Melan (メラン Meran?) (Known as Mora in the Glitter Force Doki Doki Dub.) is a fairy from the series Doki Doki! Pretty Cure. She is the former mascot partner of Cure Empress and helped her out during their battle against the Selfish 10,000 years ago. She now resides on an island protecting the Magical Lovely Pad until the Cures came to retrieve it.

History

10,000 years ago, Cure Empress had became a Pretty Cure along with two other girls that had used the Three Sacred Treasures in order to battle with a great evil, known as the Jikochū. Using the power of the Magical Lovely Pad, she and Melan fought against the forces of Jikochū. The Legendary Pretty Cures were later able to lock away the Jikochū inside a seal deep inside the base of the Trump Kingdom's chamber itself. It was also the place where the Eternal Golden Crown was used as a seal in order to keep the Jikochū, locked away. The Magical Lovely Pad was then hidden away by Melan.

In the present day, The Cures came to the island to get the Magical Lovely Pad. In order for them to get it, Melan challenges them in order to prove themselves. In her eyes, Melan saw Cure Heart as her previous partner Cure Empress. After the battle she gives them the pad and wishes them luck.
