A Secret Adventure! Find The Mermaid's Treasure! (ヒミツの大冒険！人魚の宝を探せ！ Himitsu no Daibōken! Ningyo no Takara wo Sagase!)? is the 22nd episode of Tropical-Rouge! Pretty Cure and is the 849th episode of the Pretty Cure franchise overall.
Summary
It's the first day of the training camp on Minamino Island. The Tropical Club have fun at the secret beach that Manatsu recommended. After being told about the mermaid treasure, the girls go to investigate the cave, when they lose sight of Laura...

Synopsis
The girls start their morning by eating breakfast, then they head out to exercise. Manatsu is approached by some children she knows and she lets them join in.
Meanwhile, the Witch of Delays is in pain and Butler comes to check on her. A orb floats out of her and he collects it. She asks him how long he plans to keep her waiting for motivation power. He assures that it won't be much longer now, because he's gathered more information to help them. He heads to Numeri's office for a bandage after being hit by the orb and reveals to her that it will provide them with Zettai Yaraneeda. Chongire is on break so it'll be her turn to go gathering. Butler suggests that she think of it as a break.
In the forest, Manatsu leads the girls through to the other side, where they find the sea waiting for them. They change clothes and play on the beach as Laura changes back into her mermaid form to swim beneath it. Sango picks up a handful of star stand to admire how pretty it looks- until they inform her that its from the remains of the shells left behind when forams die. The others find this amusing and they go into the water to relax their troubles away. They begin to get very sleepy though, and Asuka quickly reminds them that because its training camp they should do something important, like learn more about the island.
Arriving back at her place, Manatsu and her parents recall Granny Tomi. She's the elder of the island and knows everything about it, her dad used to go listen to her stories when he was little. The girls approve of the idea and together they head over, finding the children from earlier there as well. Manatsu gives her some gummies and they thank her for letting them come to visit. She tells them to relax and offers to tell them a mysterious story, about a treasure hidden behind a cave. Manatsu recognizes this because it was a story she told the others, and Tomi informs them that the treasure wasn't hidden by pirates like one would assume, but mermaids. The elder before her used to tell her this story when she was little. There was a "forest mermaid" who would come out on the night of a full moon. She was a kid when she saw this mermaid in the forest. The mermaid leapt out of the water and she looked beautiful. She often wished she could see the mermaid, but try as she might she hasn't been able to yet.
The girls leave once Tomi finishes her story in hopes of finding the treasure. Laura insist she doesn't have any idea when asked, because mermaids are creatures of the sea. They argue back that if the cave had water in it, then its possible the mermaid got inside. Manatsu spots some spring water, but no ponds or lakes anywhere. Laura doesn't think a mermaid would be there, so they keep looking. As this is going on, Numeri surfaces from the water when she spots a large cave opening. She decides to go through it.
With the atmosphere becoming tense, the girls approach the large cave opening upon finding it. Manatsu suddenly recalls that one must pay before entering though, because its a tourist spot. They go inside and she's put on edge since its been a while since she last came, but the girls manage to calm her down and they keep going, realizing that it would be easy to get lost since its such a big place.
While they chat, Numeri gets anxious and quickly tries to locate the exit, unaware of the nearby sign pointing out the main path.
The girls wonder where the treasure could be located and ask Minori, but with so little to go with she doesn't have any idea. She asks if there were any sort of old island songs that may have clues hidden in the lyrics, and Manatsu remembers one that she used to sing with her parents when she was little. Before she can began, they hear someone else nearby and panic after spotting Numeri, who is equally startled. They assume she's a ghost and run until they reach another room within the cave. They admire the glowing cave until realizing that Laura isn't with them. She must have gotten separated from them.
Laura complains over the others leaving her behind like this. She becomes distracted by a scent wafting through the air, one that smells nostalgic. She follows after it, unaware of the marker on the ground that warns people not to cross it and trips, causing her to fall deeper into the cave.
While wondering if the ghost caught Laura, the girls run into Numeri again. She tells them off for assuming she is a ghost, and they ask if she came to look for the treasure. Rather than waste time dealing with the girls, Numeri summons a Zettai Yaraneeda using their flashlight.
After her rough landing, Laura stands up and picks up the scent again. Her Aqua Pact reacts and floats away from her, causing her to give chase. It leads her to a small crack within the wall and inside, she locates an item. Her pact begins to glow along with it, and she rubs the product inside to determine it was the scent she was smelling. Just then, the cave rumbles due to the Yaraneeda appearing.
Outside, Granny Tomi and the children observe the birds hurriedly flying away.
The girls transform into Pretty Cure and the Yaraneeda begins its attack by blinding the Cures and smashing its hands into the walls. At this rate it could destroy the cave if it isn't stopped. Suddenly, Laura appears and she transforms into La Mer to join them. She kicks the Yaraneeda to distract it, allowing the girls to see again. The Yaraneeda smashes part of the wall and a large rock falls towards them, but with some quick thinking, Coral blocks it and tosses it towards La Mer, who smashes it down to break the top of the flashlight monster's head. It falls to the ground and the girls use Mix Tropical to finish it off; but to their surprise, this isn't enough and the Yaraneeda breaks free. It recovers and blasts beams of light at the girls, throwing them to the ground. La Mer rises, refusing to give in just yet. The item she found begins to glow and it transforms into the Perfume Shiny Brace. It connects to the Pact and La Mer performs Ocean Bubble Shower to defeat the Yaraneeda.
Numeri is dismayed over the outcome of their battle and she takes off. The hole created by her escape results in a massive burst of water to come gushing through it, forcing the girls to make a quick escape as rocks and debris begin to fall from the walls. Papaya recalling listening to Granny Tomi and she spots the correct path they should go, but as they run La Mer trips and is swallowed by the water.
The girls leap out of the big hole in the caves ceiling and notice the moon above them. Papaya reveals that the North Beach Cave is linked to the forest, like she was theorizing. The girls land and realize that La Mer isn't with them, but just then, Laura emerges from the water in her mermaid form and leaps high into the air.
From where they stand, Granny Tomi and the children admire her beautiful form. She joyously weeps as the children promise to pass on this story as they get older too.
Meanwhile, Numeri sulks back to the Witch of Delays base to find Butler and Elda. She sits down while explaining that she was unable to obtain the treasure, but Butler informs her that it was the cup they were after. It contained the motivation power. Elda asks if their wishes to be fulfilled by opening the Fool's Casket. Butler assures her of it.
Back at Manatsu's the girls admire the perfume coming from the Shiny Brace. They wonder why it was in the cave though, and because it connects to Pretty Cure, someone from the Mermaid Kingdom must have come to the island in the past. Asuka insists that they focus on empowering themselves because of the stronger Yaraneeda, but Laura's cockiness with her newfound power eases their mood.

- This episode was originally supposed to air on July 25th, but was postponed to August 1st due to the Tokyo Olympics.
- Cure La Mer appears at the beginning of the ending sequence.
- This episode's airdate coincides with Manatsu's birthday.
- The nostalgic perfume is revealed in episode 36 to be that of Bubble Flowers, a plant native to Laura's home, and from which Kururun's Seashell Cookies are made.
