"The Pretty Cure are su~cked into a game!?" (プリキュアがゲームニスイコマ~ル!? Purikyua ga gēmu ni suikoma~ru!??) is the 29th episode of Smile Pretty Cure!, the 24th episode of Glitter Force, and also the 418th episode of the Pretty Cure franchise overall. The English title is "A Dicey Game".

Synopsis[]

The girls stumble across another of Majorina's inventions and are sucked into a games world - alongside the Bad End Trio and must play against them to escape.

Synopsis[]

On the last day of summer, the girls happen to meet their teacher, Miss Sasaki, who praises them for finishing their summer homework. There's just one problem: Miyuki, Akane, Yayoi and Nao have not yet finished theirs.

Candy finds a mysterious die on the ground. Miyuki rolls it, and the girls are sucked into an theme park dimension. There they find Wolfrun, Akaoni and Majorina, who explain that it's one of Majorina's inventions. If the girls don't win all the games by 6:30 pm, they'll be stuck in the dimension forever. The girls transform.

The first game is Whack-A-Mole, where Cure Happy competes against Majorina to whack the most moles—green-nosed Akanbe—in one minute. Happy's moles avoid her attacks and refuse to come out of their holes, and with seconds left on the clock, Happy has still not scored any points. She uses Happy Shower to force them out of their holes, giving her a chance to whack the moles many times. Happy wins 99 points to 98.

Next, Cure Sunny faces Wolfrun in a go-kart race. Wolfrun cheats by having his car tickle Sunny's nose, causing her to spin out. Wolfrun changes his car into a rocket, but Sunny uses Sunny Fire to propel her car over the finish line for a narrow victory.

The next game is bowling with Akaoni. Cure Peace is confident, as she was good at the ball-rolling event in elementary school. Akaoni's first roll goes into the gutter, but nine of the Akanbe pins cheat and fall over. Peace's pins are wearing armor and protected by a barrier with sandbags. Peace charges her ball with Peace Thunder, getting a strike and winning the game.

The clock already reads 3:00 PM, and the girls must hurry. In the next game, Akaoni challenges Cure March to baseball, but pitches a cheat inflatable ball. March hits it out of the park, but the scoreboard is also an Akanbe and it blows the ball back to Akaoni. March uses the wind from March Shoot to blow it back out of the park.

Wolfrun challenges Cure Beauty in a swimming race. However there is a shark in Cure Beauty's lane. In order to get across, she freezes the pool with Beauty Blizzard and skates her way to the finish line.

The girls quickly win at five more games and reach the final stage. Majorina transforms a ferris wheel into a Super Akanbe, and challenges them to ride one full rotation inside it. The goal is to be able to say they're "ultra happy" by the end.

On the ferris wheel, the girls are shown a vision of themselves being scolded for not finishing their summer homework. They see themselves playing and having fun instead of doing their homework, and become dejected. However, Candy and Cure Beauty are able to say "ultra happy", and Beauty defends her friends, offering to help them finish their homework. Knowing how good Beauty is, the others are able to say "ultra happy".

Majorina has the Super Akanbe attack, but Peace hits it with Peace Thunder and it blows a fuse. The group to change into their Princess Forms and defeat the Akanbe with Rainbow Burst, gaining two decors. The villains disappear, disappointed that . The girls return home and promise to do their homework.

Unfortunately, Beauty underestimated just how much unfinished homework her friends had. They don't finish it in time, and are given remedial lessons after class. The four back look at Reika as if to say "save us!", but Reika misinterprets their expressions to mean as "don't worry about us!"

Trivia[]

  • This episode marks both the fourth episode where trouble befalls the Pretty Cure after Candy finds one of Majorina's lost items on the ground. The previous instances were episode 8, where Miyuki and Candy swapped bodies; episode 11, when they were all shrunk to the size of insects; and episode 20, where Akane and Miyuki are turned invisible twice. However, this time, it is Miyuki who carelessly picks up the item.
  • Candy's cheer outfit is in the style of an ouendan, a style of cheer squad in Japan which typically consists of male members.
  • This is the second episode which had over five Akanbes. The first was episode 28 that had over twenty Akanbes.
  • This is the second time Pretty Cure are sucked into a game. The first was in Pretty Cure All Stars DX 3: Mirai ni Todoke! Sekai wo Tsunagu☆Niji-Iro no Hana.
  • This is the only episode where Miyuki's dejected catchphrase is borrowed, unlike most occurences where only Miyuki said that. Once the Cures went out of the ferris wheel, everyone except Cure Beauty said together with the same expression as Cure Happy: "Ultra Happu~pu~"
  • In Akane's flashback of not doing her homework, her manga are octopus-themed parodies of real manga:
    • "Octo no Ken", a parody of Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star)
    • "Ashi Tako Nanja", a parody of Ashita no Nadja (Tomorrow's Nadja)
    • "Atakko Number 8", a parody of volleyball manga Attack No. 1
  • The superhero Yayoi meets in her flashback is the same character as on her alarm clock in episode 9. In episode 40, she mentions treasuring a photo she took with Taiyouman, suggesting that this superhero character may in fact be Taiyouman, although he's never specifically named.
  • This episode's theme of leaving your summer homework until the last minute may be due to it originally airing on September 2, 2012, when school starts again.
