Puca (プーカ)? is a movie-exclusive character, debuting in Pretty Cure All Stars F. She is only able to say her own name, but later gains the power to transform into Cure Puca (キュアプーカ)?. For most of the film, she travels with TEAM PRISM.

Bio[]

Appearance[]

Puca is a rabbit with grey fur, bright pink ears, magenta eyes, and a fluffy white collar. On her white stomach, she has a pink upside-down heart beneath her collar. Her eyebrows and the fur around her mouth and nose are white, and her hair is an icy green shade.

As Cure Puca, she bears a strong resemblance to Cure Supreme, but with minor differences. Her uniform is mainly light pink, with hints of pale cyan accents. Her emblems and hairclips have red centers, and she retains her long rabbit ears.

Personality[]

Puca is initially a bashful and timid individual but becomes braver after traveling with TEAM PRISM. She is also kindhearted and forgiving.

Relationships[]

  • Preme: Her creator. Puca has always loved and cared for Preme, but she ended up fleeing from Preme when she tried to kill her. However, Preme and Puca finally form a friendship after Puca's feelings reach Preme's heart.

Etymology[]

Puca: Also spelled "Púca," translates to "goblin" in English and "ghost" or "spirit" in Irish. It is known as a menacing or beneficial creature that can bring fortune to rural or marine communities. Puca is said to shapeshift into human forms with animal-like features, such as rabbit ears and a rabbit tail. Interestingly, one legend suggests that the creature has the power to kill humans. In mythology, Puca represents the "good self," contrasting with Supreme, who is associated with destruction and evil. Supreme is said to have destroyed the Earth and recreated a new world after the Cures were defeated.

History[]

Puca was created by Supreme to be her fairy partner. However, Supreme later regarded Puca as weak, and Puca was forced to flee for her own safety upon realizing Supreme intended to destroy her.

Fearing for her safety, Puca flees and ends up meeting Kasai Amane, who wards off hordes of monsters from her, soon, Nijigaoka Mashiro, and Laura show up. After some confrontations with the horde, the three Cures decide to cut the fight short per La Mer's suggestion, and Prism tries to save the Puca as well. Despite her reluctance, the three Cures, led by La Mer, forcibly taking Puca away as they escape in the direction of the castle.

Later, TEAM PRISM arrives in a desert where Mashiro gives Puca her name because Puca frequently says it. However, Puca is still afraid of being touched. They meet Hanadera Nodoka, who expresses her concern for her friend Rabirin, who is separated from her. While deciding to help Nodoka find Rabirin, Amane encourages Puca to join them, and Puca agrees.

TEAM PRISM soon comes across a railway track. Amane suggests they hitch a ride on a train to reach the castle, but Puca hesitates about going there. They manage to catch the train despite some difficulties, but Nodoka is unable to catch up, even with Laura attempting to help her using her mermaid tail. Eventually, Rabirin reunites with Nodoka. On the train, they tearfully embrace, but this moment triggers a traumatic memory for Puca, possibly linked to Cure Supreme. It is revealed that Puca was created by Cure Supreme, who despised her and attempted to destroy her. Overwhelmed by the traumatic recollection, Puca loses control of her powers, inadvertently damaging part of the train that TEAM PRISM is on. Feeling guilty for stranding her new friends, Puca considers running away. However, instead of blaming her, TEAM PRISM accepts her, showing their support. Determined to make amends, TEAM PRISM decides to continue on foot. Puca realizes that there are people who genuinely care about her, and she chooses to follow her new friends to the castle.

When TEAM PRISM arrives at a town, the townspeople all emotionlessly tell them that they need to be saved from the threat of the villain Lord Ark. Upon seeing each other, TEAM PRISM and TEAM SKY rush to reunite, but Puca is frightened when she recognizes the hostile Preme. This leads to Puca accidentally activating her destructive powers, causing TEAM PRISM to fall into a pit created by Puca. Fortunately, TEAM SKY is able to meet up with TEAM BUTTERFLY. Preme is confused about why friends like them get excited about meeting each other, while Asumi also feels suspicious about the world around them.

Inside the pit, Puca is regretful while still unable to control her powers, and is afraid when feeling that Nodoka, who is touching her paws, will get hurt by her. However, realizing that TEAM PRISM are her true friends, Puca finally gets to control her powers. TEAM PRISM then leaves the pit to reach the castle by climbing up the illuminating cubes.

Puca, who is comforted by Ellee-chan, realizes that she is the catalyst for recreating Earth and helps Sky, Prism, and Majesty to bring back the other Cures. With the appearance of Miracle Lights, they put the world into its rightful place.

Despite Supreme continuing to retaliate, Puca helps the Cures remember their memories, giving them the power to fight against Supreme even more. With their power of harmonized love and friendship, all 78 Cures, with the support of their allies, recreate the Earth. In the end, with one powerful combined attack of all 78 of them, plus the power of Puca transforming into Cure Puca, Supreme finally gets purified as her crest gem shatters.

After the grand battle, Cure Puca helps Supreme understand that Preme herself has always wanted companions, instead of actually wanting power all alone. Thanks to her love, Cure Puca gets through to Supreme, who takes her as their fairy partner once Earth is restored. She is last seen in the credits, where she is flying next to Preme.

Cure Puca[]

Cure Puca (キュアプーカ)? is Puca's alter ego.

Abilities[]

Puca has the ability to turn or destroy any objects she touches into light particles with her paws. Because of the danger of her powers, she initially avoids interacting with others. However, after becoming friends with TEAM PRISM, she learns to control her powers better. Later on, she gains the ability to recreate the world with her powers.
