Major Events

  • The Cures perform Marine Beat Dynamic for the first time.
  • It is revealed that Laura and Manatsu have met before in the past, but Laura had her memories of that encounter erased.
  • The Mermaid Queen reveals her real name: Melusine Muses Mnemosyne.

Synopsis

After being robbed of the Marine Heart Kuru Ring, Manatsu and her friends finds themselves washed into another section of the Grand Ocean. They decide to look around the castle to rescue the real Mermaid Queen and the inhabitants of the kingdom. While searching, they discover a room that contains the memories of the mermaids with one memory that shocked Laura.

The girls manage to rescue the Mermaid Queen, but then Laura asks the Mermaid Queen about her memories of her childhood, which had been sealed away as well. Her sealed memories reveal that she had actually met Manatsu before and played with her. The Mermaid Queen explains that according to the Mermaid Law, any mermaid who interacted with humans will have their memories erased. She also elaborates that Laura's memories with her friends will also be erased as soon as peace returns to the Grand Ocean. Laura openly objects to the idea but drops the discussion after learning that the Chou Zettai Yaraneeda is terrorizing Aozora City. The Cures continue to struggle against the might of monstrosity, but the Tropical Heart Dresser and the Legendary Pretty Cure within it react to the five Cure's strong feelings and gives them the Marine Heart Kuru Ring. They use their new attack, Marine Beat Dynamic to defeat the Chou Zettai Yaraneeda.

After the battle, the Tropical Heart Dresser appears in front of the Mermaid Queen as the Legendary Pretty Cure, surprising her. Later that night, Manatsu hands Laura a flower crown that she promised to make for her when she was a child. Laura worries about forgetting her friends and the times spent together but Manatsu ensures that even if she does, she will be there to help her remember.

Trivia

  • Cure Summer appears at the beginning of the ending.
  • The episode's airdate coincides with Cure Papaya's birthday.
  • The flower crown from this episode is made out of morning glories. Morning glories are flowers that bloom and die on the same day, and their underlying meaning is related to longing, affection and love. Their short lifespan also reflects the fleeting nature of love, but also reminds us that love itself can be renewed each day.
    • This correlates with the story of Laura and Manatsu's friendship as they had met each other in the past, but had since lost touch. However, their friendship with each other once again develops after meeting each other again, and becoming teammates has strengthened and renewed their bond.
  • The first out of the two flashbacks about Manatsu and Laura’s first meeting was animated by Mori Keisuke, rather than Aoyama Mitsuru, who animated the rest of the episode.
