Synopsis

Manatsu and Sango sit down for lunch when they hear the lunch broadcast on the speaker. After hearing a discussion about the folklore behind mermaids and the recent rumor going around, Manatsu waits until she and the others get together at their club to ask Laura to confirm what she heard. Laura denies the accusations of having sunken a ship, explaining how the wind or rocks caused it. Asuka goes on to ask her if she sings, and Laura recalls her youth when she used to get together with the other mermaids and sea-life. All mermaids love to sing. Sango brings up that she heard Laura singing, back when they met. She compliments her voice and Manatsu worries because of the other folklore they heard. She asks Laura to sing but she refuses, diving back into the Aqua Pot.

Minori, Sango and Manatsu walk through the hallway when they find two girls observing the empty broadcast request box. Manatsu curiously approaches them and Minori introduces Izumi as her classmate, and after she speaks, Manatsu instantly recalls hearing her earlier. She and Yukie are glad someone was listening, and they express how frustrating things have been for them as of late. Since everyone usually chats during lunch their broadcasts go ignored. They thought that by encouraging the other students to give them requests -like songs or interviews- that could help, but they barely got anything.

Manatsu eagerly offers to let the Tropical Club join them, and after school the girls meet at Pretty Holic to discuss what they should say. She wants to talk about all the "tropica shining" things, while Sango admits that she doesn't have any ideas yet. Minori doesn't want to go on, offering to help with the technical stuff because she is genuinely interested in radio programs and how they work. Sango asks her for opinions, and Minori explains that hobbies and daily life are common topics. Manatsu suggests she talk about makeup then, and Sango agrees. Minori goes on to bring up how popular advice segments are, so Manatsu suggests that Asuka handle that. Asuka complains over her pushiness and Laura pops out from the Aqua Pot, offering to be the finale- until the others point out that Laura wouldn't be able to record her voice without letting the broadcast club see her. So there's no way she can participate.

The following day at school Manatsu approaches Izumi to ask that she be allowed to observe the broadcast. She wants to learn more about it. Izumi agrees and they make plans, only to express discomfort after. She insists she is fine seeing how concerned they look.

Later, the girls meet up with Yukie and Izumi, who walk them through the process of recording the broadcast. The girls watch from the other room when the program starts, with Izumi talking about a special parfait, it's so big that if you can finish eating it in a half hour, its free. She decided to try it out and she managed to do it; but her stomach has been hurting all day. She has a song play so that she can speak to the others, who tell her to head to the infirmary to rest. Izumi agrees and leaves the rest of the show to Yukie, who assures her it will be fine; until she leaves, in which she starts stressing out. Manatsu offers to fill in for Izumi, along with Asuka and Sango while Minori joins Yukie in the other room with the equipment. Asuka and Sango become a little anxious as Yukie explains that the microphone will pick up everything, and this is a live program so there's no redoes.

Once the song ends, the girls begin with Manatsu nearly deafening everyone around the school when she excitedly yells into the microphone. Minori gently reminds her that its not necessary and points out the script, where Manatsu struggles to read the name of the next song- her banter with the other girls ends up amusing everyone listening. Manatsu eventually gives up trying to script read, suggesting they chat instead. She introduces herself and the Tropical Club, but before the other girls can take their turn, they get distracted by a bug. Manatsu eagerly chases after it and Sango freaks out after it lands on her face, with the rest of the student body curiously listening to the broadcast. Manatsu manages to catch the bug -after tearing up the recording room- and she heads out to release the bug while Asuka and Minori calm down Sango. Yukie starts worrying and accidentally knocks her pencil over, and while everyone is distracted Laura appears, using a long skirt to cover her tail fin. The girls are shocked but with no other choice but to carry on, they sit back down with her as their special guest. Laura starts by giving them critique of their chaotic broadcast thus far, and she attempts to guide them by having Sango read from the paper of various questions submitted to them. Asuka tries to answer but all she can say is "do your best", causing Laura to pick on her. The girls continue with their playful banter while discussing tropical melon bread and Manatsu becomes hungry.

Meanwhile, at the Aozora Market there is a limited sale. Chongire watches to see the crowd and sellers are full of motivation, and he summons a Zenzen Yaraneeda to steal it away.

With the broadcast on break, the girls ask Yukie how they did. She admits that while they went off-topic, it was a lot of fun. The girls are frustrated to see an attack is occurring in town, but they tell Yukie everything is fine when she asks. She tells them that the free talk segment is left and was hoping one of them could do it. Laura agrees to stay there and help and the others rush off, she encourages Yukie to keep going when she seems concerned and returns to the other room. She reads from the paper to see how worried everyone is, so she decides that rather than talk, she would rather sing to everyone. She sings a happy song to lift the mood of everyone listening, Yukie, the other students and staff members.

The girls arrive and transform into Pretty Cure, but they are forced to block the sound waves from the Yaraneeda, allowing to strike them. Chongire makes fun of the girls but they rise with little effort, assuring they aren't done in that easy.

Laura finishes her song and concludes the broadcast, telling everyone to have a good day. Yukie compliments Laura and she thanks her before making a hasty retreat so that she can join the others.

The girls aren't able to land a solid hit on the Yaraneeda until Laura arrives, and she uses the Aqua Pot to regain the Motivation. The Yaraneeda attempts to deafen them again but Coral pushes past it, using her ability to deflect the sound back at it and give them a chance to use Mix Tropical to finish it off.

Later, once school has concluded the girls at the Tropical Club are approached by Izumi and Yukie with a full request box. Everyone wants to hear Laura sing again. Izumi explains that she felt better hearing her sing, and the girls ask where Laura is. While they try to come up with an answer, Manatsu happily tells them that she wishes she got to hear her sing too. Laura -who was listening from her Aqua Pot- tells them that she'll think about it.
