Synopsis[]

Komugi & Iroha arrive at Niko Garden after traveling through the Kiraniko Trunk's portal and are marveled by how large it is. Mey Mey catches up with the Cures and tries to get them to listen to him, but Komugi turns into her dog form and runs around while Iroha is excited to see all the different animals. Then, they all arrive at a gazebo where Mey Mey feeds the Niko Ostrich some Niko Fruit, which instantly rejuvenates it. After the ostrich thanks the Cures for rescuing it, Mey Mey explains that the Niko Fruit will make anyone who eats it feel "nikoniko" and offers them to try the gummy-like fruit. Iroha enjoys it, but Komugi has to turn into human form in order to eat it. They also have some tea, but it is initially too hot for Komugi, and Iroha shows her how to drink it.

Iroha then mentions how the Niko Garden's animals look slightly different from the ones in Animal Town, and Mey Mey explains that they are all known as "Niko Animals" and they all came from Earth along with Niko, who created the Niko Garden long ago so they can live happily and in peace. He also reminds them that some of the animals, including Niko, have gone missing after it was attacked, and asks for the Cures' help. Iroha asks where the Garugarus came from, but Mey Mey doesn't remember how he was turned into one. Iroha also suggests asking Satoru for help, but Mey Mey shoots the idea down so he won't get in trouble with Niko about revealing the Niko Garden's existence to anyone else.

The Cures return to Animal Town and Iroha wonders if they can handle this on their own. Suddenly, she sees Satoru and Daifuku walk up to them and he asks her if they're all okay after them having to leave earlier. Iroha apologizes to Satoru for making him worry, but she lies saying that she and Komugi just went for a walk. Satoru accepts Iroha's answer and he and Daifuku head back home, but Iroha feels extremely guilty for lying to him about what happened.

Meanwhile, Satoru figures out that Iroha is hiding something from him and begins to worry that she doesn't trust him anymore. Then, Daifuku starts sensing a strange evil power in the bushes and thumps his feet to get Satoru's attention. The two look to find a strange black egg lying in the grass. Satoru takes notes about the egg's characteristics and even attempts to touch it, but Daifuku yanks on the leash before he can and they leave, but not before Satoru glances at the egg one more time. Later that night, Satoru researches the mysterious egg, but he can't find any other ones with a similar pattern.

The next morning, Komugi and Iroha go to sniff out some Garugarus while Satoru heads out. While the Cures follow a family of ducks, Satoru looks for the egg again and sees that it's now broken. Suddenly, the remains of the egg disappear and a rabbit Garugaru appears behind Satoru. Komugi senses its presence after she and Iroha leave the ducks. The Garugaru starts knocking over trees while Satoru hides from it. He tries to escape, but he accidentally steps on a branch, which gets the monster's attention and chases after him, eventually leaping over him so it can corner him. Just then, Iroha arrives and despite Satoru telling her to run away, and Mey Mey prohibiting her from revealing her identity, she transforms into Cure Friendy anyway because she doesn't want to abandon him. Satoru is surprised that Iroha is a Pretty Cure, but Komugi shocks him even more not just by talking, but transforming into Cure Wonderful.

As the Cures prepare to stop the Garugaru, Satoru figures out that this is what Iroha has been hiding. The Garugaru proves hard for the Cures to catch because of its speed, and it even uses the strange jewel on its forehead to fire a laser at a tree and causes it to rot. Wonderful tries to grab the Garugaru's tail, but it angrily throws her off and attacks her while she's down. Friendy summons a barrier to protect Wonderful, but the Garugaru breaks it. Satoru tries to tell the Cures to run away, but Friendy says that they have to rescue it because the Garugaru isn't its true form.

It is then that Satoru catches on to what's happening and explains that the Garugaru might have originally been a rabbit and that it's thumping its foot because it's wary and cautious. Friendy thanks Satoru and starts slowly approaching the Garugaru. She apologizes for scaring it and promises she won't hurt it while asking if they could go to the Niko Garden together. Then, she and Wonderful start stroking its fur to calm it down and the Garugaru is purified, turning back into a rabbit-like creature. The rabbit lands in Friendy's hands and the Cures introduce themselves to them, but in the process they accidentally reveal their identities to Satoru as well.

Back at the Niko Garden, Mey Mey is picking up pieces of the shattered diamond when the Cures arrive with the strange rabbit they just rescued. Mey Mey identifies it as the Kirarin Rabbit, one of the special Kirarin Animals. Satoru, who also followed them, suggests feeding it some Niko Fruit, and Mey Mey is shocked that another human has learned about the Niko Garden's existence. He's angry at first that the Cures would reveal their secret, but Komugi assures him that Satoru found out on his own. Mey Mey feels like a failure, but Satoru tell him not to worry and promises not only to keep the garden a secret, but to also help the Cures rescue the other animals in Niko's absence even though he doesn't have powers. Mey Mey then warms up to Satoru and thanks him for wanting to help. Iroha explains how she initially didn't tell Satoru anything despite wanting to and now she can't wait to work together with him. Komugi is also extremely happy they are all together now.
