Tanaka (田中, Tanaka)^?, also known as Tanakhan (タナカーン, Tanakhan)^? is a fairy from KirakiLand who appears in Kimi to Idol Pretty Cure♪. He is Idol Pretty Cure's manager, and works part time at Cafe Glitter.

Bio

Appearance

Tanaka has short brown hair and matching brown eyes with thin-rimmed glasses. He usually wears a black suit with a green long-sleeved shirt underneath along with a yellow tie with a light red music note on it and black dress shoes.

Personality

Tanaka is stoic, usually expressionless, and speaks in a monotone, respectful tone. However, when something happens that stirs his emotions, highlights appear in his eyes, allowing him to show a little bit of emotion.

Relationships

• Purirun: Tanaka gets along well with Purirun. He lived behind Purirun in KirakiLand, and has a special technique he uses on Purirun, which is scratching under Purirun's chin.

Etymology

Tanaka (田中, Tanaka)^?: Ta (田, Ta)^? means "rice field", while Naka (中, Naka)^? means "middle."

History

Before the series, Tanaka was originally stationed at the KirakiLand Branch Office in Hanamichi Town. He patrolled the town, but when he heard that KirakiLand was attacked by Darkine, he was ordered by Pikarine to become the Idol Pretty Cure's manager.^KIPC05

Tanaka approaches Uta and Nana on the beach and reveals that he knows they are the Pretty Cure.^KIPC04 Later, he visits Cafe Glitter and orders a coffee float. After that, he approaches Uta and Nana again and hands his business card to them, declaring that he will be their manager. When the girls ask Pikarine about Tanaka, he confirms his identity by using a familiar special technique on Purirun. After allowing the girls to accept the job at Pretty Holic, he watches over them and even witnesses them using their Pretty Cure powers against Zakkuri's Makkuranda. Some time later, he begins working part-time at Cafe Glitter because he was impressed by the taste of the coffee float.^KIPC05

• Before his name was revealed in episode 5, Tanaka was credited as ??? in the fourth episode's ending credits.
• Tanaka shares his voice actor with Warp from the Go! Princess Pretty Cure movie.
