History[]

A year prior to the events of the season, Yuunagi's softball team lost in the semifinals, due in part to the opposing team scoring a run on Izumida's mistake. She used that devastating loss to fuel her desire to win the championship the following year.FwPCSS35 When the team is set to play against the previous year's winners in the first round, most of the team is bummed, but Saki and Izumida remain optimistic. It pays off when Yuunagi wins and advances.FwPCSS03 Later on, at the team's summer camp retreat, she leads the training regiment to strengthen their batting skills. She is also part of the group preparing Saki's surprise birthday party.FwPCSS26 Yuunagi eventually makes it to the finals, besting their previous record. This is the last game for Izumida and her fellow third-years, which is why Saki is determined to win the championship for them. Izumida gives a motivating speech to close out practice. She has always been one of Saki's biggest advocates, to the point that even during the match, when Saki starts slipping up, she remains optimistic and compliments the younger girl's skill. During the last inning, Izumida is giving it her all, hitting the ball and making it to base. However, the match eventually ends with Yuunagi losing. Saki is ashamed, but Izumida is satisfied, as this was the farthest Yuunagi had ever made it to in the tournament. She tells Saki she knows she'll bring the team to victory next year. As the team heads home, Saki suggests they all run back to school rather than ride the bus, with Izumida approving the idea.FwPCSS35

In episode 35, she is described as a third baseman in softball.

In the epilogue of the final episode, about a year has passed since the final battle with Dark Fall. Izumida, now having graduated from Yuunagi, is seemingly a student at Seikai High School, based on the uniform she wears. She attends the final match of the tournament, where Saki, now captain, has brought Yuunagi back to for a second time. When Yuunagi eventually wins the championship, Izumida is part of the group drawing of Saki, Mai, their families, and friends posing with the trophy.
