Mem-Mem (メンメン)? is a dragon-like Energy Fairy from Delicious Party♡Pretty Cure. He originates from CooKingdom, is the Energy Fairy of Noodles, and is Ran's fairy partner. He ends his sentences with ~men! (~メン!)?.

His full name is Membernu Churuchurutto Kurukururin Glutamine Memdragon (メンバーヌ・チュルチュルット・クルクルリン・グルタミンサン・メンドラゴン)?.

Biography

Appearance

Mem-Mem is a dragon-like fairy with yellow skin, and orange horns. He wears a dark orange collar around his neck, that has a white frilly layer, and a dark orange heart jewel in the middle. When he combines forces and transforms with Ran, he enters his "bowl form".

As a human, he resembles a young teenage boy with golden blonde hair and his horns, ears, and tail sticking out. He wears a light yellow shirt with sleeves that stop at the elbows and gold fastenings along with orange shorts and red suspenders. His jewel is clipped to the left suspender. He also wears green shoes with dark brown tube socks.

In his Children's Lunch Dress, his hair gets thicker and gold spoon and fork earrings are clipped to his ears. He wears a long-sleeved dark orange shirt with red and gold inserts and white and red stripes at the ends of the sleeves. He has a white apron with green lining at the bottom and two swirly fish cakes on each side. He also wears matching scalloped shorts along with red biker shorts underneath it. His jewel grows larger and rest at the middle of an orange ribbon. He also wears very short reddish-brown gloves and dark orange boots with red socks and multicolored bowls on each side. On his back are yellow dragon-like wings.

Personality

Mem-Mem is very calm, and doesn't make a fuss about anything. Out of the three Energy Fairies, he is the most rational one. He's impressed by Ran's passion, and always wants to do his best to help his friends.

Relationships

  • Hanamichi Ran: His human partner. Mem-Mem admires Ran's passion for food, and supports her through tough situations.
  • Kome-Kome: He acts as an older brother to Kome-Kome, and comforts her whenever she is upset.

Etymology

Men ()? means "noodles" in Japanese[1].

History

Meeting Ran

After waking up, Mem-Mem visits Panda Hut with the two girls, Rosemary and fellow fairies, where he notices Ran, who he quickly comes to like. But then he gets left behind, where Ran finds out about him being a fairy on the way to return him. He is surprised that Ran is not afraid of him, so he takes a picture with her before leaving, though Rosemary warns him to be careful.

Mem-Mem and his friends later visit Panda Hut again, but he realizes the change in the ramen. He decides to stay with Ran, but then takes her into the Delicious Field after seeing how distraught she is. He encourages and protects Ran, which makes their hearts resonate. As her fairy partner, Mem-Mem helps Ran transform into Cure Yum-Yum for the first time. He later takes a picture with Ran and his other friends after the battle is over. DPPC07

Helping Kome-Kome

When the girls are doing their summer homework, Mem-Mem goes to play with Pam-Pam and Kome-Kome. But he soon gets caught up in the fight between his fellow fairy friends, and is sad that both of them are mad at each other. He, along with Amane and Rosemary, later finds out that Pam-Pam has been kidnapped by Narcistoru, and along with Rosemary helps Kome-Kome to be tossed up to save Pam-Pam. He later happily joins in the pizza party after both of his friends patch up with each other.DPPC24

When Kome-Kome cries over her inability to perform her powers, Mem-Mem enters the Heart Cure Watch to check on her. He comforts both Kome-Kome and Pam-Pam so they can overcome their sadness. He later supports Kome-Kome when the team fights against Narcistoru, and witnesses Kome-Kome finally gaining the power to help the Cures.DPPC28

Search For The Udon Recipepe

With the noodles festival approaching, Mem-Mem and Ran get excited as this means they can help promote Panda Hut. However, shortly before the festival, Mem-Mem realizes that the noodle Recipepes' sadness is affecting the noodles due to the missing Udon Recipepe, so Mem-Mem volunteers to find it. However, by using his energy to detect the Udon Recipepe's location, he ends up affecting Yum-Yum's performance and attacks. Feeling that he has burdened Yum-Yum, Mem-Mem starts to feel guilty, until Yum-Yum cheers him up. Thanks to her courageous words, Mem-Mem and Yum-Yum improvise to restrain the Gossori Ubauzo successfully, giving them and their teammates the chance to purify the Ubauzo. DPPC32

Epilogue

After the final battle, Mem-Mem follows his friends to CooKingdom, where he celebrates with them and the CooKingdom people. Due to being entrusted with protecting the Recipe-Bon, Mem-Mem has to say goodbye to Ran, but still gets to meet the girls from time to time. DPPC45

Abilities

  • He is able to breathe fire to attack his enemies.
  • He can do noodle fortune-telling, in which he can detect the location of noodle-based Recipepes, by using power stored in his jewel. But doing so will use up a lot of his energy.
  • Although originally unable to transform into a human, he gains this ability after the final battle.

Trivia

  • Mem-Mem's birthday is on November 11th, making his Zodiac sign Scorpio. His birthday falls on Noodle Day.
  • Mem-Mem is the first fairy in the franchise to be based on a dragon.
  • In episode 36, it's revealed that he, Pam-Pam, Kome-Kome's predecessor, and Ginger, came to Oishiina Town 20 years ago, but Mem-Mem can't remember what he did.
    • It is later revealed in episode 38 that he along with Pam-Pam had their memories of previously visiting the town erased after creating the magical field to protect the town with Ginger and Kome-Kome's predecessor.
  • In the Oops! All PreCure Animage interview, Mem-Mem was chosen to be Ran's partner to match Ran's Chinese motif and the food "ramen".
