Synopsis

The Tropical Club members go over their history as Pretty Cures, so that Minori can use it as a basis for the club graduation event play. Most of the episode consists of flashbacks to past episodes.

Laura describes a somewhat fictionalized version of how she heroically accepted of the Mermaid Queen's mission to find the Pretty Cure, aiming to unite the human and mermaid worlds. She meets Laura, and learns the word "tropica-shining", which she thought was a silly term. A Yaraneeda attacks and Manatsu becomes Cure Summer.

Sango remembers how she met Manatsu at Pretty Holic and Laura at the aquarium. It's Laura who convinced Sango to believe in her "cute", and she becomes Cure Coral. Next they recall how Asuka rescued Manatsu from ruffians, and later insisted on becoming Cure Flamingo from her own determination. Minori recalls meeting Laura at the museum, and how Laura convinced her to have the courage to become Cure Papaya.

They remember how they met Kururun washed up on the shore, which Minori declines to put into the story. Next they recall how Laura was captured by the Witch of Delays, who offered to make her human. Laura refused, and became Cure La Mer through her own determination, despite previously believing that mermaids could not become Pretty Cures.

The villains recall how the Cures used the Land Heart Kuru Ring to perform Land Beat Dynamic and suggest studying it to find a way to defend against it, but are too lazy to begin.

Back in the present, Minori decides that her play will be adapted somewhat, set in a medieval European coastal town. Laura will play the visiting princess Rosalia, Manatsu a traveling explorer, Sango a flower shop girl, and Asuka a knight. Minori declares that she will play a famous detective, secretly descended from dragons with lost memories of papaya treasure, although the premise seems unnecessarily complex, and the additional ideas they come up with are too long to fit into the play.

Sango reflects on how they were strangers a year ago, but are now the best of friends. Minoribelieves her play is really about that: five strangers becoming friends and discovering what they treasure. Manatsu titles it Tropica-shining Story.
