The Magical Library (ふしぎ図書館 Fushigi Toshokan?) (or Library of Legends in Glitter Force) is a magical location in Smile Pretty Cure!. It is the place where all fairy tales from the different worlds are stored. It seems to be located in an alternate dimension, separate from the human world and Märchenland, and can only be accessed through the Book Door Code. The girls' secret base is also located here.

The main part of the magical library appears to be a field, surrounded by towering trees. The roots and trunks of the huge trees have been modified into bookshelves, where all the fairytale books are kept. There are also numerous giant toadstools scattered throughout the field.

The Book Door Code

The only way to get to the magical library is by using the Book Door Code on any bookshelf. Miyuki was the first one to (accidentally) activate the Code and travel to the magical library. The other girls officially learned the Code from Pop in episode 6.

The Book Door Code consists of 5 steps:

  1. Thinking of an intended destination
  2. Pulling a book out from the shelf
  3. Pushing books from left to right
  4. Pushing books on a lower shelf to the left
  5. Pushing books on an upper shelf to both sides

Secret Base

The girls' secret Pretty Cure base is located within the magical library, and was modified from a giant tree stump using the magic of the star Cure Decor piece in episode 7.

The interior of the secret base resembles an indoor library, with numerous bookshelves, an upper-storey balcony with sofa, and a table and chair set in the center of the room. The girls have brought some of their own belongings to decorate the place as well; Miyuki brought her favorite fairytale books, Akane a portable okonomiyaki hotplate, Nao a picnic basket with utensils and food, and Reika a traditional scroll with "The Way" ( michi?) written on it, decorated with strung beads from Yayoi's bead bracelet maker.

  • Interestingly, although there are only 5 girls, there are 6 chairs surrounding the table in the secret base. It was theorized that it was either a coincidence or a subtle hint at future plot developments, back when the season aired.
