The Shape Of Determination (ケツイノスガタ Ketsui no Sugata)? is the 2nd episode of Kibou no Chikara ~Otona Pretty Cure '23~.
Summary[]
Now that the six Pretty Cures have become adults, they each walk their own paths in life. And though things appear to be smooth sailing for all of them, they each have their troubles. A few days after their miraculous reunion, eerie dark figures called Shadows appear in the city.

Synopsis[]
While Bell attacks the town by creating more Shadows, Syrup is watering the flowers in the Cure Rose Garden when he notices a mysterious flower bud he hadn't seen before.
Back at the restaurant, the girls all order their drinks, with everyone but Karen getting alcohol in case she gets called for an emergency. They receive the drinks and all have a toast for their reunion. As they drink, they all discuss what had been going on in their lives. Urara has been cast in a play directed by the famous Takigawa Mariko, Karen is a doctor, Komachi's novel won an award, Rin is wearing earrings she had designed, and Kurumi is a temp secretary while still working as Coco and Natts' caretaker. The mention of Coco causes Nozomi to remember him.
At Palmier Kingdom, Syrup returns where he finds Nuts still working on negotiations with the Donut Kingdom. Syrup takes Nuts to the garden to show him the mysterious bud that appeared. Meanwhile, the girls have all had several drinks, with Rin and Kurumi getting the most drunk. Nozomi then tells everyone that seeing them all again has cheered her up after what had happened recently. Kurumi then suggests that everyone should exchange their contact information and they do, with their group name being Pretty Cure.
Back at school, Nozomi finds Rumi's nameplate and thinks about how she couldn't help her. Meanwhile, Komachi is sweeping the store front of the Komachi sweets shop and tending the garden. While some passersby thank her for her work, she still feels worried. Her sister, Madoka, finds her after she overhears her sighing. The two talk about Komachi's reunion with her friends and how she is struggling compared to the others thanks to a bout of writer's block. At a hospital, Karen is talking to Iwasaski, one of her patients who is recovering from a surgery but is feeling down because he lost his job. At a rehearsal for her play, Urara continues to practice her lines, but Mariko tells her she is not conveying anything and just reading the script. She soon dismisses Urara, which upsets her.
Outside, a pair of convenience store workers throw out some food when Bell attacks again, turning one of the worker's shadows into a Shadow monster, which then attacks the other worker.
Back at the garden, Nuts identifies the strange flower, which is called a Time Flower, but he doesn't know why they have appeared. There also appeared to be five other Time Flowers. Meanwhile, Kurumi is finishing up her work for the day when her boss confronts her and tells her she's not allowed to leave before the company's president and must find something else to work on. As Kurumi cleans up the meeting room, she senses that something is coming.
On Nakimi Street, Nozomi is waiting for Rin when she overhears a couple of boys mentioning that Dark Night Light tweeted about Shadows attacking. Rin arrives when a blackout occurs and several Shadows approach. They attack the shadows of the two boys, turning theirs into monsters and rendering them unconscious. Even the police are affected by the ambush. Rin evades the Shadows' attacks and retreats. Nozomi realizes that she can't fight them because her being a Pretty Cure was in the past when she sees a couple of her students, Komiya and Kanai, hiding under a table. She tells them to pretend they're playing shadow tag to avoid having their own shadows attacked by the monsters while retreating. She assures the two she will be fine as they leave. Nozomi tries to escape herself but is soon surrounded and her shadow is attacked, causing her to despair while a mysterious voice tells her to fall asleep.
As she falls into the darkness, she is still upset about how she couldn't help Rumi and that no one even bothered to help her. She now feels that she's powerless and should just sleep forever. Back in the real world, Rin desperately tries to wake Nozomi up. It is then that Nozomi remembers the promise she made to Rumi that they would meet again, which causes her to wake up and for one of the Time Flowers to bloom. This turns Nozomi's shadow back to normal as she gets back up, saying it is no time to sleep. Just then, a pink butterfly appears and Nozomi touches it, causing her to regress back to a 14-year-old and transform into Cure Dream.
Dream then begins to take on the Shadows and realizes that she can touch them now, which allows her to fight them all and destroy some of them. While she wonders why the Shadows have appeared in the first place, she does not like how they are attacking innocent people and destroys even more of them. Bell watches the battle, wondering how a Pretty Cure appeared, but still would not let Dream interfere. The Shadows attacked Dream's shadow, but it fends them off easily. Dream then performs Shooting Star, defeating the rest of the Shadows and returning them to everyone's bodies. Nozomi de-transforms on top of a roof when Rin calls out to her. Nozomi then holds up her newly returned CureMo, saying she transformed. Meanwhile, Bell watches from afar and whispers Dream's name.
