Synopsis

The Tropical Club comes up with a plan for a stage play for the club graduation event. When Laura insists on being the star, Manatsu suggests The Little Mermaid, but Laura dislikes that story. Manatsu suggests instead adapting Minori's story, A Mermaid's Tale.

However, Minori is reluctant, since she has no faith in the quality her story. The girls encourage her to rewrite the story to make it better, and she decides to think about it. Laura wisely realizes that this means Minori really wants to write the story.

At home, Minori takes out her manuscript and sharpens the broken pencil. However, she has trouble starting, feeling that she lacks the life experience necessary to tell a meaningful story. The girls unexpectedly arrive at Minori's house, and Manatsu invites her on a quest to search for the legendary papaya from her story. Even though everyone knows it's fictional, Minori goes along anyway.

At the fruit store, the girls find "Legendary Papaya" on sale, although it's just normal papaya. The seller suggests they visit the papaya orchard to do their research. There, Minori admits that although she knows a lot about the papaya, she's never actually eaten one. Embarrassed, she runs away and trips. The girls help her back up, and they talk about the meaning of papaya: how it relies on sunlight to grow, and how the fruits clump together on the tree, symbolizing "companion" in the language of flowers.

The girls eat papaya together, and Minori ponders that perhaps the true legendary papaya was the friends she made along the way. However, the event is interrupted by Elda, who creates a Chou Zettai Yaraneeda from a crawfish, stealing Motivation Power from the orchard workers who raise the papaya with care.

The girls transform to fight the Yaraneeda, but it's too fast. Cure Papaya realizes that, just as the papaya grows in bright sunlight, the adventures of the Tropical Club are Cure Papaya's sunlight. She comes up with a plan to attack at all directions at once, causing the Yaraneeda to dodge straight up, where Papaya blinds it with her eye beams before knocking it down with Panpaka Papaya Shot. They defeat it with Marine Beat Dynamic.

Minori declares that the "tropica-shining" feelings she felt as part of the Tropical Club are her true "legendary papaya", and is inspired to write a new play based on her friends.
