Shizuku (シズク)? is a movie-exclusive character of Pretty Cure Dream Stars!. Shizuku is a blue fox who lives in the world of Sakuragahara and is Sakura's best friend.
After Sakura managed to escape from Sakuragahara, Shizuku was transformed into Samidare (五月雨)? by Karasu Tengu.

Appearance[]
Shizuku has blue eyes, and fox-like features that closely resembles that of a kitsune with her three tails. She also wears a golden collar.
As Samidare, she takes on a human form that has long blue hair, while retaining many of the physical attributes from her original fox form.
Personality[]
Shizuku has a gentle and compassionate nature; this is seen when she offers to play with Sakura when nobody else would. Shizuku is also courageous - she saved Sakura from falling to her death from a cliff when the latter was not watching where she was going.
As Samidare, she is noticeably more rigid and ruthless, and attacks without mercy. Nonetheless, she still retains her memory of Sakura and fails to attack the latter.
Relationships[]
- Sakura: Shizuku first met Sakura when the latter was sitting beneath a cherry blossom tree crying by herself. Shizuku comforted the teary Sakura and offered to be her friend, and they became friends. Shizuku cares a lot about Sakura; this is seen when Shizuku swiftly saves Sakura from falling to her death from a cliff. Following that incident, their bond became even stronger than before. Their bond is so strong that even when brainwashed as Samidare, she failed to attack Sakura.
Etymology[]
Both Shizuku and Samidare allude to rain. Shizuku translates to "droplet", while Samidare means "May rain"; specifically, heavy rain that occurs in May.
History[]
When Sakura was younger, Shizuku encountered and befriended her. Shizuku would later rescue Sakura from falling off a cliff, and they promised each other to watch the cherry blossoms bloom.
A few years later, Shizuku and Sakura are under Karasu Tengu's attack. Desperate to protect Sakura, Shizuku bites Akainu and Kiinu, then pushes Sakura through a portal. Unfortunately, she ends up being kidnapped by Karasu Tengu and is brainwashed into Samidare.
Samidare is later seen as Karasu Tengu's minion, being ordered to steal the cherry blossoms and Cures' sparkles. When Tengu notices that she is staring sadly at her origami crane, they hypnotize her to sleep, showing that she has no freewill. She is then ordered to turn most of the Cures into origami, but her mask is damaged, which breaks Sakura's heart when she realizes Shizuku has been brainwashed. Fortunately, she is returned back to normal after Sakura persistently convinces her, and together they attack Karasu Tengu's nose as a way to help the Cures, finally defeating Karasu Tengu for good.
Shizuku is last seen with Sakura and the Cures enjoying the cherry blossom picnic.
