The Ranborg (ランボーグ )? are the main monsters from Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure that first appear in episode 1. They are summoned by the generals of Undergu Empire using the power of Undergu Energy, by saying a key phrase which varies according to the general carrying out the summon.
They say "I've been purified~" (スミキッタ~ )? when they are purified by the Cures.
In episode 34, a new type of Ranborg called the Kyoborg (キョーボーグ )? is summoned by Skearhead.
The Ranborg, and Kyoborg are both voiced by Souma Kouichi.
Appearance[]
The appearance of the Ranborg and Kyoborg varies depending on the object(s) they possess, but they all have a robotic face with a pitch-black mask and glowing yellow eyes (except for Kabaton, whose eye colors remain the same, and Battamonda and Minoton, who don't wear the mask around their eyes). The regular Ranborg have a rectangular mask shape with a black scar across the left-eye side, diagonally from near the forehead toward the cheek, while the Kyoborg have a horizontally-elongated heart-shaped mask with four downwards-pointing eyelashes (two below each eye). They also have a Mohawk hairstyle with different colors depending on which general summoned them (e.g. Kabaton: Dark Blue, Battamonda: Lime Green, Minoton: Brown, Empress Undergu, Emperor Undergu, and Skearhead: Red). Minoton and Battamonda are the only ones who don't have Mohawk hairdos while in Ranborg mode (since Battamonda remains his hairdo, and Minoton doesn't have any hair).
Summoning Phrases[]
- Kabaton and Battamonda: C'mon! Undergu Energy! (カモン!アンダーグ・エナジー! )?
- Minoton: Come on! Undergu Energy (来たれ!アンダーグ・エナジー! )?

Etymology[]
- Ranborg is based on the words ranbou (乱暴 )?, which means "violence",[1] and Cyborg.
- Kyoborg derives from kyoubou (凶暴 )? ("brutal", "atrocious", or "ferocious")[2] and Cyborg.
Trivia[]
- Much like Delicious Party, the Ranborg are not designed by the series' character designer but by Haruyama Kazumori.[3]
- Ranborg can be fought with brute force, but this cannot purify them. Instead, it will lead to the leftover Undergu Energy gathering back together. In fact, these non-purified Undergu Energies will subsequently merge into bigger and more dangerous Ranborg.HSPC15
- Upon being purified, Ranborg will emit Kira Kira Energy, which are collected into the Mirror Pad as ingredients of the cure for the King and Queen.
- The more a Ranborg is infused with Undergu Energy, the more Kira Kira Energy it will emit once it is purified.HSPC23
- Episode 22 revealed humans can also be turned into Ranborg, with the victims' bodies trapped within the monster itself.
- Ranborg can be created for training and practice without being summoned by the generals.HSPC41
