The Last Promise (サイゴノヤクソク Saigo no Yakusoku)? is the 10th episode of Kibou no Chikara ~Otona Pretty Cure '23~.
Summary[]
Nozomi suddenly fainted and collapsed. Natsu told Coco that the cause was most likely because she transformed into a Pretty Cure, and if Nozomi and the others keep transforming, their lives could be in danger. So Coco warns Nozomi against ever transforming again.

Synopsis[]
After suffering another fainting spell, Nozomi is taken to the hospital, where Karen didn't find anything unusual. Everyone is relieved, but she has become pale and more fatigued. Nozomi still thinks it's because of the Shadow incidents, but Natsu and Shiroh arrive, with Natsu telling everyone not to transform anymore because their lives could be in danger.
Shiroh shows everyone a picture of the Time Flower, and Natsu explains that when one blooms, it foretells devastating events such as destruction and extinction and starts to count down until the event happens and the flower withers. Mr. Natsu also says that the Cures de-aging when transforming isn't normal, and since Nozomi is the first one and has done it often, it has taken a great toll on her body, and if she continues, there's a good chance she could die. Kouji sternly tells her to stop transforming, but Nozomi wants to protect the people she loves from the Shadows.
At Café and Bar Time, Rin, Urara, and Komachi are shocked to learn that transforming could cost them their lives, but they at least learned that Bell is in the clock tower. Outside, Natsu also tells Kurumi not to transform anymore either because she has also done it often and it's his duty to make sure she doesn't do anything to endanger herself. On a bridge, Saki and Mai also reflect on what they learned when Michiru and Kaoru join them, telling them they are trying to figure out why the Shadows are born from human silhouettes. They also imply that humans could be at fault because of how some of them can be selfish and not care if they hurt others. After a news report of several natural disasters happening around the world, Bell scatters a wave of black feathers to the town.
Urara is finished babysitting Kenta and Yuuko's child when she leaves and notices the black feathers in the sky. Throughout the town, many of the townspeople start to become unconscious as even more Shadows start to appear, invading the town and overwhelming everyone around them.
Meanwhile, Nozomi dreams that she is near death and her Time Flower wilts when Kouji grabs her arm. She wakes up to find Kouji in her apartment because she fainted again on the way back and he wanted to make sure she is OK. Nozomi then reads the messages about the growing Shadow attacks. Despite Kouji's warning, Nozomi still wants to protect the town and all of its people, even at the cost of her life. Kurumi also gets word of the Shadow attacks and decides to join the fight to defend the world, even with its faults. Natsu admires her strong will and allows her to go, but he also tells her to be careful. Saki and Mai also resolve to transform and save their town despite the fear and the toll it will take on them.
Back in Nozomi's apartment, she continues to explain to Kouji that she also wants to protect her future, not just everyone else's. Kouji understands with Nozomi is feeling, and before she leaves, he takes her hand and tells her he wants to support and help her no matter what. Kouji always wanted to help Nozomi through her struggles and couldn't ask for more if she was able to be happy and fulfill her dreams. He also tells her all he could say to her is to do her best as he tearfully embraces her, thinking he's powerless. However, Nozomi assures Kouji that he has always encouraged her and she wouldn't have become a teacher if it weren't for his support. Nozomi promises she will return and they could tell each other what they want to say the most before leaving.
The Pretty Cures all transform to finally defeat the Shadows. Dream arrives at the scene and starts feeling dizzy again, but she shakes it off. Meanwhile, Sanae watches as the sky's color reminded her of the war. To her surprise, Nagisa and Honoka arrive to help. In town, Bunbee attempts to run away from the Shadows, but they attack him anyway until Dream appears and defeats them. Rouge and Lemonade later join her and weren't surprised she ignored their advice not to transform, but she promises this will be the last time as the group charges back into battle. Mint and Aqua attack together, but are greatly outnumbered before Milky Rose joins them. Soon after, the rest of the Cures join them and they head to the clock tower to confront Bell.
When the Cures arrive, Dream asks Bell what is she after. Bell wants to wipe out humanity to protect the future, but the Cures tell her she isn't considering those whose silhouettes were turned into Shadows as well as their worried families and they shouldn't turn their backs on anyone who is suffering. Angered, Bell reveals she is from the near future and casts an illusion to show them that the town will be destroyed and abandoned soon, and it will be all their fault. The Cures could only watch helplessly as more Shadows surround them.

- Honoka is the only featured Cure in the episode who didn't speak at all.
