King Jikochuu

King Jikochuu (キングジコチュー)^? (or King Mercenare in the English Dub Glitter Force Doki Doki) is the main antagonist of Doki Doki! Pretty Cure. He is responsible for the destruction of the Trump Kingdom and is the leader of the Selfish group and the Jikochuu.

It is revealed in episode 45 that King Jikochuu is the former King of Trump Kingdom, and his two daughters Regina and Aguri are the darkness and light of Princess Marie Ange.

Appearance[]

King Jikochuu appears as a large, dark brown figure, full of thorns and a helmet with horns on his head. His eyes are red, and he appears to be laughing cruelly.

His resurrected body is muscular, and he has hands and legs like Akudaikan.

Personality[]

King Jikochuu is a cruel and impatient individual, mainly towards his servants repeating their failures against the Cures. True to his name, he is very selfish.

Etymology[]

Jikochuu comes from Jikochūshin (自己中心, Jikochūshin)^?, which means "egocentrism" in Japanese.^[1]

History[]

After Proto Jikochuu was defeated by the legendary Pretty Cure, he was sealed within the Eternal Golden Crown. However, when Princess Marie Ange fell ill with an unknown disease, the King of Trump Kingdom fell into despair. The King decided to use the crown's power to find what could save her. But that decision came with a cost: the freedom of powerful dark energy. As a result, his body was possessed by this energy, and he became King Jikochuu. Marie Ange tried to save her father, but it was too late. She used all the power of the Miracle Dragon Glaive and King Jikochuu was sealed inside a rock.^DDPC46

He has sent monsters called, Jikochuus, to conquer the Trump Kingdom. This causes Cure Sword's defeat and the disappearance of Princess Marie Ange. He sent the Selfish group to Earth to find the princess through Cure Sword.

Regina takes off with her father as he proceeds to break into Oogai Town.^DDPC46 Everyone in Oogai Town watches as King Jikochuu and Regina arrive. Following them is Bel, Marmo, and Ira. Right behind them are the Cures in their angel forms. Cure Heart tries to convince Regina that she is doing the wrong thing before yelling at King Jikochuu. She is hit and collides with Cure Ace, but they gain more energy to continue fighting. King Jikochuu doesn't take this kindly, and he furiously unleashes dark powers at them. But Regina, now sure of herself, uses the Miracle Glaive to protect them. She takes Cure Heart's hand and openly tells King Jikochuu and Cure Heart that she loves Cure Heart. With their strength returning, everyone groups together as they make a vow to save King Jikochuu's heart. His response to this is to gather a large amount of dark energy, but the girls remain strong.^DDPC47 In the end, Trump King is freed from the influence of Proto Jikochuu, and King Jikochuu ceases to exist.^DDPC48

Trivia[]

King Jikochuu shares his English voice actor with the Akanbe from Smile Pretty Cure!.
In episode 46, it was revealed that King Jikochuu was released by the Trump King, whose body he used to be reborn.
His overall appearance resembles the Greek deity Kronos.
King Jikochuu may be based on Lucifer, who represents the sin of Pride.
