satoru, and Mey Mey at her family's dog run, they all witness the rebirth of Niko. At first, Niko scolds Mey Mey for telling the group about Niko Garden, but Iroha manages to persuade the unicorn that they found out by themselves. At Niko Garden, Iroha and the others learn about what occurred in Niko Garden the day the residents became Garugaru. During their discussion, Komugi and Yuki sense another Garugaru egg and a slightly different essence in the same location as the egg. Upon arriving at the mountain trail, Iroha and her friends witness several animals fleeing from their homes and soon come across Torame and Zakuro, who have the Garugaru egg in their possession. Upon seeing the creation of the Gaogaon, Iroha and the others transform into the Pretty Cure. When Iroha expresses her desire to become friends with Torame and Zakuro, she is startled by their rejection and the reason behind their anger, which is that humans are responsible for their extinction. Following their defeat at the paws of the Gaogaon, Iroha starts to question whether they are on the right side.WPC29
At first, Iroha wants to give up after the failure, but regains her resolve once she remembers the friends she made. She and the other Cures then gain the power to perform Eternal Kizuna Shower on the Gaogaon through Niko's Diamond Ribbon Castle. Although Torame still harshly rejects Friendy's offer to be his friend, Friendy respects his current choice and believes he might change his mind eventually.WPC30
Realizing Her Feelings For Satoru[]
When Satoru's feelings are revealed by Mey Mey, Iroha is shocked.WPC35 When Satoru reaffirms his feelings for her, Iroha runs away in embarrassment. Although she gets to temporarily take her mind off Satoru by going on a walk with Komugi, she is still uncertain about her own feelings. However, she begins to understand her feelings a little more with her mother's advice, and also after Yuki advises her to be honest with herself and Satoru. When Satoru is kidnapped by Zakuro, Friendy finally realizes how important Satoru is to her, and with her friends' help, she succeeds in saving him. Iroha then confesses to him in her own words about how she finds him to be her special kind of wonderful.WPC36
After their confession, Iroha and Satoru go on their first date together. During their date, Iroha realizes that she is nervous around him, and is worried if there is something wrong between them. However, Iroha becomes more comfortable with Satoru, after he reassures her that he likes her no matter what. After the aquarium date and purifying the giraffe Gaogaon, Iroha's relationship with Satoru becomes stronger, and she is happy that Satoru accepts her request of calling her by name.WPC37

Cure Friendy (キュアフレンディ)? is Iroha's Pretty Cure alias. She transforms using the Wonderful Pact. She has the ability to summon ribbon-shaped shields.
Transformation[]
- Pretty Cure! My Evolution!: The transformation starts with Iroha catching her Wonderful Pact and showing it off. The pact opens and Iroha smiles at her reflection before pressing the purple ribbon-shaped button on the inside, causing the dial to turn purple. Iroha then says the transformation phrase and spins the dial around three times with it glowing in a different color with each spin. She then counts down from three to one, with green sparkles and ribbons appearing in the mirror after three, some of them turning blue after two, and red hearts appearing after one. Iroha is then surrounded by drawings six gold ribbons with hearts in the middle, with a purple tiara on her head. After her eyes change color, two ribbons fly to her as her hair lengthens, and ties her hair into braids. Two of the ribbons attach to her hips, allowing her dress ribbons to appear, followed by her actual dress, boots and stockings. The ribbon on her chest turns pink and white with a heart brooch. Her earrings appear, followed by her purple tiara turning into a hat. Friendy closes the Wonderful Pact, which then lands inside the carry bag. Friendy then introduces herself before striking a final pose and telling the audience that she wants to hear their voice.

- Help! Kirarin Animal! (ヘルプ！キラリンアニマル！)?: A purification technique Cure Friendy uses to borrow the power of the Kirarin Animals. Friendy needs the Friendly Tact to use it.
- Friend Liberale (フレンドリベラーレ)?: A finisher Cure Friendy performs with Cure Wonderful. To perform it, she and Wonderful need the Friendly Tact.
- Eternal Kizuna Shower (エターナルキズナシャワー)?: A group finisher Cure Friendy performs with Cure Wonderful, Cure Nyammy, and Cure Lillian. To perform it, she and her teammates must be in their Diamond Ribbon Styles, and they need the Diamond Ribbon Castle.
- Premiere Kizuna Shower (プレミアキズナシャワー)?: A group finisher Cure Friendy performs with Cure Wonderful, Cure Nyammy, and Cure Lillian in the movie.
