Vanish

Vanish (ヴァニッシュ, Vanish)^? is the main antagonist of the Suite Pretty Cure♪ novel. They are the culprit behind the disappearance of the Kanon Town townspeople.

Bio

Appearance

They look like a thick black cloud that is eerily swirling, and moves while moaning low sounds.

In their final form after being ejected from Hibiki's body, they are characterized by their thick black appearance as if it is a black smog cloud.

Personality

Vanish is a monster that is dedicated to erase all people and sounds, spreading chaos as their true purpose.

Etymology

Vanish means to "to disappear or stop being present or existing, especially in a sudden, surprising way".

History

Sometime after Noise was sealed, Vanish arrived and wreaked havoc in Major Land, causing the entire country to fall into a critical situation, but was soon banished.

At the beginning of the story, they suddenly appeared in Kanon Town and possessed the body of Hojo Hibiki, who could no longer believe in Kanade, Ellen and Ako, because she thought they were going to abandon her. Then, according to Hibiki's wish of "I don't want to lose Kanade", Vanish used her to erase Ouji Masamune, confusing the townspeople and causing their distrust with each other to rise.

After causing suspicions and distrust in the town, they used Hibiki's sadness further by transferring it to Kurokawa Ellen and Shirabe Ako, and soon they absorbed Aphrodite, Mephisto, Otokichi, Hibiki's parents Dan and Maria, and even the people of Kanon Town.

In the end, when Hibiki found out that she was possessed by Vanish, they escaped from her body and tried to kill Hibiki and the others with the power of sorrow. However, Pii-chan came to Hibiki's rescue and gave her the power to transform into Cure Melody. With the power of the four Cures' unity and friendship, Vanish was completely extinguished after getting hit by their special move "Pretty Cure Passionate Harmony".

Abilities

Unlike Noise, Vanish is a monster that absorbs and erases only the echoes of sounds in the world.

The sound that echoes in space is erased by Vanish to make targeted humans feel lonely and afraid. Due to said effect, humans also lose trust and become suspicious of each other, and eventually fight and destroy each other. Vanish alone doesn't erase humans, but they can possess humans who are filled with sadness, and depending on the will of the possessed human, it is possible for Vanish to erase other humans. They are also able to telepathically communicate with the possessed human's mind for the purpose of manipulating said person.

When absorbing humans, it is possible for Vanish to suck them up with a powerful wind force. They also have the ability to change the "Melody of Happiness" sung by Hummy, Aphrodite, and Mephisto at the same time into a dry and sad sound. They are also an extremely powerful entity that can even surpass the sound of Shirabe Otokichi's pipe organ.

In their final form, they are able to emit an eerie voice that is full of sadness, and those who hear it perceive this eeriness as a sad, dry sound. It is possible for them to enlarge themselves, and in addition to launching attacks that absorb the Suite Cures while rotating, they are also good at mental attacks to weaken their foes' resolve and happiness.
