"Where Is It? Our Secret Base!?" (どこなの？わたし達の秘密基地！？ Doko na no? Watashitachi no Himitsu Kichi!?)? is the 7th episode of Smile Pretty Cure! and is the 396th episode of the Pretty Cure franchise overall.
In the English dub, Glitter Force, it is called "The Perfect Hideout" and is the 7th episode.
Summary[]
In order to gain some privacy for Pretty Cure, the girls attempt to locate the perfect base. But after having trouble agreeing on each others ideas, the girls attempt to find a way to unify the team.

Synopsis[]
During their lunch break at school, the Cures gather at their usual pavilion to use the Phone Decor to call Pop. However, they are soon interrupted by their classmates. Akane distracts them with a lie about seeing UFOs while the others quickly hide Candy and the Decor Décor.
Realizing they need a quieter location, the Cures search around the school but have no luck. Miyuki suggests finding a secret place for their Pretty Cure activities, and the girls agree with her idea.
The next day, the girls prepare for their search, each bringing items they would like to have in their secret base. Miyuki brings some of her favorite books, Akane brings an okonomiyaki hotplate, Yayoi brings a bead bracelet maker, Nao brings a picnic basket, and Reika brings a wall scroll. They use the Book Door code on their bookshelves to meet up in the Magical Library.
Initially, Akane remarks that the Magical Library seems like a great place for their secret base. However, as they start to consider it, Yayoi suddenly falls into a hole while looking around. The others try to follow her, but Miyuki gets stuck in a bunch of branches. This frustrates the girls, and they abandon the idea of using the Magical Library as their secret base. Each girl then takes turns using the Book Door to go to her own chosen location.
First, Reika brings everyone to the top of Mt. Fuji through a bookshelf located in the research station at the summit. She explains that although the path of a Pretty Cure is rugged, their goal is something special and mighty, like the tall Mt. Fuji. However, the other girls fail to understand her deeper logic and decide it’s too cold.
Disappointed, Yayoi comments that Reika doesn’t know what a real secret base is. With that, she takes her turn and brings everyone to a high-tech secret base. The girls are extremely impressed, but it turns out that the space is merely a set for a movie, and they are quickly shooed away.
Next, Nao leads the girls to a room decorated in pink and filled with soft toys. They are impressed and pleased, deciding to have their picnic lunch there until a man suddenly approaches and informs them that eating is prohibited in the store. It turns out that the location is actually a giant toy shop, and they are in the display area. As they observe their surroundings, a little girl mistakes Candy for one of the soft toys and almost tries to buy her.
Akane takes her turn next, leading the girls into a gorilla enclosure within the zoo through a picture on the bookshelf that hangs inside the exhibit. Her reasoning is that nobody would intrude on them there, but Reika points out that they are intruding on the gorillas instead, which isn’t fair to them. Now disappointed, the girls start to mope as they return to the Magical Library, where Miyuki tries to cheer them up.
Reika asks Miyuki why she believes in such an ideal secret base so much. Miyuki explains that she was inspired by the story Anne of Green Gables, in which Anne and Diana pledged their eternal friendship in a secret base in the woods. As a child, Miyuki once made her own secret spot in the woods near her where she grew up. The girls think this sounds like a perfect spot, and decide to check it out.
Trekking through the woods, the girls find Miyuki's secret spot, but it has now been taken by two littie girls. Miyuki hides her disappointment, but concedes that it's those girls' special spot now, and she can't take that away from them. Suddenly, Wolfrun appears and creates a Bad End space that plunges the little girls into sorrow. The girls transform into Pretty Cure to fight, and Wolfrun creates a tree Akanbe to battle them.
Although the girls are initially overpowered by the Akanbe, Happy's strong wish to protect the two girls' special spot gives her enough fighting spirit to perform Happy Shower. The Akanbe tries to attack her, but is stopped by the other four Cures, allowing Happy to complete her attack and purify the Akanbe. The Cures gain their 7th Cure Decor piece, the Ring Decor.
While walking back from the woods, Miyuki suddenly gets an idea: to let the Book Door decide the best secret base. She asks the Book Door to take them to the optimal place for their needs, but it simply places them back in the library. This causes the girls to realize that the library itself was the best base after all.
Now satisfied, the girls take their own seat upon a row of toadstools but soon realize they are too far apart. Candy suggests they use the Star Decor to decorate the library. To their amazement, the Decor piece turns a large tree stump nearby into an indoor library. Excited, the girls decorate the place with their own belongings and make a toast to celebrate their new base.

- The girls who interrupt at the beginning are Kanemoto Hiroko and Onoushiro Kiyomi. They are from Class 2-2, the same class as the five Cures.
- The opening features scenes from the movie Pretty Cure All Stars New Stage 1, with emphasis on the Suite Pretty Cure♪ and Futari wa Pretty Cure Splash Star Cures.
- As of this episode, Yayoi has been added to the title animation where the five Cures float into the book holding balloons. For episodes 1-6, she was the only one of the five missing.
- The fairy tales Miyuki takes with her are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Heidi, Cinderella, and Anne of Green Gables.
- Akane uses a children's counting phrase ("chuu chuu tako kai na") to help her remember the Book Door code.[1]
- The kanji on Reika's wall scroll, 「道」, means "way" or "path". It appears again in episodes 16 and 43, which are also associated with Reika.
- The secret base in the woods that Miyuki established as a child appears again in episode 44, which tells the story of Miyuki growing up with her grandmother.
- Akane and Nao, the two sporty Cures, both have an apparent love of cute things like soft toys.
- Akane seems to have a fascination with gorillas.
- This episode is similar to episode 7 of Yes! Pretty Cure 5, which also involves the girls searching for a secret base. However, that episode doesn't primarily concern this search.
- The bead machine Candy uses to decorate the base is an actual toy released by Bandai, called the Kuru Deco Beads Maker. It was released one day before the episode aired.
Edits in Glitter Force[]
- The opening does not include footage from Pretty Cure All Stars New Stage 1 because the movie was never dubbed into English.
- A running gag is added where April (Nao) keeps saying that she wants furniture in the secret base and complains whenever a possible base doesn't have furniture.
- In the original, the scene where Miyuki uses the Book Door from inside her house, starts inside her house. In the dub, the first shot is of the exterior of her house.
- The scene with Chloe (Reika)'s desired secret base is heavily edited.
- In the dub, the girls are near a high-altitude weather station rather than atop Mt. Fuji.
- Rather than making a speech about "the way", Chloe declares the goals of the Glitter Force in the form of a poem.
- On Chloe's scroll, the Japanese character 「道」 is changed to "GF", an abbreviation of "Glitter Force".
