Kaidou Yuuya (海藤裕哉)^? is a supporting character who appears in Happiness Charge Pretty Cure!. He is Seiji's schoolmate.

Bio[]

Appearance[]

Yuuya has short dark purple hair and eyes of the same color. He is usually seen wearing the Pikarigaoka Middle School male uniform. On his date with Iona in episode 32, he is seen wearing a mustard-yellow jacket over a white shirt, green-beige pants, and burgundy and white sneakers.

Personality[]

Yuuya seems to have a usual cool and calm personality, acting rather calm during his date with Iona, but according to him, he was actually very nervous, and it took a lot to tell her about his feelings, despite his calm demeanor.

Relationships[]

Sagara Seiji: Seiji and Yuuya are seen to be good friends.
Hikawa Iona: In episode 32, Yuuya confesses that he likes Iona and the two go out on a date. Later, after Iona turns him down, they seem to be getting along well as friends.

History[]

Yuuya watches Iona from the window of the classroom. Seiji asks if he's checking her out, and he replies that he is. Later, he comes out and asks Iona if she has some spare time, and she replies that she does. He introduces himself, and then confesses that he likes her. He then invites her out on a date, but, before Iona can answer, he tells her to take her time.

Later, Hime calls Seiji on the phone, and she puts Iona on, much to the latter's worry. Seiji then passes the phone to Yuuya, who then is showing holding up a peace sign.

Yuuya and Iona are at the zoo, and he asks Iona if there's any specific anime she'd like to see, but she says she doesn't. Later, Iona comments on how big the hippo's mouth is, and then Yuuya asks her to look at the giraffe. She is slightly scared of it, but Yuuya tells her to look at its eyes, asking her if she thinks they look gentle and kind. She comes closer to it, and she agrees. She then feeds the giraffe. Later, Yuuya and Iona play Frisbee, but Iona puts herself down, saying that she's not good at it. Then, Yuuya gives her some advice: throw like you're tossing it into the Sun. She throws it, and it flies high in the wind. Then, Yuuya catches it and he comments on how Iona finally smiled.

Later. he mentions how glad he is that Iona invited him on a date, but he worries that Iona isn't enjoying herself. He says he just pushed his feelings on her without considering hers, and that she may have only invited him out of obligation. Iona is surprised and said that she thought it would be easy for him, but he disagrees and said it took everything in him. He mentions that Iona smiles more now and that he's always liked her. However, Iona runs off, saying that she's going to buy some drinks. Unfortunately, he is turned into a Saiark by Namakelder, and Iona is forced to transform into Cure Fortune to save him.

After the battle, Iona apologizes for running away, and Yuuya also apologizes. The two of them go back to playing Frisbee, but Iona tells him that she'd prefer to remain friends with him for now. He accepts her request.^HCPC32

Trivia[]

Yuuya shares his surname with Kaido Minami from Go! Princess Pretty Cure.
He is the only love interest in Happiness Charge Pretty Cure! to appear only once in the entire series.
