Melody Sword profile

The Melody Sword (メロディソード)? is a weapon in HUGtto! Pretty Cure that Cure Yell, Cure Ange, and Cure Étoile use to perform their attacks.

It first appears in episode 11 as the Pretty Cure Sword (プリキュアの剣)? but Cure Yell refuses to strike with it, saying a sword wasn't what they needed. The Pretty Cure Sword then turns into the Melody Sword instead.

Appearance[]

Pretty Cure Sword[]

When it originally appeared, the Pretty Cure Sword was a glowing blade with a metallic handle. A pair of white wings served as the crossguard, with a ruby heart between them.

Melody Swords[]

The Melody Swords are all based on musical instruments (a conductor's baton, a flute, and a harp). They are white sticks with a gold star and pink gem on the bottom. At the middle sits a pink heart piece with gold wings, followed by a swirling flower bud design and a row of rainbow-colored heart buttons. A larger crystal gem sits on top of the stick, which shines in a different color depending on the Cure: pink for the Yell Tact, blue for the Ange Harp, and yellow for the Étoile Flute.

Uses[]

In addition to their individual attacks, Yell, Ange and Étoile can also use their Melody Swords together to perform a group attack known as Trinity Concert.

Yell Tact[]

The Yell Tact (エールタクト)? is Cure Yell's weapon. With it, she is able to perform Flower Shoot.

Ange Harp[]

The Ange Harp (アンジュハープ)? is Cure Ange's weapon. With it, she is able to perform Feather Blast.

Étoile Flute[]

The Étoile Flute (エトワールフルート)? is Cure Étoile's weapon. With it, she is able to perform Star Slash.

Trivia[]

  • The Melody Swords are similar to the Cure Sticks:
    • They both have a white base with a gem on top that shines in pink, blue, or yellow.
    • Both feature rainbow buttons going up the top.
    • Both yellow members of the team have a flute weapon.
  • The Japanese word tact (タクト?), from Cure Yell's weapon name, comes from the German word "taktstock" which means "baton" in English.
